Hey everyone

I have just been thinking since I recently started getting back into music
That I have not come across a massive group of blind musicians communicating and interacting with each other under one massive hub
To explain what I mean
John wants to compose a track and has the drums and percussion is that he is desiring to have on his Song but can't play the instruments and sounds that he requires for his track
He jumps into the community chat and asks if anyone can play the violin guitar piano or bass
4 different musicians step up and are willing to Calab on a track or project
They start sending each other ideas that they have composed from different parts of the world sharing their talents and ideas with each other
As it doesn't matter what genre of music they are into as music is global and takes influences from all genres

As musicians and producer sometimes we get a block when it comes to composing or producing ideas and tracks
Imagine you can jump online and click on the community to find different artists all around the world chopping little ideas that they have made on to the site and sharing it
And seeing people take your ideas and composing some random stuff you would never ever think you would do with it

As we all know blind musicians are very talented and play a whole range of instruments
Why not have a place where they can network and socialise on together
If so Chiplay six this please direct me in the vicinity where it is located

If not is anyone interested in starting up the network

Oh yes, this would be a treat.  I know a blind lady who sings and plays keyboards, and I, myself, can play just about anything.    Not sure if anything exists like this, but the best place to start something would be facebook, most likely.

This is an excellent idea. The question is, can you implement it properly and not fuck it up in the process? smile

This is something I've considered implementing on the site I run my music tech accessibility blog from. However, I won't be able to get around to it until my current hosting plan runs out this summer and I make the switch to one that could better accommodate something like this. If there's enough interest for this, will definitely take it into consideration. But as was posted above, there are already tons of groups on Facebook for this sort of thing. I'm in quite a few local ones and have had great success, including finding my current writing and performing partner for an acoustic duo I'm in, and I've even found a couple international groups that are good. The key is finding one that has the necessary rules in place that keep the group from turning into a giant mess of shameless plugs for gigs or new releases. The best groups, in my experience, limit self promotion to a certain number of posts per week or month, and that usually makes way for a great community of people who are eager to find others to be creative with.

I wouldn't mind this as a Facebook group or something, but at the same this is wide spread and I already belong to a lot of music groups that do this, of course not with all blind musicians but tbh I don't see the point of making an all VI musicians area because it would serve the same purpose as a normal musicians hub and just have the "we're blind" tag on it.
