Hi everyone, I'm interested in learning more about accessible mobile design. I'm reading through info online, but any suggestions, recommendations, examples, best practices, etc that you have links to would be deeply appreciated. My background is mostly pc/console, so I'm still trying to get a feel on how to best deal with touch screens.

As always, my research is not a promise that anything will happen.

Thanks,

The first thing that comes to mind would be the quite good catalog of Somethin' Else audiogames, like Nightjar, Papa Sangre, Papa Sangre 2, etc. They took their games off the apps stores awhile ago though, there were promises of open sourcing their custom binural audio engine but it never materialized. Since then their sites morphed into some weird blend of media/marketting company.

@magurp244 Apologies for the side topic, but I just noticed the image and model viewing software in your signature, and looked at the documentation on their websites. How well do these work for you? Unfortunately I'm nearly deaf, so can't really try it out myself. - Karen Stevens

Well, I developed both tools so i'm not sure if i'm the one to be asking objectively about them, heh. From what i've observed users were able to quickly make use of it to draw images, such as an Incan Cross and one of those chinese luck cats I believe, among others. There are only a handful of alternatives out there i've found such as SVGDraw01, BlindPaint, and TactileView, which could help with comparisons. The general goal with BrushTone was to make something like MSPaint that was easy to pick up and use, and I think it works rather well in that regard. Which isn't to say its perfect, still quite a few things to improve as time allows.

As for the other tool.. Near as I can tell there are no accessible 3D modelling or viewing tools of any kind anywhere, I did hear rumors about a pair of PHD's working on something a few years ago but not much else since then. AudiMesh3D is more of a preliminary tool as I figure out the whole 3D modelling thing meant for viewing/working with OpenSCAD, i'm currently looking into a more full featured voxel based approach, though its on the shelf at the moment as i'm working on a different project. I can't really say how well it currently works though since there aren't really any alternatives, heh.

On the topic (he he he).
From a developer view I've found both ReactNative accessible on both iOS and Android, but that was mainly for general application development, and not for game development (but I know that it can handle that to).
