I'm going to hair-split a difference here. Please understand that while I'm doing this, I fully understand that bad business is still bad business.
If you pre-order a game with a non-fixed release date, it's slimy to then never deliver that game, but it's illogical to say that that game is never coming. Edge of Winter has a playable, if buggy, demo, as I understand. This means that it does conceivably exist in some partially-completed fashion.
We as a community must be careful about the issues we are pointing out. If we are saying that, by and large, people don't get what they pay for, this is actually not true. The only thing I ever bought from BreakerBox, I got. It took a bit, but I did get it. I know a lot of others who have played Airik the Cleric as well, suggesting that, even if there were annoying waits involved, these people were delivered the goods they paid for.
That said, really obnoxious wait times are annoying, and not good business practice. Pre-orders without specific dates really should raise red flags for possible buyers, but they, too, are also pretty suspect. We just have to be careful to distinguish a difference between two stances. BreakerBox often does deliver what it promises; it just takes forever and a day for them to do it.
I am not sure of the support you'll garner here, nor on Paypal, given that this fact is true. If nothing else, I hope it encourages Jake to conduct business more professionally in future.
