Thanks a lot. I totally forgot to answer this. It gives me the following output, which makes no sense for me. It both says x84 and 64:
Linux server 4.9.68-x86_64-linode89 #1 SMP Mon Dec 11 16:09:29 UTC 2017 x86_64 x x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

@danang137, This update only runs on 64 bit machines. If you have a 32 bit computer and operating system, this update won't run on it.

Oh no! Somebody released the h key! Everybody run and hide!

Hey SLJ, I heard that your server recently fucked up, are you willing to put your RTR one up again?
We only have one each for RTR and RTR ultimate, I'm contacting those server owners to try and convince them to put up sister servers for the other version, but for now their are barely any, and Joseph's never has a map change.

Hi.
Yes, I would like to put up a server again. But, I need some help with Ubuntu.
I have the 64 bit operating system installed, but for some reason, I'm unable to run the server after it has changed to 64 bit only. If someone can help me to fix that or find out why I'm unable to run this, I would love to hear from you.
See post 2,079 just a few posts above for more information. I don't know if my kernel is 32 bit or what's wrong... I'll try to contact @Jonnyboy privately about this...
Edit: I have just wrote a mail to him, hoping that he can help me solve this issue...

Best regards SLJ.

Hey,
you must install a 32 wine prefix by executing the folloowing command
WINEPREFIX="$HOME/prefix32" WINEARCH=win32 wine wineboot
• Where WINEPREFIX is the directory for the prefix

If you want to contact me, do not use the forum PM. I respond once a year or two, when I need to write a PM myself. I apologize for the inconvenience.

Hi.
Thanks. But, what does this exactly do? Does it change any settings or brake the other wine stuff which is already running?

Best regards SLJ.

Just a heads up for everyone, Joseph Weakland's server is now cycling between maps again! I think we have about 14...
It's also now on deathmatch mode,  not LMS, which makes things run allot smoother.
It's set up to go small, bigger, small, bigger, so if you end up on a map with too many people for the area, than just wait 15 minutes or get 15 kills and you'll have more space to work in.
They were all tested before hand, and you can download all of the maps you'll need from the link below, kindly provided by my buddy Dranelement

http://www.VRStudios.net/RTRMaps.zip

Simply unzip the file into your RTR directory and you'll be good to go.
And if you want to practice navigating the maps without having to worry about avoiding other players every 10 seconds, just get the pre set up server from this link, then delete the server folder from your RTR directory and replace it with this one.
https://www.dropbox.com/s/w6r10c6kedz9i … r.zip?dl=1
You can run that on your local network without having to forward any ports, deal with DDNS, or even be connected to the wider internet, much like you would do for a printer or scanner, and all you really have to do is run the program and remember a couple commands
A readme is included which will get you up and running with very minimal effort, though please note that it won't work unless you've installed the maps from the link above before hand.
Hope to see you guys their, the sounds in ultimate are amazing and the weapons are better balanced too!

Hey everyone, we've added some new maps, so if you aren't able to connect than it's because you don't have them.
A link to the new ones is below, kindly provided by my buddy Dranelement

I hope to see you online! we've been having some really good fights lately, between 3 and 6 people on average...

Just to let you guys know that, while Joseph's server was down most of the day, I believe do to the external IP changing, it is now back up.

2018-02-19 20:36:59

hi
what is server adress?

2018-02-19 20:42:55 (edited by defender 2018-02-19 20:47:46)

It's in the server list, Joseph Weakland, the one at the bottom?
You need the latest version of RTR though which you can get from here

Hi.
Sadly, I haven't got any usable replies regarding the issue I'm having with my server. This is the reason for my server isn't up yet...

Abay chal.

Hi all, I've got the latest ultimate RTR running on my win10 64bit machine, but question, what screen reader does it support? When I launched it I had jaws 2018 running and I got nowhere with it. lol
So I do have NVDA loaded on my pc also, should I have that running when I launch RTR? or what. I had a hell of a time trying to shut down RTR down with no speech last night.
Also, what do I need to do to join a server? Thanks I'm still such a newbie as its been such a long time playing this game, and all memory of it has slipped my mind, like so much other shtuff.
smile
Thanks again guys for help answering these questions.

2018-02-21 01:21:28 (edited by defender 2018-02-21 01:22:20)

Works for me with NVDA, surprised it doesn't with Jaws.
I would set your render distance to far, and speed to fast, as long as your not running a really old machine.
Make sure radar beeps are on as well.
After downloading and installing those maps, you can go to start, server list, and the one at the bottom is joseph Weakland's, which is the right one.
Make sure to read the release notes so you know the keys, expect to die allot before hand, KEEP AT IT WITH AIMING AS IT'S HARD AT FIRST BUT THE CLOSER YOU GET TO YOUR TARGET THE EASIER IT IS, and I am going to show people how to set up their own local server to practice navigating maps on soon, as it doesn't need you to be connected to the wider internet, or to forward ports.

2018-02-22 07:42:54

thanks defender for the tips and hints. Btw what do the radar beeps do for ya? And I have to say setting up our own local server to learn maps on would really be mighty helpful!
Lastly, I seriously wish there was a way to reconfigure the keys. After working all day with my hands, this current configuration kills me. In more ways than one! rofl

2018-02-22 08:50:00

so it doesn't work with 32 bit windows? well np, i'll get my laptop tomorrow and then start playing big_smile

Abay chal.

2018-02-22 12:46:59

RTR and JAWS? Nope, won't work. As a general rule, if you want to play games, (people will hate me for this) but use NVDA.

2018-02-23 01:12:19

I don't hate anyone if the devs don't support jaws, I've got NVDA up and running and got the latest acapela voices running on it also.
So no reason to hate.

Radar beeps simply make a steady little beeping sound at your target's location, with volume indicating distance; but people move around allot in RTR and since you can avoid bullets for a split second by jumping anyway, it's really not foolproof, it just helps.
Unfortunately their is no provided way to change the key layout, I find it annoying sometimes too, particularly the fact that I can't use right shift, alt, or control.
It is a pretty common one by mainstream standards though, which is probably what he was going for, and it's probably better left handed while using a mouse in the right hand, because it provides more spacing.

Anyway, here is the practice server, to install it, just delete the server folder in your RTR directory and replace it by extracting the zip file in the same location.
It comes with a readme, but keep in mind that for your client to work with it, you'll need to install the maps from VRStudios.net/RTRMaps.zip first.
