the answer is a positive and resounding, yes!  Not only can you do that, but you can also reset your password if you ever find it is causing any sort of conflict.  Keep that email; it will do you a load of good.

That link in the email is simply for a download of the actual game from Out of Sight's server, so that link isn't going anywhere. I.e it's a static link, which means you can always fall back to it should aw  new version come out and the updater fail.
