BTW: Just to make sure that there's no bug, is it random if you have throne room encounters in a turn or not? For several turns, I had no one and that's okay for me, but I wanted to know if that is normal and can happen.

Ah, another finding. In the Grant library, after entering the Biographie section, the entering text of the reference section showes up, maybe the Biographie text is missing? In the book the goblin Kingdoms it says But among other kin they are highly advanced, it probably means among other kingdoms. And in the book lost artifacts, it says is it said that the demon overlord, I think it is said that the demon overlord is correct. The other typo is a bit later in the book But this long been considered untrue, here is an has missing. And it seems that the game doesn't save automatically each time a turn is ended. Some times I ended the game and started again but was thrown a year backwards.

sounds cool. BTW: I don't know if I menssioned it already, but regarding the sound system if it works like it should, it would be epic if the system could handle something like virtual suround sound or such, so that you can hear the arena action going on around you for example. Would be cool for battles as well or in the future, if you can watch quests and they'd get sounds. If you have good headphones, this could be a great experience, even for celebrations and such were a lot is going on. Another thing why I think weapons will fit greatly in the game is that there is some talk about practicing archery and in the arena, the crowd shoots arrows sometimes as well.

I like that celebration is one of the themes in the next update. That's cool. So, the game world gets balanced out and we have much dark and evil things as well as nice Charakters and places with good things.

@Niklas, some interesting sound concepts, will be looking to eventually add in a custom sound library which should allow for some pretty sweet stuff, but it definitely wont be in the near future.

The celebration stuff is pretty fun to be fair! and I'm glad you like it, I think that's one thing I really want to drive home in warsim, if you want it to be a game of discovery and fun, living a lavish life with the mountains of cash you have by visiting the wonders of the world, enrolling in classes and hosting tournaments and celebrations, you can, If you want to be a harsh warmongering dictator, you can! big_smile

It's that time again folks, thank you for your patience, as seems to be the trend recently this has been a slow update, lots has happened over christmas and I also briefly had an issue with loss of code which had to be rewritten, but finally the update that I wanted to have ready on christmas eve! is here and ready for release!

**LET THE PEOPLE CELEBRATE**

This is the main core of the update, the ability through a new menu on the laws screen to declare your own celebration, giving it any name you want, setting up what kind of celebration it is and then enjoying the fun, maybe you want a celebration about freedom and gift giving, slaves will be freed and people will come to your throne room with gifts, perhaps you want a festival about fire, lots of people will be burned, perhaps you want a big royal ceremony where tons of people arrive to enjoy it! (This is the most fun)

Cool update, it's deffinetly time to have a celebration of bad choices, or llamas or cheese or bald guys or getting the last slice of pizza before anyone else can. lol.
I also really like the new Ozlona related champion names and amusing throne room encounters (as always).
The new dialogs are also a plus for sure, along with the bugfixes.

Sounds like a pretty cool update again, will check it out. A suggestion wich will fit into celebration would be fireworks of different kind and different length and sizes with descriptive texts, this way you could choose if you want fireworks to happen, if it should be a big and long one or small ones, one or several in one celebration etc. Would be a funny thing as well I think.

Hi.

Just giving the latest build a try.
I love the selibration options, and the way you can specify what happens.
A couple of thoughts did occur to me while playing this time though.

Firstly, about the battles.
At the moment the battles are rather uninteresting, the game just says "enemy whatever killed" or "one of your troops killed"

It'd be really cool if battles could reflect how each troop is killed, E.g one of your peasants is riddled with arrows, or "an enemy soldier's helm is split by a heavy axe stroke", or "Enemy troop is impaled by a thrown spear"

Depending upon how detailed you wanted to get with these, you could make them specific to the type of battle, e.g scurmishes could feature lots of messages about distant combat, "enemy troop is taken out by a sniper firing from cover", or "one of your troops runs into an enemy company and is cut to ppieces"


While raiding could involve lots of messages about siege warfare for example "one of your troops is crushed by a falling catapult stone", or "Enemy troop on the wall is hit by a flung grappling hook"

You could even consider specific kill and death messages for some racial types, since it'd be really cool to read "Giant stomps on one of your peasants with his huge foot" or "Witch leans from her flying broomstick and empty's corrosive potion over your troop"


I actually thought of this because one of my allies in the current game are evolved sand rabbits, and I'd love to see sand rabbits hopping enemies to death on the battlefield big_smile.

This combined with the single combat option I think will make battles a lot more fun.

Another thought I had, is at the moment your throne room pretty much has infinite peticianers. Obviously, your the absolute ruler and can see as many or as few people as you like, but for diligent kings it'd be sort of nice if there was a limit each turn and a recognition that you were actually taking time to see people, which would also encourage players to use the throne room more regularly.

So, how about a law to set the number of petitions you will see each turn with choices of 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 or 30.
For every 10 petitions you see, you get an extra point of public opinion, since people know your taking time over them (even if the time you take is to send people to the dungeons or have them murderously killed, (did you know Vlad the impailer was a very popular ruler in his day?).

You could even consider adding a new staff member to deal with peticians, a lord chamberlain, with higher level chamberlains increasing the public opinion gained from seeing peticians and making it more likely rarer and more bennificial events will come up (nothing like a good  to keep people from wasting your time).

Lastly, I noticed that during the crowning ceremony it's firmly said your the king of Aslona. It would be a nice aesthetic choice if you could perhaps be a queen instead? After all if Mrs. Dark were to play warsim she probably wouldn't want to be king big_smile.
I also wonder if the female champion and ruler names ever got added to the game?

That's a nice small update, will check it out. I realy like the suggestions Dark made. In regards to the more interesting battles, it could be made possible that, depending on the armor of the Units, Units can be wounded. There could be even medical Units to help healing Units that get hurt. This way, not all Units have to di instead, ofcourse, depending on what is Happening or what hits them in battle.
