@Niklas, definitely interesting ideas, I'm looking at expanding the custom game options soon but I'm anxious to get the long overdue Baiaa update finished and released as this is probably the longest I've taken to finish something, or at least it feels that way! lots of other stuff on the go...

Hi, great to hear from you again. Oh yes, it's a long period of time, I feel that it is the longest till yet as well. But don't worry, it's okay, since it sounds like a lot of new content coming up with the new area as well. Right now I am ill and stay home for a few days, so I have to rest in my bed for lots of time. So it is good to see a little status update if I can get up and look at my computer to see what's going on. *big smile*. Such things make me happy, even in such times were I can't do much.

regarding the custom game expansions, that could be part of another update as well. I think not everything has to be included in the upcoming one, so no worries.

Hi Wastelander.

What I was thinking was just similar to the graveyard file in the Wastelands however available in game rather than as an out of game reccord. Say your library could be expanded with a historical wing detailing annals of previous rulers of Aslona which you could then read.

If you wanted to have it affect current gameplay, then you could set it up a little differently. Say you could fund a wing of your library to research ancient tomes and when you gave them enough cash for their research, you got a random account of one of your previous games to read which gave you a bonus, eg, if it was a game where you did well with battles your  or troop strength could improve, while if it was a game where you made lots of cash you could get some  by finding the locations of ancient treasurevaults.

On the other hand, if it was a game where you slaughtered a certain enemy race, perhaps another race could hear of their grievance and decide to take it up against you.

@dark, it's a very interesting idea, I'll keep a note of it for when the game doesn't follow a linear-ish world space, at the moment while the surrounding kingdoms are random, aslona and it's pre-history are fairly spelled out, factions like Krut Erak rebels ect exist each time so it would be a little inconsistent where as in the wastes each character could easily exist in the same world, in the future I plan to steer away from Aslona being the center of the game allowing for something like this.

It's a great idea though.

Also so you guys know, the update is nearing completion, I have today finished a procedural monster generator, it generates random beasts with random bodyparts (and descriptions) these beasts fight with move-sets based on what parts they have, ie creatures with sharp teeth can bite, anything with horns and attack with them and so on, the system works really well so I'm excited to see what's to come smile

If you'll steer away from aslona as the centre of the game, will the Player be able to decide in wich style he/she wants to Play and if he wants it the old way with aslona in the Center or in another Play style?

If the beasts can attack with various things, I think it's just consequent if Units can get weapons of different types. Maybe they could even learn different skills and maybe Level up them by Training and such.

@Niklas, yeah it's playing out pretty cool, just gotten done coding diplomacy with the vampires of Baiaa and even allowed for them to run low on slaves and get desperate as well as being weaker and rationing out the blood they have!

It's been a floating idea for a while for the Aslona thing to be reworked, it's quite cemented in the game at the moment but it'll probably go like this after the new game screen

1) Classic Warsim (Aslona)
2) Choose a starting Kingdom (ie orcish tribe, human kingdom, gnome clan and so on)
3) Random Starting Kingdom
4) Play a premade world
5) Set up a custom game

also it's a good idea with the units and such, the battle system will be overworked eventually so it's worth noting down, the combat with monsters is pretty fun though, you'll see a monster with a big sharp tooth filled mouth, big arms and spikes on it's head and watch as it attacks with all three!

@Defender, I would leave it unbalanced, so you could have some races that might be really easy to play as, and some that might be very difficult smile

Cool. Another additional suggestion in regards to the one with the torches in quests I made, another thing the units could do is making fires between the quest or journey for example to make something to eat or such. But that are all suggestions wich could be interesting if you can watch someone performing theier quests, or some of them. It would be interesting I think to see and follow such things, so you can see how they handle various situations and dangers as well, a bit like watching brawls or arena fights. That could be even fun I think.

No problem, i like doing that if it can make the game even better. Great to hear that the update is nearing completion though. BTW: Are more updates planed for this year or will the Baja update be the last one. Wow, that took the longest time till yet I think but I am sure it is worth it.

I like that quest system idea as well, it would be fun to use your champions like that.
The minigame with the mountain climbing knights gives you a taste of that format, and it's pretty addictive even with that.

Hi guys, firstly thank you for waiting, I was expecting this update taking so long to annoy some people but I've had very kind support, the update has taken a while due to several PC issues, bits of code being lost (which I managed to restore) and a few personal issues which have slowed me down a little, but finally after just short of two months the update is ready, it's got tons and tons of new things to even if you ignore the vampire city part of the update! thank you for the continued support and enjoy the update!

**THE CITY OF STONE**

The Crown jewel of the update is something that halfway through development I realized the majority of players won't find unless they are purposely searching for it, which in a way is slightly depressing considering how much work it's taken! none the less this adds an entire vampire city hidden in the canyons of the Drylands, once discovered you'll unleash vampires into the world, trade with them, fight them, arrange deals with them and explore their city, with taverns and bards, hidden towers of magic with mazes, batracing, special buildings and even an arena with beast fights!

I mean I guess I was getting pretty impatient, but wow, that is a stupendous amount of work you've done, truly!
And awesome to hear about Niklas getting his own character too.


Can't wait to battle the vampire units, and see the descriptions of their city.
Plus, these vampire VS hunter and nomad VS demon battles will be really cool to watch I think.
Adviser Fleck and the demon hoard diplomacy options are a nice touch too.
I'm also going to enjoy seeing all these new amusing mad man and angry peasant quotes (LOL) as well as the new books.


Thanks for taking the time to fix so many of the Ascii bugs, it's really appreciated.
