Hi.
I need an accessible tool to expand the partition on a harddrive. I could use diskpart in the console in Windows, but I'm afraid to do that cause i don't wanna brake anything... I thought the disk management tool was more accessible in Windows 10 than the previous versions. I can't access the area where the unused space is shown. Any recommendations are very much welcome.

Best regards SLJ.

I've found that there aren't any honestly accessible disk management tools, The one that comes closest to being accessible that I've used is AOMEI Partitian Assistant.

If there is something better or more accessible, I'd love to hear about it too.

There's Partition Guru, which actually has a commandline supplement, so if you're expanding your own partition's drive, you can ask it to do so while booted into windows, and then it will reboot and automate that process for you without you needing to do anything in the preboot environment.

Wow! That's good to know, I can do command line programs without too much of a problem, as I got started with computers long before Windows or even the Macintosh, when command lines was all there was.

Hi.
@Jack: Thanks a ton for recommending this awesome program.
I've tried to expand my partition which took a while then the computer restarted, but nothing has changed. When I try to do it again, the computer don't restart as it did the first time. Do you have any idea on what's wrong? I have no clue on what to do.

I use manage disks in windows 10 to do this without issue. Unless you're trying to get back something like other OS's ext3 partitions you don't need to go 3rd party in my experiences.

Slj, what version of windows are you using? Mine worked on xp, I can't speak to windows 10 usage though.

@Jack: I'm using windows 10 64 bit.
@serrebi: Oh that's great to hear. Then I must do something wrong. I'm simply trying to expand my partition. Can you tell me step by step how to do this? I'm using NVDA. I can't access the part which shows the unallocated, or unused space on the harddrive.

Best regards SLJ.
