Updated this post to fix the link.

So I've been pretty quiet about what I've working on, but happy to say I feel like I'm comfortable enough with what I've got going on to announce it on the forum.
In 2018, LWorks is going to be releasing Brain Station. it's a collection of word, logic, and math games for Windows. I'm hoping to have over a dozen games which can be played. Part of the fun of the game is to play it every day to try and sharpen your brain.
The idea came to me when I read some articles on the positive effects of computer games on those with Alzheimer's disease. I wondered if a pack of fun educational games could help people with short term memory issues along with sharpening skills like math.
there's a bit more info over at
http://l-works.net/brainstation.php, and I'm hoping to organize some audio demonstrations of the various games. Right now they're scattered over Twitter and YouTube, but my hope is to record some solid demos and have them up on the page.
I don't have a release date or price for the collection yet, but I'm aiming for a q1 2018 release.

Hi,
@Liam: oh wow. Between this, A Hero's Call, and the upcoming Sound of Magic mobile audiogame hopefully coming next year as well, it's looking like 2018 is going to be a year to remember.
I think, if a bunch of audiogames come out next year, I may have to seriously consider the idea I've wanted to do for a while, a year-in review for 2018, but of course that's a while off yet, and I don't know what we've had in 2017 to merit said idea at the moment, but I digress. I am looking forward to everything next year and this is just adding to the excitement, between new devs and you, being what I'd call one of the classic audiogame devs, returning, just wow. My mind's already buzzing.
Hoping you are well.

hi the website says it cannot be found.

Oh wow! This sounds really cool! Can't wait for it to be released! You do have some great games, as old as it is, I still play Judgement Day and enjoy it immensely.

Hi.
Very nice that you post about the upcoming games here on the forum. I'm excited to hear this game will come next year. I can confirm that the link to the website don't work. Keep up the great job.

Best regards SLJ.

Wow awesome, I was waiting for something like that for a long time.

I am myself and noone is ever gonna change me, I am the trolling master!

I'll be looking forward to giving it a try.

This does sound awesome.

Okay, I've had a listen to the demos.
I love the idea of collectable coins and achievements for playing minigames, also I confess that doing the crazy party maths problems has reminded me of how much I used to enjoy mental maths in school, so I'll enjoy the maths games I think.

Just one question, in Math lander, you need to put in the write numbers or the ship will be burned up in the moon's atmosphere? ----- mmmmm, which atmosphere was that?
Or has this moon been terraformed, and if it has! been terraformed  are you attempting a dangerous landing rather than coming in under control in a space port? or is it that they haven't built the space port yet and your carrying supplies to the luna colony to aid in the terraforming effort.
And anyway, how would the moon actually support an atmosphere given it hasn't got the gravitational mass? or are you landing inside a giant dome/

Hmmmm, methinks I might have got a little carried away with this big_smile.

Space Fleet wants you to land on the largest moon orbitting the planet Crag. Crag itself apparently has no useful resources other than deposits of cheese. Space fleet feels it's orbiting moons may have real useful resources like back issues of Play Alien magazine, so they've sent you to land on it and scope it out.
even though you're landing on an orbiting moon which the scientists named Stumpy 13, the moon appears to have an equal gravitational pull to that of the planet Crag. By the way, Stumpy 13 got it's name from Humphry Froozlefross the lead technician on the exploration project. Apparently Stumpy is Humphry's nickname which he earned after a game of strip poker went wrong when he drunkenly bumbled in to the lab's laser cutter. Don't ask. The 13 should be self-explanatory. Anyone who runs in to the laser cutter which by the way was turned off, manages to activate it and cause unspeakable damage to his person while drunkenly playing strip poker is unlucky.
So  okay back to this moon. Star Fleet builds really nice ships, but skimps on most other things including moon landers. They also swapped the standard joystick and pedal combination of pilotting for a navigational computer running on a simple math-based console.
Let's be honest, any space agency concerned about finding Extraterrestrial skin mags instead of trying to mine cheese has some problems. After all, in 2213 the earth suffers a massive cheese shortage. Everyone knows that. Sheesh.
Another major issue with the lander is that it's made primarily out of recycled takeaway boxes. Space Fleet had to cut back where it could I guess.
Anyways. That's a brief explanation of why you're doing what you're doing in Math Lander.

For those who haven't seen it yet, there is a public alpha now posted on the brain station page. http://l-works.net/brainstation.php Worth checking out if you want an idea of what's coming next year.
