Hi.

This message was ent to the entombed list recently, and I wondered if people could help with it, ---- in fact the chap in question asked me to forward the post here in case anyone wanted to contribute:

see how much they know about blind people.  The survey will also
include a
section where sighted people can ask blindness related questions.  I will
also include articles by my wife, myself and any other blind persons
who
would like to submit articles that answer the questions in the survey in
an
informative manner.  I will also include sections such as true blind stories
which tell outragious encounters and experiences by blind people.  For
example, the bus driver was lazy and didn't do his job and my wife
missed
her stop and when she confronted him, he said, "its your fault, you
weren't
looking!"  We are also doing a section called something like is there really
no such thing as a stupid question?  What we are looking for are some of
the
most unbelievable questions blind people have been asked such as, "who
takes
care of you?", "Aren't you glad the television networks have started
close
captioning with a lot of their programming?", or "Have you thought
about
going to fill in the blank university?  I heard they have wheel chair ramps
and wide door ways."  If you are interested in writing an article,
answering
blindness related questions, submitting a true blind story, or an
unbelievable question, please send a message to
[email protected]
Feel free to write and submit things or to ask any questions you may
have on
the above address.  Although I did get permission to post this message
on
the list, Please do not respond on this list since it is off topic.  Also,
If you do not indicate weather or not you want credit for your
contributions, then I will not include your name with your work since
this
project is done anonymously unless people choose to include their
names.
Thank you for your time and hope to hear from some of you guys.

Hopefully this will be a useful site, and I trust Zhi to make a decent job of it (I've already contributed ome stuff myself).

With our dreaming and singing, Ceaseless and sorrowless we! The glory about us clinging Of the glorious futures we see,
Our souls with high music ringing; O men! It must ever be
That we dwell in our dreaming and singing, A little apart from ye. (Arthur O'Shaughnessy 1873.)

Reminds me of the time someone asked me if I couldn't have laser correction for my eyes. Obviously they don't know what laser correction actually does, as in it only helps with focusing not with anything else.
