Hi Chad,

I just wanted to welcome you to the forum, and if you could, please post about your game on the Eyes-Free Android List as well, since there are more blind Android users over there than here.

PS. I purchased your game, and will give it a spin.

@Raiden I'm afraid I have no idea what you mean here accept that you like a blind legend but not this game, which is rather confusing big_smile.

Myself, I'd say there is no problem with audio arcade/action games provided that the  gameplay has enough to it to be interesting and doesn't just turn into another boppit.

I will say I am a trifle disappointed in some members of the community here  remember this place exists to promote audiogames and that is not going to happen if people bash anything that a developer, especially someone who has not made audiogames before first creates.

With our dreaming and singing, Ceaseless and sorrowless we! The glory about us clinging Of the glorious futures we see,
Our souls with high music ringing; O men! It must ever be
That we dwell in our dreaming and singing, A little apart from ye. (Arthur O'Shaughnessy 1873.)

gamers dark is absolutely correct. do not, and I repeat do not bash the developer or project if you dislike the game, that is exactly how to run devs away. remember devs don't have to make games with the audio community in mind. lets be humble appreciative and respectful. you can give some pros and cons and suggestions about the game that will assist in game development and improvements. lets be adults here people

I'm eager to try this. when it comes  out on IOS are there any similar games to a blind legend  which bythe way I've still not beaten cause i keep fallingthrough the ice lol. but yeh.

2017-06-10 22:01:09

Guess it's time to rush that iOS port. :-)

I appreciate everyone sticking up for me, haha. In truth, you're the boss. A developer can pout over irate players, or they can solve the problem. The detailed feedback gives direction.

Flame Elcaemist, to play the game with talkback on, just use 2 fingers instead of 1 for each gesture. Since Talkback only does linear gestures, 2finger gestures are really a passthrough to the screen and are not processed by Talkback. I still recommend turning off talkback, which is really simple if you just turn on that shortcut to hold the volume keys to suspend Talkback. What android phone are you running, anyway?

You can hold the volume buttons about 3 seconds to get talkback suspended and 3 seconds again for talkback resumed.

I am myself and noone is ever gonna change me, I am the trolling master!

No way!!! another LG K20 fan? Awesomeness!

I'll post a seperate thread about my experience with it.

As for the game itself, I'm liking it lots! Still getting use to how it works, I must say its quite fun to play!

I have 25/20 vision. One thing I'm learning to consider in addition to game play is assistive technology. Some things you can't predict until a game is published. I'm glad you are enjoying the game, Trenton Goldshark! Which parts are giving you trouble? I will fix them for the iOS port. Please consider leaving a review on Google Play.

Hi Chad,

I'll have to test it more thorally once I get a slightly better pair of earbuds/ headphones, as the ones I have are apple ones and I primarily use an LG phone which I mentioned earlier. smile
BTW, if the Google Groups interface isn't to your liking, you can also sign up for the Eyes-Free list by sending a blank message to:
[email protected]
, and post to the list using:

I'll keepyou posted with my progress.

How would you all classify this game? I chose the action genre, but would Beat 'Em Up be more specific?

2017-06-14 16:47:03

Hello.
First 100% accessible blind mobile game for google play... Did anyone notice that? Heh heh.

Is there an iOS version available?

Thanks.

The IOS version is coming.

Best regards SLJ.
Feel free to contact me privately if you have something in mind. If you do so, then please send me a mail instead of using the private message on the forum, since I don't check those very often.

As of now I'd say arcade since it isn't necessarily a hack-n-slash just yet, more or less a reaction game, but if you take it further it could be an action or beat-em-up.

2017-06-15 22:26:24

Hello,
After I defeat the demon, the game freezes. Is that because it is still incomplete, or is it some kind of bug?

I attack with the savagery of a thousand piranhas.

2017-06-16 01:55:24

Two things. I tried this game on a braillenote Touch, an android tablet with stereo speakers as well running android 4.4. I've encountered this once, but the game silently crashed right when it was about to play the drumroll for level 1. Also, this is merely a suggestion, but could you add in the ability to have swiping down on the screen count as swiping left, and swiping up on the screen count as swiping right? Reason being that when you're using a braillenote touch, the screen is in landscape when in the normal orientation, and so you have to swipe down and up to swipe left or right respectively in a portrait-oriented app.

2017-06-17 02:23:52

I apologize for the crashing. That should not happen. Please tell me which devices you are playing on. Jack, I will add up-and-down swiping to the next update.

2017-06-27 15:34:30

This silent crash only happens on a Braillenote Touch tablet, technically a Texas Instruments Omap4 board running android 4.4.2. It doesn't happen on my nexus6p running the android o dev beta. However, that hanging when the boss was defeated, happens to me as well.
