Hi guys.

since swamp is kinda going down to the road, we need a new addictive that contains guns, bombs, destroying etc lol

i m joking though what are youradvices on action games?

careless weather it's paid or free, what  do you play these days?

i don't want to disrespect game programmers, but i don't like games with text or aliens or things like that.

ok here you put your opinions.

Redspot (takes a while to get good at and it has some balance issues) but other than that, as long as you don't let some of the asshole players get to  you, and if you don't try to build a base expecting it to last, you should be fine.
RTR (even if you can't find a server you can always just make your own and play with a few friends) it isn't that hard to set up, and the game is still pretty good even today.

TDV2 (it's free now, which is pretty cool) you can get it from the topic in new releases, just make sure to get the one from post 12, not post 1, since it's newer, and if your going to play online, use server.coolfortheblind.dk. It's very fun, doesn't take long to get good at if you've used flight simulators before either. But almost all of the voice acting is so bad that at points it will make you want to kill your self just to escape it, and the story is, very, very stupid, as if it were written by a 12 year old.

Operation Blacksquare (for me at least) it's very hard, you die fast, and it's often difficult to line up with items to pick them up. But the sound design is great, the story is pretty good for that type of game, and it's still fun.
Bloodshed, Release the pain (not many people know about this one) it's a very simple game but it can be quite addictive, it's one of Sam Tupy's creations.
Battlezone (yep this one is still around) it works better without Peter's mod, and the first boss is still broken, but you can play it just fine anyway.
Super Liam (you can get this for free now) it's old, comparatively easy on most levels, and doesn't have random enemy spawning, but it can still be somewhat fun, especially if you haven't played it for a while.
World of war (this is pretty addictive) even if the trophies and movies are in Japanese, it's quite hard on the higher levels too.
Audio Quake with the Starwars mod (it can still be fun) but it can be really hard to get started and it's old as hell, plus their aren't many people on. Still, the chaos is wonderful...

I think that's all we've got for free bombs and guns action games right now, at least reasonably playable ones that are finished.

We also have The Gate and Psycho Strike, but allot of people dislike those and they are quite expensive for what you get.
You can get the Zompocolips and Parilis Hearts concept demos, they aren't too bad, but they are obviously short and won't be developed any more.

There is humans vs robots which is in beta at the moment but struck me as a pretty good idea for an online game ala swamp. It has issues but is worth a look if you fancy that type of thing.

also for a pure action fest, psycho strike from vg storm.
There are lots of mash the buttons type games around (battle zone being one), but for me psycho strike had good enough actual mechanics to be interesting, plus of course the hole slaughter people  manage criminals thing is just waaaaay over the top and silly, great for taking out your frustration in an amusing way.

On a more serious note I'd recommend The Gate from Vg storm though if your not into games where you fight ghosts and gremlins and such that might not be your cup of tea, particularly since as it's set in the medieval period there are no guns or bombs or what not. Both of those are commercial games.

There is then Copter mission from Oriol gaming zone. Oriol has done a great job with all of his games, and if your looking for an arcade action fest with exploding buildings, missiles and such this might be a good one to try.

I would also highly recommend both Zero sight and it's expantion pack, zero sight extended opperations from Shard workshop.
I don't know why these games arent' more frequently discussed, since they rock. Difficult aircraft sim games that will take a while to master, where you can fully customize your aircraft, handle variosorts of missiles and bombs, and best of all have a lot of randomness.

In the main zero sight game even though you have standard missions taking them  can change drastically due to things like weather conditions, enemy activity etc. And then in the extended operations version you even get randomly generated missions too where you have to destroy enemy aircraft.

Really if your in to flight sims, I very much recommend these, tough games to learn but well worth the time, they're commercial  but there is a demo available.

Then of course, you can't go wrong with the classics, namely Gma tank commander and Shades of doom. Gma tank commander particularly might very well bbe what your looking for if you want a lot of action with modern weaponry.

Of course there are lots more action games out there, but these are ones I'd personally recommend as having a little more in their gameplay to be addictive than just hammer buttons as fast as possible.

Some games that I would have suggested in the past aren't around any more sadly, as in, you can't buy them.
Mostly Treasure Hunt and Q9

You could also try Angelgift, I forgot about that one, great sounds and good voice acting, but it's pretty slow paced and repetitive.
There is Palace punch up as well, it's another Blast Bay game, it's really fun online especially, though it's best when your playing on the same local network, as with most online titles.
Judgement day is quite good, it's not that hard in my opinion, but the movies are hilarious, and it's got good sounds. I don't know if you can buy it though.
We also have the new Tombhunter, it's in new releases, mostly platforming and not as much action, but there is some.
Sonic invaders is really old but still awesome and quite hard, and it seems to run just fine on new systems, try agarchive.net for that one.
Same with Dark Destroyer, though I can't get it to run, I think you need an old version of Java or something.
Alien outback is another good one, with nice sounds and a few funny moments, though it can really drag on, I don't know if you can still buy it or not.
I liked crime hunter, but I'm not sure where you get that now.
Screaming strike is pretty great for some mindless fun, and it gets quite challenging, even if it's super simple. Plus the sounds are hilarious.
BK2 and BK3 are both very good and long games as far as I've heard, but I think BK2 has no translation ability at the moment, and BK3's translation isn't finished yet, though I believe it's pretty close.

That's all I've got for now, but remember that you can also just make your own campaigns in Swamp with SCS. You don't have to do anything complicated, and it will probably only take a couple of hours to learn the basics, if that, just simple things to amuse your self with, it can be pretty fun.

Fyi, Alien outback is definitely still possible to buy, and Judgement day has been released as freeware I believe, so no problem with either of those.
