check on applevis , I believe they have a potcast for this game.
can't tell you this is worth to buy or not, though, since I never try it myself.
but peapols says it is worth it so yeah big_smile

Firstly as well as the applevis podcast there is also This one from some idiot called dark

which is intended as an intro to the game (particularly because the Applevis podcast does mention some accessibility bugs that are now fixed).

Secondly,King of dragon pass is bloody awesome, though bare in mind it is neither an easy nor simple game.
If you want a really coplex semi rpg, semi strategy game, semi interactive story with a somewhat steep learning curve, go ahead, but if your just looking for your general action fest or stat up and level character this probably isn't the game for you.

third King of dragon pass is really! bloody awesome! big_smile.

fourth, your post makes me really want to  play it big_smile , any discount or promo for the game ?,  cause that game is reaaaaaaaaaly expensif on my country smile

Often the game seems to be on offer, though I'm never sure why, I just recall the odd discount, it's probably wise to keep an eye on.

I can say though that the game is very! long lasting, even the short game you will be hooked for days, let alone the long one, and every game is very different, so it's worth paying a little extra for.

Hopefully my intro podcast should give you an idea of the game.

@angel, I'm afraid not, there is an android port of the game but it was created by a third party developer, and though I believe there was some attempt to contact that developer about accessibility nothing ever materialized.

@flame_elchemist, Eurmal is the trickster god.
As I said often the Kodp wiki is your friend for bits of info like this for example The gods list is here

I'm afraid if I remember rightly the music can either be on or of, but not turned down, I played on earbuds myself, though I will say Vo's audio ducking is pretty good too.

There is no king flaemalchemist.
Orlanthe is the storm father, and if you decided to dedicate your tribe to Orlanthe you will already have a shrine to him.
Orlanthe has some useful blessings both for combat and for your crops and you'll  to sacrifice to quite a bit for his mysteries in order to do hero quests, though I'm always a big fan of iseries the talking god. Also note that Venga the goddess's wayfarer blessing is very handy for exploring, and some of Ernalda the earthmother's blessings can be very useful for building up your herds, while of course Humact the god of death has some handy blessings if you get into fights.

Actually one thing I'll say is that few gods in the game are useless, for example the knowing god's blessings like literacy don't look that useful on the surface, but you'd be surprised how often matters of custom make a difference.

Iseries would be my personal recommendation, since that will help you build up your trade goods and crops and thus be able to build more temples later, but there is no hard and fast rule on these things, like a lot of things in Kodp it's a case of playing it by ear and seeing what comes.

The one thing I will say is make sure to become familiar with the gods, even if you just remember them by title, eg, the knowing god, the earth mother or the sun defender, since you'll be having a lot of events covering them, and the advice of  ring members will  tend to be coloured by whom they worship (worshippers of the earth mother can be hilariously single minded).

hi guys,

I just bought the game after listening to dark's review.

I must admit it seems a lot more confusing playing it for the first time, for example, when I get the mini events in the game I get 4 possible replies but 3 are always dimmed only allowing me to give only 1 response which I find strange.

I also think I should never have just jumped straight in, I think I should have started on tuition mode because I have no idea how the bless system works or even how the seasons pass.

it does not seem very intuitive to me, although in fairness I am a bit thick, the fact I paid 10 whole british pounds for it though means I will try my damdest to eventually understand this game.

if there is a guide called king of dragon pass for idiots please point me in the direction. thanks

You might have started tutorial, that's why the buttons are dimmed.

2017-05-14 18:16:13

@Shrike, I don't know why choice buttons would be disabled unless you really are playing in tutorial mode, generally the only time you see disabled choice buttons in KoDp is if it is an event you have already taken choices in.

The thing with choices is to consult yuour clan ring as much as possible, and while you need to take their advice with the odd pinch of salt (worshippers of Humact always tend to want to go to war, while worshippers of Ernalda have a positive obsession with farming and children), it is usually good advice since inevitably your clan ring will know more of what to do in a given situation than you do.

There is no beginner's for dummies, but there is This page on the KoDp wiki which, though it is very imcplete does have links to lots of the other pages on useful concepts, eg, how combat works, how seasons work etc, plus of course feel free to ask questions (I'm glad the podcast was useful, that was what I recorded it for).

for example, there are five seasons, sea, fire, earth, dark and storm. every season you get two turns. Each turn you can do an action like sacrificing to the gods, building fortifications, recruiting more weaponthaness, sending out a trade or diplomatic mission etc. You can also use the season wheel to skip turns which is actually a good idea sometimes since you don't want  to spread your resources too thin.

independently, whether you take a turn or skip, you will get events, these are the little gamebook like story sections, which don't take up your turn time, but where you do need to make important choices.

The main thing to remember about seasons is that there are better times for doing certain things. Sea season is like spring, it's when crops are plantedexploring and sending out negotiations goes well and if you do a raid you catch people unawares, however if you send out too many people not enough crops will be planted and you might be in trouble later.

fire season is like summer. Not a lot else is happening so you can do what you like, though it's the traditional raiding season so if you send out a  your chances of catching the enemy napping are low.

Earth season is like autumn everyone is harvesting, it's even more important  to send too many people off raiding.

Dark season is like winter. usually you can't leave your tula at that time, so no expeditions or raids, though if you choose the ice demons as your traditional enemy you get the ability to raid in dark season (a favourite tactic of mine since the enemy usually aren't prepared).

Storm season you can do pretty much what you like but it's especially good for hero quests.

Personally generally what I do is look at my current situation, eg if there is an enemy to pound on, if I want to try and make peace with a clan with favours, if I want more trade or to build another temple, then check and see if it is the best season to do that thing, and if not, wait until later (in Kodp patience is usually your friend).

hth, any other questions, please ask.

while I'd never claim to be a Kodp expert, I have spent many happy hours with the game big_smile.

Dark's English is perfectly clear. Well, most of the time anyway. ;-)

Of course, if you were referring to the spam posts, they're gone now. I just nuked them. I have no idea why it even worked, since the IPs are listed in SPS. We should look into that.

Just myself, as usual.

Hi. I was just going to buy this game but I was wondering, does voice over still work properly with this game in ios 10?

Thanks.
