Hi,
Would someone please be so kind and tell me what was turnamment of the

9 kings and what got wrong?
I think that flaming game developers won't

help. Take Toopspeed 2 as an example. It was said: late summer release. No

we have a new year and I hope, that it will be out

soon.

hi mike. ok, where's your game?
you keep bitching so, proove your

worth. i expect a trailer of your super duper game, smerk, on friday by five

PM eastern.
I expect a trailer up at that time, and a manual and whatever

else you can put up by then

2006-01-04 01:42:39

hi,

And what if Mike wont be able to put up a trailer on his site? Will

you sue him for "not doing what I said"?

nWell we'll see, but its Mikes

choice... If he does not want to take the time to make a trailer, he does

not have to.
On the other hand, he might decide to put up a

trailer...

He did put up a trailer in early 2005.

won't come out...

All

I can say is I understand why more developers don't post here. If Justin

from BSC had posted on here regarding Castle Quest and this was what he got

I'd be surprised if he didn't get a little depressed. Granted I think

he's above haulting a project just because of a few flames but I would

imagine it would still get extremely depressing if it kept up.

But wait, what's that? A transport! Saved am I! Hark, over here! Hey nonny non, please help!

2006-01-04 10:53:02

joh, yeah, i forgot about castlequest.
that sounds like a good game. there

aren't enough games like that really.
they're all tending to go for

sports and sci fi games.

hi, to answer your question, tournament

of the nine kings was a fighting game that kylef was going to

release.
after dropping the project he went back to it and decided to retry

making it.
however because of all the doubting posts and bitching that went

on, he became so depressed he dropped the project again.
the post is

probably still around, look through the arkive links on the forum.

Uhm

Mike? Whether Kyle was in fact lying or not is no longer relevant since we

have no game from Orio anymore. I shouldn't say this, but whether there

even was a game or not, at least he had a trailer that actually sounded

interesting and promised a game that maybe, just maybe, would be here now if

some people hadn't started raising a stink. And where's your game? Nowhere

on your site does it say anything about it except for a minimal story and a

little note that it's "coming soon!" I know because yes I've been there

several times. I am an aspiring game developer, but having no games out yet

I have no site to clutter up the internet with useless junk. And if this

sort of nonsense keeps up we'll lose more developers. I wouldn't be the

least bit surprised if the real reason James hasn't released Monty is that

he's just so fed up with everyone on here bitching and moaning. I'm not

saying that's very mature but it's completely understandable. That said

I'll shut up for a little while.

But wait, what's that? A transport! Saved am I! Hark, over here! Hey nonny non, please help!

2006-01-05 05:03:55

Exactly...

Mike that post was totally heartless. I have an updated

trailer of the full game. As in the version which was actually out, for the

people he decided to send it to, none of which are people who are gamers. He

actully didn't send it to anyone, but he did show it to his friends. I will

send the trailer to anyone who wants it. And then, if those people who will

hear the trailer don't believe it, then you can start another topic.

I

agree with that last post Assault Freak. Mike's last post was completely

and utterly heartless. No wonder KyleF got so depressed. All I can say is if

people like him don't watch their mouthes we're gonna lose those

developers we still have, maybe even the ones who don't come on here. Word

has a way of spreading.

But wait, what's that? A transport! Saved am I! Hark, over here! Hey nonny non, please help!

2006-01-05 17:36:06

I still don't understand why people think if they complain about a game's

release it will not come.  That logic to me is really childish.  There's no

need for a developer to teach us a lesson - all s/he needs to do is release

the game.  Who cares if people are complaining?  Prove them all wrong if you

have a product to sell, don't try and stop people complaining - at least

you have people willing to buy your product if you ever release it.  I do in

some ways feel as unimpressed as most here - James hasn't released anything

new that actually existed since early 2003, and he actually has made

promises about games' releasedswhich were broken.  While I don't know why

and don't want to assume it was out of laziness since for all I know he

could've broken up with his wife and saved his father from being hit by a

car.  So in conclusion, complaining is annoying - almost as annoying as

complaining about complaining.

James

2006-01-05 22:53:53

I

agree with James. Developers getting depressed because of complaining? No!

That would only make them more determined to release the game. Maybe they'd

be a little discouraged, but other than that...

You're assuming of course that everyone has that emotional makeup, which

not everybody does. Maybe then they shouldn't be developers but who's

gonna tell 'em what to do?

But wait, what's that? A transport! Saved am I! Hark, over here! Hey nonny non, please help!

2006-01-06 08:25:45

i

don't fully agree, because if you guys all keep complaining about the game

you would have said no come on, don't be childish and release the game but

if you say that you probably don't know how the guys would feel if everyone

is doubting and all. and in my opinion, assault freak is not a liar, and if

he says kyle isn't lying, then he probably isn't.
and Yep, no one can

fully tell someone what to do, if they don't release the game because of

doubting and complaining, that's their problem.

2006-01-09 04:47:36

Well, I won't say that is odd...

James I kinda agree with, but

yeah, as Brian said, he's assuming that the devs had have emotional

things...

And, again, I have an updated trailer, and if anyone wants it,

post here and I'll send it. Problem solved... I think.

For

heaven's sake. A game is just a game. I know we enjoy these things, but

it's not serious enough to cause these reactions.

Your reactions would

be warranted if say Tony Blair, or in your case George Bush, declared he

would remove all schemes designed to aid people with sensory or physical

disabilities in education, work and society. This reaction isn't warranted

for a *GAME*

Edit:
I totally agree with Jayde's comments earlier. Also,

if this wasn't such a small market and community some of the comments could

be potentially liabel. I don't think an audio game developer would act on

them, as I stated the market is small and it wouldn't look good, it is

still very wrong. If this was Microsoft and people were claiming that

Longhorn didn't really exist in a major area where a large amount of the

market could see it, they'd be in court. Fortunately for everyone

mainstream software isn't as affected by each individual forum or mailing

list as much as audio games.

ok, we're all agreed, making comments like what's been going on are

wrong.
then why don't we all just stop posting here, bitching and rebuking

at eachother, what with these back and forth slanging matches it's becoming

a breeding ground of argumentative spamm.
don't ya think?
just let the

post die, and if james comes up with monty then we can alert one and other,

until then stop the argumentative spam flow.

I'm

not complaining! I'm tellingthe freaking truth! Why does every topic, btw

this topic wasn't even posted by me, turn in to people blaming me for

complaining? Gosh I wish Blindgamers was a forum, cause thats where real

audio gamers post.

Mike:
I left the blindgamers list because people were doing nothing but

complaining about off topics and original messages at the bottom of the

email. I noticed people complaining that someone hadn't deleted the

original message when replying, so I made sure to always delete it in

mine... only to have someone complain they couldn't see what I was replying

to. I'm not going to weed out just the oldest original messages when

there's a string of a dozen at the bottom.

I don't have anything

against anyone who uses blindgamers, I just found it wasn't for me. All

I'm saying is that blindgamers is not much better than here, if at all in

my opinion.

And saying you don't believe a game even exists *does* count

as complaining. You have no evidence that it doesn't. It not arriving is

*not* evidence that it doesn't exist. If you get your so called games

company working in the future you'll realise that 99% of development

projects don't go as planned. Take it from me, I've actually had formal

education in software development by people who have done it for a living.

2006-01-11 03:32:35

CX2, you're right...

If the game doesn't come out, and he says

why it hasn't come out, what else other than complaining? As to 99% of the

projects not going right, true. I've found this out hte hard way. It's not

only development, school has the same afect. A few weeks ago, me and a few

of my friends were making a project for science class, and let's just say

around 60% wasn't what we'd hoped it would be...

I think that comes

close to what we're discussing. Tell me, anyone else, if you

agree...

Thank You.

First

OI'd loike to add that no developer has to explain why a game didn't come

out, but it would help to maintain a good reputation and show concern for

the customer base.

Secondly I'd like to say that with the other topic

titled Alchemy Studio News showing this game is out, can any doubters please

leave this and that topic alone. There's no need to carry this on further

in my opinion.
