I have a question. How do you move a Mutariansi ship that you bought when you do not have the correct upgrade? Putting on the spacesuit does not help you at all. For some reason, I thought a spacesuit would help you survive a Mutariansi ship, but I am clearly wrong.
Welcome to the easter event.
What can I do?
1. Chat to the bunnies. There are bunny rabbits chilling out in Star command, Sahariana, earth, the easter island and somewhere else... Can you find him?
2. Capture the bunnies!
On earth, if you enter the ocean via boat, and move to 23 23 0, there is a mooring called easter island.
Mooring up to that, will find you on a magical island.
IF you go to the center of the forest, you will ffind an oak.
Enter the oak to go to a land of mystery and magic.
Playing capture the bunny is easy. You have two minutes to run around, capturing as many bunnies in a randomly-generated area as you can. when you're done, you'll receive a prize based on your number of bunny captures!
enter oak: enter the oak
out: at the end of the trail, will leave the mission
capture <bunny>: capture a rabbit.
3. Basket wishes. The easter bunny spoke to me yesterday while I was eating dinner. He said "n8, if you can make me some baskets and a few wishes, I'll give you a hand in making people custom items, [within reason]. This can be a donator item, or otherwise, but has to fit the following two rules: 1. It must be usable and logical in the 25th century [no pet dragons, it's rude!] 2. It must not be game system changing[no new jump system... Unless it's a mind blowing idea]"
To make a wish, head over to the easter island[see above] and buy a basket.
Type wish <basket> to make a wish.
The easter bunny will collect them some time either tomorrow or monday and see what he can do.
I have scattered five eggs around the mud, each one giving you a special clew.
the first egg is on the planet without rain. Can you find the rest? 10 levels, 750 billion credits, and 1000 roleplay points if you do!
You may not share any of the eggs locations with each other. Anyone who is found doing so will have double the above reward taken away.
During easter sunday we will be playing host to the mutant eggs and rabbid rabbits. So be warned!
There are, obviously, easter eggs you can buy on the easter challenge, and you may see bunnies doing some trivia over sunday afternoon and evening!
Finally, on easter island, you can tame yourself a little bunny rabbit pet!
Get them while they last!
Enjoy the easter event.
the hosts of cosmic rage.
Nice from what I have seen. I have been watching from the side. I have also been handing out tacticle areys. Anyway, I have a suggestion or two when it comes to tacticle areys after I have been playing with it a little bit. I am wondering what the thoughts of others are on these suggestions. What have I missed.
Now for my suggestion and or suggestions.
Why not have ships with tacticle areys link those areys with a factory. Sort of giving each factory a bit of a fleet almost. Maybe each factory's owner may want to make sure that the sector of and in self is clear alonng with handleing debris runs and the likes.
Also, why not allow aircraft get linked to shipsthat have tacticle areys. My think here is that pilots may wish to run fleets of these off of their ships. Then again, pilot may have someone launch aircraft from their ship and then launch to clearsector and or destract the fo while the aircraft come up from behind.
You could also have tacticle alerts sent to all ships with these installed if needed.
Anyway, what have I missed?
I was never much into space themed games, but this thread has sold me on Cosmic Rage!
It sounds amazing!
I think I will especially like the crafting and customization.
I'm just sorry I missed the bunnies. :-)
Just a few changes and announcements:
[announcement] from n8: good evening folks. I have a change to skills that will hopefully brighten up your day significantly. Bringing you skill authorisation! Skill authorisation is not as daunting as it sounds, so here me out on this one. A skill authorisation level is literally, a number, that a skill is categorised into. Ground combat, for example, is authorisation 1, while misc skills are authorisation 6. Authorisation really, is not the right word for it, but I couldn't think of anything else. So, what does this mean for you players? 1. Info no longer shows the skill timer. 2. Train-time has been changed slightly, but most importantly, 3. skills from different categories have their own independent timer! You heard me, folks! LEts say you wanted to raise ship weaponry, and ground combat, on the old system, you'd have to choose, and wait an hour for it to reset, by which time, the events over and there's no point. But seeing as ground combat is auth 1, and starship weaponry is auth 3, you now can. Enjoy! and happy skilling!
Wednesday, 19 April 2017 21:33 n8: roundtime when training skills has been capped at 10 seconds now
Sunday, 16 April 2017 00:53 n8: hello folks! I've just changed babies a bit. So, emotes: 1. They now have roughly 5 race-specific emotes that they will perform randomly. Please assist if your baby is not human to get it set correctly. 2. You can now set your own, up to 20, emotes for your baby! Type emotes <baby> to do this
I apologise for the double post, but this had to be done:
[announcement] from n8: hello folks! Now available on star command and harmonia, I bring you... automatic reloading drones! These handy little drones do exactly what they say on the tin, you bolt them down in a room, and they'll reload your missiles, torpedos and/or plasma missiles for you automatically! You will need one per weapon room. Enjoy!
Interesting. I will hve to pick up a few of those drones. On the other hand, I am at level 762 trying to figure out how best to level up.
I never knew I could have so much fun with a space game!
I love all the customization, and how the activities for leveling are interesting instead of repetitive.
And the mining drones are cute!
I do wonder about combat though. I just tried a mission, and nothing happened when I fired my laser pistol. I wonder if I'm under some kind of newbie protection.
I don't have the building skill yet, but I'll be excited for that one, considering all the ways the it lets you customize things so far.
In the last 24 hours, I have discovered:
that there is an OOC channel specifically devoted to book talk
that you can have a farm on Cosmic Rage
that roleplay classes are offered
This Mud wins on so many levels!
As for the creative bit, I am currently setting out sofas and the like to try to make my factory look like it could be upgraded to a star base or spacestation. Yes, I am trying to come up with a good RP area for pilots to come around and relax watching TV, spinning a wheel and playing dartboard. To say that I am laying out part of my factory for time wasters is a bit of a under statement. Now if I can get all of my descriptions wrote and in place, that would be a major plus. I am letting another player come up with the descriptions, but if they do not get done with them, I will have to find someone else to finish the job. Nothing aginst them of course. The funny thing is, they have a good idea of what kind of thing I am looking for when it comes to descriptions, but getting across the fact that I want others coming out asap just to have a look around and hang out is something I am hoping for... Anyway, I might deside to use the factory as a plot line, but I may deside not. It all depends on rather or not I am planning on doing something crazy that requires me to have a base to run off to or not. LOL.
is there a soundpack for mushclient?
As far as I know there's not, yet, correct me if I am wrong. I wasn't following this topic for some time.
Let me address things here, one by one:
first, @Mirage thank you for your kind words, you have, quite literally, made my week!
Next up, mush pack.
I hear a rumour, it's only a rumour, but a rumour none the less that a basic mush pack may or may not have been released, literally, last night. I've not had a chance to ask about yet, so don't quote me on that.
Next up, events, we have simply loads of events upcoming, some of which I've listed below:
event name: player poatching
Welcome to player poatching, Cosmic Rage's first ever PVP orientated event!
In this event, starting at May 1st, 00:01, and running till May 1st, 23:59, we will be watching the PVP Arena.
At the end of the event, who ever has killed the most guards, will receive a massive £10 in donator cash to spend on any, you heard me, any donator item in the list!
not only that, but the owner of the PVP Arena at the end of the event will also receive £5 of donator cash!
Join me, in player poatching!
event name: rescue mission
A while ago a civilian by the name of Marshall Ritchhart pushed, and pushed, and pushed.
Eventually, Kayla snapped, and sent him off to go and live on the frontlines, to live the life, to fight the fight.
Now, however, it's all gone wrong. One desperate message, one single, cry for help.
Can you find Marshall and the remaining officers before the Vacus do?
Saturday, 29 April 2017 00:16 n8: hello folks! I'm done overhauling player run shops, so feel free to play around and break all the things once again. I've made it so that shop items vertualise, which means, you got it, you won't lose blueprints when there's cleanups! anyway... let me know if things break and what not. oh and, enjoy!
Sunday, 30 April 2017 12:31 n8: hello folks. I'm proud to bring you cosmic rage's latest development into soundpacking. Version checks! As of the latest update to Erra's pack, and a soon to come update of Sierra's, you will now be able to type, providing you have the channel on, sp version to see if you are running the latest version of the pack! For the coders who are interested, the version is stored in a variable within the pack, the pack then has a trigger for which it prints this command to the mud on command. You might argue that yes, its a bit crude, but hey, if it works, it works! For the not coder users, here are some handy commands: 1. @soundpacks. To register what pack you are usin, type @soundpacks, and answer yes to the question. 2. To check the version, type sp version. 3. For soundpack admins, to update the moo that there has been an update, type @spupdate. Help file soon to follow! Enjoy!
Sunday, 30 April 2017 16:33 n8: hello folks! Suggested by annellin, and with help from our well-loved angelica, I bring you our latest camping development... Grilling! In grilling you have the opportunity through the training of your skill to prepare and cook a vast variety of foods.Adding that extra bit to camping, grills allow you to immerse yourself in what it's really like to be in a forest with nothing but a grill and a tent for company. Naturally, there is a help file on it, help grilling. The grills are very customisable, with options for where the food is stored, what it looks like, what description you want it to have, ETC, and as always, I hope you enjoy!
Uu, well, even if it's only a rumour, I'm happy to hear that! Since vip stopped working on my pc at all, I can't access the game.
O am sorry that vipmud stopped working on your PC Luciana. I think you might like some of the things that came about. dardar, I do not know about you, but the release of the Premium Miner prove to be worth while to me. It is making the collection of some of the resources I wish to collect alot easyer. Did I just say that? I guess that would be a a mistake on my part seeing that something will most likely happen to make it harder again, like maybe raise the amount of said resources required for some of the things I wish to make. I did buy a player made mod that I installed for this ship and cargo space I have makes the collection of minerals a bit easyer. I do find it interesting how each of the different players seemed to have worked themselves into a slot. Some sell one thing while others sell something else. It all seems to work out somehow and that is one thing I like about this mud. The power play like there is on other muds do not seem to be there or not all that bad. There is even a place selling tacticle areys and someone else have been giving them away too. Plus the rift satelites and the weapons along with the different places to get drinks and food. I personally have been running some missions of late and sort of found them fun in away.
First, I can confirm there is now a mush pack available for Cosmic rage!
It can be downloaded via the @soundpacks channel in game.
Second, @cw, you will be delighted to know, for the forseeable future, I have not got any plans to edit blueprint requirements.
Thirdly, I wanted to just update the thread with one or two things that might have been missed. While I do not have the announcements to hand, I hope this will do:
*Bombing runs: There is now a specialist mission in which you can take a ship and go blow up spy satellites in bombing runs
*new ship, the vacus have a new ship, and its deadlier than ever!
I would also like to congratulate Sierra Gar, the winner of this months player poatching event! Not only did she kill over 200 arena guards, but also managed to hold the arena for the night that the arena over ran, finishing up as its claimer at the end! Congratulations to her, winning the £15 reward!
In the case of the blueprints, I better get me a huge frame made. I would like to build myself a yot of all things. I think a ship with sleeping rooms for a few of my friends plus sound proofing of the living compartments would make things interesting. A question for everyone else on here. What is the best way for someone at the rank of 769 to gain in levels. At this time, it takes alot of missions and or planetoids to gain a level. Then again, going after gas for about two or so hours seems to raze me about three levels. I would try stars if I knew that they were a good choice. The problem for me there, is figureing out the whole timeing thing. I know I want to get close enough that the grav of the sun is pulling on me, but I also want to pull equally in the other direction and have heat shields up.
I've been playing Cosmic and so far, I love it! I'm at level 105.
I've been having a strange issue and wondering if others have seen this.
This has to do with hauling asteroids. Here's what happens:
1. I take my hauler and jump to a sector, lets say 23.
2. I use the gravjump to get me out of the sector into uncharted space. I don't have warp yet.
3. I scan for a field, then set my course to the lowest coordinate in the field.
4. I locate an asteroid, then land on it, anchor, then launch again.
5. Here's where things get weird! I leave the field, either with the field command or my amu. I've also tried setting course to 0 0 -50 for the nearest beacon.
6. When my ship enters the charted sector, my ship gets stuck. My coordinates don't move, and trying to use any manual movement commands gives me a traceback. Setting speed doesn't help. The only way out of this seems to be by warp. I don't have enough skill to use warp yet. A host needed to do it.
The other thing is that the asteroid seems to have disappeared. Scanning for asteroids doesn't show anything. I can't gravjump since the game says I'm hauling.
Sorry for the long-winded post. I wanted to give as much detail as possible, since others don't seem to be seeing this.
Great work on the game!
just type assist and write your problem there, the hosts here usually are friendly, or try to type movefix , not sure though, this moo have that command or not
Woo nice for the soundpack! Jason, may I ask you for the link I can't enter in the game sooo
Umm... You guys have to fix something in the mcl file: of corse it's easy but, just for the info, remove this saving logs path. It gives us an error, cause we're not Jesica And, seems I got banned in Cr, cause my client was making strange things: it was sending something, after what the game were saying invalid entry etc. But the thing is, I don't know what was that, and more, I don't know how to stop it or control. I just followed the instructions and well, this is, what I've got. Any help would be appriciated, and I hope I will be unbanned there Well, before being unbanned, I'll try to fix that issue myself.
Sorry for multiposting. Seems I fixed it, no idea how but I did. Anyway this path thing should be fixed in my opinion, not a big deal, but just for looking better! And apologies to the dev for things that my client seemed to be doing.
lol happy playing
how is the band?
Today I downloaded the vipmud soundpack. I've pasted it into the VIP2.0 directory undder sounds, but the sounds don't play. What's the problem?
400 (edited by cw 2017-05-14 01:37:08)
You need the sounds placed inte Cosmic Rage folder under sounds, and you need the scripts placed under the the Cosmic Rage folder. So, it will be sounds\Cosmic Rage for sounds and Cosmic Rage for scripts. HTH. Oh yes, you will need to double check the mu name field in your connections setting to make sure it is set to Cosmic Rage.
The readme for the pack I have follows.
Welcome to the official sound Pack for Cosmic Rage.
This Sound Pack is for VipMud and was coded by Nathan Smith of Nathan Tech.
Thanks go to Laura and Brandon for helping with sounds.
Thanks goes to Laura for keeping the pack from crashing at vital moments of self doubt.
1. Copy the Cosmic Rage folder into your vipMud sounds folder.
2. Copy the cosmic rage folder into your VipMud directory.
For vip2 users.
3. If you have vip2, you need to copy the pack into your documents vipmud folder.
You should now have a fully working pack!
