Defend Napoleon's heir in this steampunk alternate history game of political maneuvering, airship adventure, and romantic intrigue! Will you bring liberty to France, or plunge Europe into bloody war?

"The Eagle's Heir" is a 200,000 word interactive novel by Amy Griswold and Jo Wyrick. It's entirely text-based, without graphics, or sound effects, and fueled by the vast, unstoppable power of your imagination.

Since Napoleon won the Battle of Waterloo in 1815, seventeen years ago, Europe has enjoyed an uneasy peace. While the great empires of Austria, Russia and England have tried to stem the tide of revolution, France has mastered steam power to conquer the air and sea. Now, Napoleon’s health is failing, and France is torn between his legitimate heir, Franz, and his illegitimate son Alexandre.

Luckily, Alexandre has you, his loyal bodyguard and childhood companion, skilled in the arts of the duel and the ballroom, and ready for anything from diplomacy to airship combat!

It's brother against brother as you choose who will rule France, and how. Will France have a king, an emperor, or become a republic? Can you guide your lifelong friend Alexandre to the throne, and keep not just your prince but his revolutionary ideals alive? Or will you throw your weight behind his half-brother Franz? Will you defeat France’s enemies with the thunder of airship guns or forge a marriage alliance in gaslit ballrooms?

• Play as male, female, genderfluid, or non-binary; gay, straight, or asexual
• Race airships across the English Channel
• Find romance with a journalist or a lady's maid, or ménage a trois at the Tuileries palace
• Join a motley crew of actors in the revolutionary cause, or spy on them for your allies
• Duel aristocrats to preserve your and Alexandre's honor
• Plan a scandalous elopement which sends Europe into an uproar

When swords cross before the throne, who will be the Eagle's Heir?

Hi.
The Choice of games are releasing games so fast so I get totally overwhelmed and confused. Lol. So I've stopped playing them.

Best regards SLJ.

Personally, I think that's great.  whenever I check the blog from time to time, I more often than not find there's something that takes my fancy.
Really looking forward to lost heir 3 especially.

@slj: haha I get what you mean but you don't have to grab every game at once. I just love the fact that they're still going, and it seems like they're rreleasing more games than ever, so hopefully we won't run out of accessible games anytime soon. It means more games for us!

Yeah I get your point. For me, it's just difficult to choose because it seems quite overwhelming, and I find it difficult to check if I'm getting a game in the middle of a series.

Best regards SLJ.

I couldn't get into Lost Heir. I do wonder about the Wizard game, though--I remember I became a knight and a woman took me under her wing, and that was the end of that story. I convinced her, mind you.

Lost Heir I guess just didn't hook me. I can't wait for the next Heroes Rise myself.

Greetings Orin.

Unfortunately there will never be another hero's rise game; only games set in the hero's rise universe. I do wish that the main story line would continue as I really miss playing with my old character. However, I do wish you could have made more choices. For example, neither Genny nor Grandma ever told the player about his/her infini powers and that could well be motivation for eliminating Jenny from the hero project competition. I believe everyone except GG were never worth saving. GG only directed you to support the populars and that was only for the show; not to manipulate the player personally. I was very happy when Jenny died and if I could have killed her off sooner, I would have done. The only ones who were truly blameless in the entire story were the player's parents, the sound and the fury.

As for the lost heir, I'm playing all 3 games; one after another to get me back up to speed with the game. I can actually understand why the lost heir trilogy doesn't hook you in because although it's story driven, the hero's rise trilogy had more plot to it but more restrictive choices where as the lost heir trilogy has more choices but the plot is slightly lighter and more skill driven. Also with hero's rise you're truly limited to health and power and you must be strategic in how you utilize both health and power.

Kind regards, Amin Abdullah.

Hi all, I'm just finishing lost heir 3 now, and very much enjoying it! Mike Walters does a great job with all of his game books.
But the reason why I never got into Heroes rise is because I never knew which one was the very first one to buy/start with.
Now someone says the main story line doesn't continue? That doesn't sound good. If I did want to start heroes rise, what's the progression of titles would I have to buy?
It'd be nice if there was a heroes rise bundle. Thanks for the info. smile

Greetings all.

There is a hero's rise bundle on the appstore. The progression of the main story is hero's rise, the hero project and hero fall. The spinoff is hero redemption and unfortunately it is not a continuation of the main story but an offshoot into the hero's rise universe. When I play them I always play them as hero's rise, the hero project, hero fall and hero redemption in that exact order.

Kind regards, Amin Abdullah.

Greetings all!

The eagle's heir is finally online! As ever, I must wait until payday on Tuesday because I've spent too much. That's what happens when they put an extremely attractive woman at the counter; you buy more than you should! In this case it was a little cafe and I bought 2 omelets! You never know, they may have omelets in the eagle's heir! Anyway, I put it out there for anyone who's still interested even after so long waiting for the game.

Kind regards, Amin Abdullah.

I finished hero's rise and it's damn good, if I say so myself. I was disappointed with the ending, though. The author does pretty good job of keeping you on your toes, having you're friends backstab you, and having your enemy's turn into friends. The lost air book didn't hook me like HR did, though. And the demon wars or whatever it's called, I can't find the web links to the first 2. All I could find was the AppStore, and I would like a taste of a book before I buy it.

Hi all, thanks for letting me know the progression of the heros rise trilogy. I've now played all three game books and I really enjoyed them also!
I've yet to play redemssion, and its too bad my main hero won't be apart of the hero project season 2. But I had a great time making what I hoped were the right choices through out the trilogy. I thought it was sneaky but clever of the author to sell an in-game upgrade to our meChips, or however that's spelled. lol

I enjoyed the last heir series also, but somehow, heros rise was more fun. I really like the way Mike Walters gives you the options to see the numbers as he puts it, when you make choices. That way maybe next time you see that you needed X amount of charm, will power, or magic to achieve that goal.
I would recommend Mike Walter's choice of games books to anyone. Great stuff! smile

Do you all know about dashingdon.com ? It's where Hosted Games are often posted while in development. I don't know if your screen readers can work with the games there, but someone should check it out.
