Notations:

  • Greater than signs denote moves which either chain from one to the other (a target combo), or moves which can only be performed when the conditions before the greater than sign are met (such as Akuma's Hyakkishu (demon flip) into one of its followups).

  • Plus signs indicate that items should be pressed together.

  • The slash (/) between moves means you can perform either version.

  • Trials which start with a move followed by a period (like Zangief's 10th Volume 1 combo) indicate that you can activate that move, and then freely move about -- the rest of the combo does not have to follow right upon activation. Doing anything other than movement will invalidate the combo, though.

I think Street fighter will always have 360 and 720 in one form or another, even in a game that doesn't have Zangief. (Was there a game that didn't have Zangief?) Almost all grapplers in Street Fighter use that motion for a grab. It's only newer characters like Mika or Alex that simplify the input and go back to just a half circle. Honestly, though, I'm so use to 360 and 720 as a Zangief main in Street Fighter V that those motions don't really bother me much.

As a side note, Kolin will be coming out soon, and I think I do have enough FM for her, so expect the first post to get an update once I can figure out her trials.

I've got a few things. I can do them pretty consistently offline because there's no lag but, wouldn't be able to do the same things online. Lag kills timing, and links. Akuma is my main. I'm glad he's getting a health increase.

I would say playing against CPU isn't necessarily a good way to judge whether your combos consistently work... the CPU doesn't block as well as it could. The best way to figure it out is to go into training, set the cpu to autoguard, and see if you can get your hits to connect. The link is only successful if all the hits after the first hit connect without being blocked... Akuma is my main as well, and I can generally consistently pull off the same things online as I do offline. Not that I'm an amazing player, but I can hold my own.

Yep. Labbing in training room and VS my cousins is the way to go. Mind you, all my cousins are sited so, they are better at spacing. I did get a complement from a few of my cousins though, saying that my spacing and execution is very good. Akuma is awesome.

I could never main Akuma. He has minimal health, unremarkable speed, and fairly average damage. The exchange just isn't worth it, in my opinion. In previous iterations of Street Fighter where Akuma was playable, his low health was always a compensation for his higher speed and damage output. I've also never really mained a projectile character in my Street Fighter history. In Alpha 3 I mained Sodum and Adon. In SF4 I mained Adon and T. Hawk, and in SF5 I now main Zangief.

I'm also looking into keeping Kolin as a secondary character. She looks amazingly powerful, if I can ever perfect her, especially if I can improve my reads. Her ability to weave in and out, and her parries and counters make her a ong haul, slightly risky character, but she's so much fun to play! Her air grab is also an amazing counter, assuming your reactions are beastly... which mine aren't.

I've begun updating the SFV Trials with Volume 2 content. This is a slightly slow process, however, as I have to experiment to figure out what all the strings are, but rather than waiting till I get all the characters, I figured I'd release them in a trickle.

Completed characters will obviously be the ones that have data in their list, while unfinished one's will have an empty list, but are there as part of my editing template (to make my own life easier). I'm following the SFV Trials character layout, from Ryu on top, going right to Ken, then left and down to Chun Li, then right to Cammy, and so on. This means the guide won't be updated in alphabetical order, even if the list of characters is itself sorted in that fashion.

For your convenience, the volume 2 trials that are completed are:
Ryu, Ken, Chun Li, Cammy, Nash, M. Bison (Dictator), Vega (Claw), Birdie, Karin, Rainbow Mika, Rashid, Laura.
