Thanks for your answer.
As said in post 1,751, I have gone as far as it is possible to go (the seventh gym) so I nearly finished it, since the source code is available I wish I had the time and  knowledge to fix the main issues of the  game, I still have a good part of my lifetime in frontof me so maybe I will do it some day, though I hope Game Maker Studio won't give me to  much trouble in terms of accessibility.
And even  if it is sad not to be able to go to the end of the game, I absolutely don't regret the hours I spent on this game, and I'd like to thank you for making  an  audio version of Red/Blue that's not just Red/Blue, for adding immersion with new sounds (I'll always remember fighting on the S.S. Anne's Bridge with seagulls singing in the background), and finally for what  is, perhaps, my fifth encounter of a shiny pokemon. I am not what someone would  call a shiny hunter, but encountering a  shiny pokemon is always a surprise, and  it's  even  more when it appears in a game  in which you don't really expect it.
I wish  you the best off luck for your next projects.
Best regards,
Pulseman

Would posting the project files in a RAR archive or something be more helpful? That way you can change the files directly. Scripts are written in pure GML, but objects, rooms ect. are in xml-like files.

There are alternate IDEs that can be used but I think they require a registered version of game maker in order to compile. Try parakeet. I haven't tested it for accessibility but its designed like a more standard IDE and it converts the terrible Drag and drop stuff into code automatically.

I'd love the project files too. you may remember my idea of soundpack support, allowing to choose between the original and fire red/leaf green versions of the soundtrack.

To be honest, I don't really have the time or knowledge for the moment so I didn't really try, and I don't know how much Game Maker may be accessible or not. I just hope, as I am studying to be a developper myself, that I would be able to fix things eventually. Now, as the things you have suggested may help in that regard, I think your welcome to do it.
Thanks for your help anyway, I'll have to test Parakeet when I am motivated.

I've been trying to play this game, but I'm getting stuck in the beginning. I picked the plant type pokemon to begin with, but it hasn't learned a plant type attack yet. I have the electric type, Peekachue or however it's spelled (this one is like Jiminar from Manamon) as well as Pijy and Ratata. I can attack Brock's first Pokemon with Double Kick from my Needoran for 7 damage, but then I get killed by it's attacks. His Onix always takes out the rest of my team. I have 2 Pokeballs. Are there any good Pokemon to use in this stadium or whatever it is in Pokemon?

If Bulbasaur is at level 7, it should learn Leech Seed. It learns Vine Whip at level 13. Vine whip is 4x powerful against Ground/Rock types. However, both Geodude and Onix have Sturdy which requires 2 hits for a KO, so plan accordingly. You can also use nidoran's double kick, or butterfree's sleep powder to help too.

Level wise you should be no less than level 12 when facing him.

@Boy: I never tried it myself, but Brock seems definitely beatable with Nidoran. It seems you are indeed a bit underleveled, that's why you don't have to be affraid to grind levels a bit, especially in the beginning of the game where there aren't that many trainers to fight, compared to later.

Now that I think of it, if I need a registered version of Game Maker in order to compile, I will have to wait a bit because I have currently no way of paying online, though this should change very soon. I will also watch for the accessibility of Parakeet next week-end with a trial version.
In fact, what makes me want to fix the game so much, besides the fact I enjoyed it a lot, is that, in order to make an already big step forward, I would only have three main things to fix.
First there is a bug with damage calculation which causes the game to take the attacking Pokemon's HP into account instead of that of the opponent. The less health you have, the less damage you do. But I will have to test playing a new game in order to know if the problem is still there, as I watched a video of the test version on youtube and the problem didn't seem to appear.
Then there is something that causes items to disappear when equiping them, though there is admitedly a specific event that causes that, they don't disappear instantly.
And then there are the errors that block progression, especially the seventh gym one.
There are other things with certain attacks like Yawn, and maybe other things I forgot or missed, but if only I could fix those three things it would probably be the most important, and then I could eventually focus on those more specific other things.

@pulseman45 if you fix or finish the game I'd be willing to support your efferts.

Well, I don't know when it is going to happen, but I want to be able so it does happen eventually.
Trueth be told, I was saying to myself that I may do a French translation of the game if it gets finished, as well as a Let's Play/Playthrough. I don't know if I would do that Let's Play in French or English.
On one side, I have to consider that Braillemon is probably not very well known in France and that such a thing could help presenting the game.
On the other side, and according to what I understood from reading this forum, it seems some players sometimes feel lost or locked at some point when playing the game. Now, even though there were probably many people who finished the original Red/Blue when they were childs, when Internet was not as present as it is today, I can still understand that, mainly because the original games don't guide the player as much as the sequels, and then because there are things that are in Braillemon and not in the original R/B, and the game doesn't tell the player directly about some of those things. Granted there is a text file which contains all the keyboard shortcuts and informs the player about things he/she may not know such as special abilities, but not everyone likes to read manuals before playing games. All of this to say that, maybe, an English Let's Play could be more interesting considering that.
But for the moment I have time to think about all of this, and any opinion on the subject is interesting. Maybe I will simply do two walkthroughs, seems like the thing to do.

Normally route 16 is West of Celadon City. I can't say much more, I haven't replayed the game for long so I don't really remember that part.
If you are playing the stable Braillemon 1400, it may not be there, there is a link to a test version somewhere in this thread that goes further into the game.

Did you find a trainer as well as a poster in the casino?
If not I think you are playing the stable version, there is a link to the latest version at page 56 of this thread, post 1,392.
Be aware though that this is a test version, there are many bugs, and you will have to swap your save file between the two versions in order to progress at specific points.

Wow! I download the test vertion. Yes it has meny bugs. But it did'nt make me stop playing. I like the New feature (randem pokemon generation).

How doo I go to root 16 & 17 (for stable vertion?)

best regards, muhammad chafid

2017-03-02 10:16:14 (edited by pulseman45 2017-03-02 10:18:05)

I don't think you can, because Celadon City is basically where the last stable version stops.
So you will have to copy your old save file into the folder of the test version. However, this is a hidden file, so you will have to enable the option that allows those files to be shown in the explorer. I don't remember how the save file is called exactly, though. I'll check it whenever I can.
Alternatively, you can go to Celadon in your current save file, but I believe there is a bug that will block the progression at a certain point in the S.S. Anne, so you will have to swap your save file eventually.

Hmm, something for the more code concious peeps: would it help out to try and convert the main game maker project into say bgt, and keep the original objects and maps and sorts wich are xml in their current form? I wouldn't be surprised if that would take a hell of a lot of work, but bgt would tackle screenreader inclusion, would not aquire any penny to be used, can encrypt the sounds and have that a bit more structured etc..... Just throwing out my thaughts.....
