I'm getting through lots of code at the moment but I've made tons of progress on factions, they already have full relations with eachother, I just need to add the ability for them to attack eachother!

Just another idea regarding the daily life aspect of your kingdom: Maybe you could have pets wich you have to care for, a bit like tamagotchis. Further more, they could be usefull in some situations as well, so it could assist in fighting and/or be a friendly companion as well. Others could be used for transport and on farms to produce milk and such things for your kingdom but the caring aspect, even if optional, would add something into the daily life because you have to feed them, cure them if they get sick, play with them or let them play with each other etc. Even trading with them could be possible.

This update took a lot of work to make, this is the hardest I've worked in a long time and probably the biggest update I've ever done for this game, There are tons of bugfixes, new features and additions, the biggest being the inter-faction relations feature, it's not completely finished but it works and its playable, as it stands enemies only raid eachother, they dont invade or skirmish, this will change soon! also the relations with eachother don't worsen after an attack which I also plan to modify soon, that aside, I hope you guys enjoy the update!

Do you  plan to upgrade the sell land menu? Right now it always has the same 4 options and you can sell as much land as you want to whichever person you wat and they don't run out of money or troops to give.

1 every turn it randomizes 2 to 5 land buyers, with a preference towards 2 or 3, a smaller chance of 4 and a tiny chance for a really good fifth.
2 Each of them has a land value score, that is how much they'll buy a piece of land for, and each of them can only buy 1 piece of land and hen disappear for that turn.
3 Empire currency is worth 1 land value, so if they had a score land buying value of of 900 they could buy land from you at 900 gold + nothing else. Goblin tribals, peasants, knights, soldiers or other stuff would be worth more value. Let's say that a goblin tribal is worth  6 value. The land buyer with a value of 900 could instead buy land for 100 goblin tribals and 300 gold, or 900 gold, or 140 goblin tribals and 60 gold and it would all be the same as long as it added up.
Also would you mind posting the download link to the latest beta of the game? I don't like looking around for it.

Hi.

I actually want to get a db page done for the game, since that way the download link would always be in the same place, though I want to try the latest beta first and see what else is in there and where things have been update wise, since at the moment there are so many games coming out my time is slightly less free than I would've liked, ---- plus I do have work to do currently which is a pest, and of course there's the rather nicer being married and spending time with my wife thing which is sort of important big_smile.

Still I would like to get the entry for Warsim done while the game is in active development, so I'l see what I can do this week.

hey guys, how do you start the game?

I extracted the files, then clicked on the warsin icon and all that happened was theatrical music played.

I could not even get off it or stop the music lol.

In the end I had to restart my pc.

This is a little update today, havent worked much more on the interfaction relations aside from preventing them attack when they are really weak, I've reworked the faces for goblins and added several new races and additions, lots of new bugfixes too. Also for the first time in a while the arena has been modified, I've added gladiators and all low-level units of the independent factions will appear in the arena!

@Wastelander, just gave the game another try. I'm noticing the attacks now and that I seem to be getting more men as well as the kingdom reports.

One question, will the betting in arena be tweaked? it still seems I can earn a lot from betting on arena fights and clean up each year rather too much, as opposed to earning money in other ways and the betting just being a fun past time, then again I'm still needing to carry on earning 20 k or so from bets each go in order to afford necessary upgrades and not be cleaned out by bandits etc.

@Firefly82, there are ways to show it in game, if you go to the debug screen, choose, show relations reports, debug mode is 399 in the cheats menu and then 13 on the main menu, as for reports, nothing is unreadable?

@Dark, you seem to be getting more men? in what regard?

also yes the arena betting is very op, An odds system will be put into place soon enough and money earned will be much less

Hi Wastelander, what do you think regarding my idea about the pets i posted a bit earlier? And another thing, if the sound system and sounds get added, it would be nice to have sounds for the units if they move onto ´different surfaces, for example in terms of step sounds that you hear if you are walking on stone, in a forest, on gras etc.

@Firefly a reports screen would be good showing relations and alliances between different groups I agree, particularly if events and such will be in the game that you can check the consequences of, eg "So and so of the x kingdom made some nasty remarks about the y kingdom, formally their allies, the y kingdom's relationship with them worstens"

@Niklas, pets? I don't know what you mean? As for unit sounds, I'm not sure as when the troops battle there is never a pre-set area of combat, but when things with sound effects get more advanced who knows! smile

@Dark, LOVE the idea about random events that change relations, also your not getting more men in what regard? its still a little vaigue, as in your recruitment each turn isnt working? you dont have the money to hire new men? I don't follow?

@wastelander: an idea I have are that you can have pets in your kingdom. They can become useable in fights or even as friendly companions. For the daily life tasks, you could take care of them, a bit like a tamagotchie and like I said, some of them could assist in battles or some could be used for other things, like horses for transport and such. But I think the caring aspect, that means feed them, play with them or let them play with each other could fit into the daily life aspect.

When I extracted the zip I was given 3 files. Data. saves. and a warsim icon,
so I assumed it was the warsim icon I needed to click on. so I did and all I got was a music track,  must I switch off jaws before loading? is it self voicing? hence no function?
