Hello,
I've used Free Download Manager for many years, and it is fully accessible with both JAWS and NVDA.
When you open FDM, it will take you to the download's list, where everything that you've downloaded should be viewed easily. If you have no downloads, then the window should normally be blank. Press alt and there you ought to be able to open the file menu, edit menu, and so on.
Free Download Manager comes even with keyboard shortcuts, so not sure why you are encountering this problem.

Hi,
You can use utorrent for torrents. It is fully usable with NVDA and you can use the download manager of your browser. The technology has advanced and you don't need a download manager to download your files anymore. Personally I use Microsoft edge as my default browser and its download manager. It's fast and reliable most of the time.

Hello, you can use utorrent, but only if you find adds acceptable and if you make sure no junk gets onto your system. If you want fdm to be accessible, download the version for windows xp, that still works on newer versions of windows and is fully accessible.

I am using the 64 bit version
when I open the program, all it says is
window
I try to alt tab, but it doesn't announce any menu

Ahoy there.

I don't know why but my dropbox downloads keep on failing,so I decided I'd download a download manager so as to not waste my data.

I downloaded fdm by googling for it, downloaded the 64bit version, and its strangely inaccessible.
using touch curser of jaws I can read through the application but pressing alt or alt f doesn't bring any sort of menu or file menu and downloading and changing options is no where around.
perhaps its to do with the latest version?
If that's the case could someone upload a recent version of a accessable one or suggest another download manager?
I can always go the IDM root, but I am trying not to have pirated stuff around. lol

Yes, sadly they destroyed the accessibility in Free download manager 5, so the best way to use Free download manager is to use any older version, which works fine and you're not obliged to update it smile

Ahoy there

@roelvdwal, if you are talking about Utorrent, I already have that, but the version I have only works for torrent files not for downloading through http and ftp, least as far as I know, anyway. smile

Thanks Afrin,and that's bloody sad,so it is.
Would anyone on here happen to have the accessible version around, then?

wow, dropbox really is an intrusive thing nowadays... What the blazes is up with that little dialogue just for the sake of trying to get more subscribers?  How pathetic.
At any rate, thanks a ton, afrim; I've never tried this thing so look forward to giving it a shot after hearing a lot of good things about it.

If i save it to my dropbox and afrim's gets deleted,  will I still be able to access it ?

No idea how anyone ever got utorrent to work but at least for me on Ubuntu, Transmission works flalessly here, For FDM I had to go into document review mode and go line by line.

Eh I use Dropbox with an ad blocker and that tends to declutter things, but if we're on about awful cuttter....Yahoo in general is horrifically bad for it.

Reason why I never use my yahoo email any more.
