Rather than keep my email client running all the time, I'm looking for a small program for Windows that runs in the system tray and periodically checks my email account for new email and notifies me with a sound when there is some.

I used to use one that was free but can't remember its name. It was too many years ago.

So, does anyone else here use such a program? If so, what is it called?

I tried a couple that I found in my own searching but encountered accessibility problems that rendered the programs unusable.
