I'm interested in doing that song myself since I bought mostly Japanese voicebanks, and both Japanese, and Spanish voicebanks in my opinion, are much easier to tune than English, but that's just my opinion since Japanese Vocaloids don't have that many quirks to fix from my experience in working with them for years. I will upload the file to Dropbox. This contains all Vocaloid2, Vocaloid3, and Vocaloid4 voicebanks compatible with V4FE, at least, the ones that were released up to this point in time.

I just need to fix some of the volumes on some of the channels, since I've played the song back from Foobar2000 and NotSoFatso, both of which yielded different results, and I decided to use VRC6 for the song (the same expansion chip used in the Japanese Famicom version of Castlevania 3), so I have already have done some arrangements to use that chip for the song, since I have a bit more channels to work with. I'll check out these for backing tracks! Thanks a million!

Thanks for the MIDI file for the Clapping Song from Barney! I actually have the vocal file for that song through Vocaloid4, I just have to do some tuning to the vocals themselves so they sound good. As for the Barney song, I decided to use VRC6 since I had more channels to work with, and even if I didn't have enough, I could always use the O so powerful technique called arpeggios, but thankfully the song sounds pretty easy since I have plenty of channels to work with. I also had to use an external board to play expansion audio since by default, the TNS-HFC5 doesn't support expansion audio unlike its more popular predecessor, the HFC3, and the slightly less popular HFC4, both of which are hard to find, but was able to get the HFC5 from a friend of mine who was selling it. Once that song is done, expect a hardware recording of the track with Vocaloid, and I'll also post the instrumental when it is finished.

Hmm, a little off-topic, but how do you guys set vocaloid up. it's seems to be inaccessible with screen readers.

2016-05-06 06:32:55

well, long thing to explain, but for me, I would do the melody as a midi file (I use qws) and right the lyrics in vocaloid that way. there is a whole discussion about vocaloid accessibility on these forums but it's heavily buried and predates vocaloid 4 so I don't know if that guide is still acurat.
now to back on topic, I shal tell you about some other youtubers. for songs, check out kidsvidsscj, (kids vids scj) and randy sauer. for backing tracks, check out singing bell or atora karaoke (for the ladder, especially look at the karaoke for kids videos)
and now for another link! this one is a zip of all the kids midis taken from hark the sound.

That method, as far as I know, still will work in Vocaloid4, but don't quote me on that as I haven't used MIDIs with Vocaloid as much.

so how are those barney songs coming?

Great! All I need is to add the vocals and I should be done with the first one, since I already have the TNS-HFC recording of the backing track. The talking parts will take some time though as I am doing those last using the SoftVoice Child voice.

Just played the file through Foobar on my laptop, and it sounds awesome. I like the use of SMB1 and SMB3 instruments. I assume you got them from somewhere as I got my instrument packs from the Internet, since I actually have a pack containing SMB1, SMB2, and SMB3 instruments, plus a pack containing instruments from Hummer Team (you know, the guys who made several unlicensed games like Super Mario World for the NES, Street Fighter II for the NES commonly known as Master Fighter II, Somari, Kart Fighter, and others). Well, it's not an FTI pack, but it's just an empty FTM with the instruments already in there, so you could think of it as sort of a Hummer Team template of sorts.
The progress of My Family's Just Right For Me is near in completion. I just need to add/edit the vocals once I'm on my other computer, and we'll be finished! Although, depending on how many times I have to get the SoftVoice child voice to say the talking parts correctly, it may take some time, but hopefully it won't be that much time...I hope. Already have the HFC recording on my other hard drive, all I just need to do is add the vocals.

2016-05-07 02:37:04

thanks! I myself have the hummer team pack and I used it for my own versions of a few songs myself.

As mentioned, My Family's Just Right for Me is done, just need to work on mastering and editing the vocals. I'm not going to post the instrumental yet since I prefer to give a ZIP file with both the track with and without the vocals. As for the clapping song, I am using the Earthbound  soundfont as opposed to Chipsounds since when I was looking for a soundfont to use that had good piano instruments, the Earthbound one ended up working the best for me. I will use different drum WAV samples for the drums though as opposed to the Earthbound ones. Sure I could've used a Super Mario World soundfont, but that's for another track.

I'm not entirely sure. Will have to plug in the soundfont in some MIDIs and see which one works the best.
