Hi. If you haven't heard of them, then you should check it out. These are children text to speech voices. The text to speech voices are USA and UK. They are from astiveware tech, created by acipella group. And they are free to download on iOS! Via voicedream reader. I know this is going to sound weird, but does anyone, know the voice of the children voices? I got a hold of the company, but they said that they wouldn't reveal it to me. Thanks!q

The Kenny and Nellie voices are artificial, so were not made using real voices. That is why they sound different to the genuine voices which you can easily hear sound very much like real children. The genuine voices also have other dialects and languages. They may not be able to reveal the person who generated voice samples for a few reasons: a) they do not want the person to be approached into making competing voice samples; b) if it is a child, some child privacy laws prohibit the identities of children from being released to the public; c) a child may not have actually done the voice recording.

Oh, those children voices are among my favorite tts voices ever, for any OS. Too bad they are expensive as all hell. they are available from next up as well (for text aloud) and I think they are available for NVDA as well.

The children voices for NVDA can be tryed for free for 15 days see link below. No these voices aren't Kelly and Nelly and there are more than just US and UK English. As for the real names behind these voices let's hope they stay secret for safety reasons. Josh and Ella are the girl and boy US voices, Harry and Rosie are the Brittish english voices, Liam and Oliviaare are the Australian voices, Emilio and Valeria are the Bilingual US english and US Spanish voices, Jonas and Lea are the German voices. There is also Scot a US teenager voice. Also there are 2 new Swedish voices that have not been released yet Filip and Freja. All the voices except for Filip and Freja can be brought for Text Aloud but they will only work with text aloud. You can buy them for NVDA for like 100 Euro I think it is however the Swedish and German voices are not available on NVDA. Also at this time the prerecorded sounds the voices can do do not yet work with NVDA. You can try these voices out for yourself using the Acapela demo found here.

To clarify, the British female voice is Rosie, and the Australian female is Olivia. When I try Liam and Olivia in Voice Dream Reader as a sample, the results are interesting and rather amusing.

Of course they wouldn't tell you who are behind the voices. That'd be a huge privacy concern for many reasons. But yes I've used them. They're okay, but the Acapela voices have always sounded too robotic for me. The only time they don't sound robotic is when you play one of their pre-recorded Phrases like, "Go away!".

If a helicopter falls in the field and no one's around, it doesn't make a sound.
