Hi, I have a question about the ps3 lol. Is it possible to record a ps3 game onto the computer, as an mp3 file? if so, how would I do it, without a microphone lol

I also want to know what you need
Hi.
Yeah. That's possible. I use a toslink digital cable from the ps3 unit to the digital line in on my computer. It works great.
isn't there also some adapter which you plug in to your computer and plug the cables that usually plug in to your TV and play it that way?
Is there also something you can use for PSP?
I don't hook my ps3 up to a tv while playing alone. I only use a tv when playing together with sighted friends. If you are using a tv, you can connect a cable to the headphone jack on the tv and plug it into the line in port on your computer. Then you just have to adjust the volume on your line in port. This is set automaticly if you use a digital connection.
it works the same way if you want to record from your psp. You plug a jack to jack cable in the headphone jack on your psp, and plug the other end into your line in port on your computer.
I meant plugging those cables into the adapter then plugging the adapter in to the computer
Yeah. That's what I'm doing. I connect a cable from my ps3 sound output to my computers line in port. Isn't it what you mean? Sorry, I'm confused.
no it's some kind of adapter that you plug the 3 PS3 cables that usually plug in to your TV in to the adapter and then plug the adapter in the line in port
ah, yeah, I see. I have that kind of adapter too. You need an adapter which is called "phone to mini-jack." The 3 connecters which you plug into the adapter is called phone connecters. Two of them is the left and right sound channels and the last one is used for the graphic. Then you plug the sound connecters into the phone to mini-jack adapter and plug the adapter into the line in port on your computer. Do you see what I mean?
do you have to plug the grafic adapter in?
Bump.
The cable used to hook a console up to the TV is called an RCA cable (unless you're using something like S-Video or surround sound, about which I know nothing).
I got a female RCA to male headphone (3.5 mm) converter from radioshack (thank god I eventually found the stereotypical old guy who knows everything after all those gaping jaws). I was able to hook the female RCA thing up to the two previously described RCA cables for audio (left and right channels) and with a barrel connecter on the end of the male headphone hook headphones right up to my console (barrel connecter is two female headphone jacks). You could probably just use the first adapter and hook it into the line-in port on your computer. THere are cards which allow you to record video too but I've never used one.
