this seems to be a month for huge amounts of poling, which either means we're in the middle of a gondola festival or there are many oppertunities for fans to make their opinion clear in a time honoured democratic way!

As we're sadly lacking in Italian botes, ---- it's obviously democracy I'm talking about, the latest entry being the Windhammer gamebook competition hosted by the fantastic gamebook site The Chronicles of Arborell see here

The submition phase of the competition is now over, and several gamebook entries have been put up for your playing, and voting pleasure. These include entries by newcomers in the field, as well as established names such as Andrew Wright and Al Sander, well know from the Fighting fantasy project .

All entries are in pdf format, but should convert to text without a hitch to make playing easier. So head this way for the competition page and play and vote to your hearts content.

Remember that the winner gets fame, fortune, and free online hosting of their work from Arborell.

So monsters ahoy, dungeons a plenty, and may the best book win!

With our dreaming and singing, Ceaseless and sorrowless we! The glory about us clinging Of the glorious futures we see,
Our souls with high music ringing; O men! It must ever be
That we dwell in our dreaming and singing, A little apart from ye. (Arthur O'Shaughnessy 1873.)
