Hey people, I would like to do some clarifications:
Firstly I'll try to reply some questions of SLJ in the comment 34.
1. You can play with other 3 players in a game because there are recorded dialogs for 4 characters, and there are some complex interactions between them. So, if I allow to play a game using 5, 6, 9 or 24 players in the same map instance, it will loose the posibility of do conversations between players (based in events). The server can create as many maps as necessary, but I am testing this thing right now. Each group of players has its own map, and ovbiously, zombies, powerups, weapons, the mistery box and some other things. When you're playing in a map (map 1), you will not hear other players or zombies in the map 2, you will hear only events in your current map. However, the chat system is a bit different. You can chat via text with all players in your channel. Channels are like one channel per language (I've implemented channels for English, Spanish and Russian, but I can't test the Russian Channel), and you can use the private messages too.
2. To be honest, I will implement a ranking system, and a top 10 of the best players. Even I could give some prizes to some people if they can keep up in the top 10 for some weeks, but I wouldn't implement levels for players. There are too many objects, things, easter eggs and special zombies that I could implement in maps, and I think it is better than write a way to increase the player's capabilities, because it could motivate to the players to level up, but what happens when the player is in the maximun level? If all goes well, definitely will not be a quick game (there are some easter eggs that takes 3 hours for being completed).
3. We will use a main server. You will be able to play offline, but without some multiplayer features.
4. I want to implement the 17 maps available in black ops 1 & 2. You will not be able to create custom map because every map include its own player dialogs, exclusive features, objects, easter eggs, special weapons, etc.
Secondly: I've received some emails and private messages in Twitter asking me if I can add someone to the beta group. I started to work with a group of a few people, and the group has grown. I plan to add more people progressively, so if I didn't add you today I could do this in a few days or weeks. When the software parts are stable enough, we will have a release. I'm not saying that I don't want to receive emails offering your help, really I want, but you shouldn't think I'm not interested if I don't reply quickly.
Btw, @cruiser destroyer Could you send me a private message with your email? I would like to know what email address is related to the audiogames' profile.
