hello,
following the aperrent success of my tts preschool album (so far), I decided to do something a little different.
a few months ago, we lost one of the most respected members of the blind community, bob prahan. back in the late 90s, prahan was an early contributer to the singing dectalk community. One of his crowned juels was his dectalk versions of 2 tom lehrer songs, "I hold your hand in mine" and "irish balad". Since then I was a crazed fan of the satirical composer.
In honor of bob prahan, I decided to do a tom lehrer album as a kind of "spin off" of the tts preschool album. before you ask, Yes, both of the afformentioned prahan recordings will be part of it. Feel free to do tts versions of other tom lehrer songs for inclusion on this album!
what do you think? remember-fight fearcely, harverd.

I realize this topic hasn't received any posts. I think it would be really cool given the success of the TTS Preschool album. You can probably expect Chipspeech and Vocaloid versions of his songs on this as well, though my old computer is currently not stable to run any VSTs such as Chipspeech, Alter/Ego, or for that matter LMMS, FL-Studio or Piapro Studio. I will hopefully be getting a new PC later this month so I can get these on there hopefully. It will be rather interesting as to what the community can come up with in the meantime.

@family mario, I have a few requests for this album. Since the parenting disaster seams to have been averted, I will be able to work on both this and the tts preschool album simaltaniously. For now, the songs I'm requesting for this album are: element song, we'll all go together when we go, be prepared (not to be confused with the lion king song, which I'm also requesting for the preschool album), and fight fearcely harverd. If you look on google for "tom lehrer midi" one of the results will be the download page from a tom lehrer fansite, which just happens to contain a zip of several midis that could be used for backing tracks, including the ones I just mentioned.

Where did you learn to make DECTalk sing? I found www.theflameofhope.co and have been quite surprised at how nice DECTalk sounds. Up to that point, I had never even heard DECTalk before, apart from a strange recording I found once, a couple of podcasts and listening to Stephen Hawking speak. I think I'd like to learn, but the instructions at www.theflameofhope.co are $25. Though I could pay for that (and it would be good to to help fund his end-of-life speech at a conference; check out his GoFundMe page for more on that), it would be nice to find something a little less expensive if something does exist.

@americandad2005, thanks for all those requests. I will see what I can do. Don't worry, the TTS preschool album tracks will still be worked on, I am using chipspeech from now on unless if the song is in a different language, because chipspeech and Japanese is a bit too confusing for me.
