I'd like to ask for some suggestions before I start posting to other forums. I'd love to get this started!

Good day.

I've had an idea brewing for some time, and would like to hear an opinion on it. Just as some people read books into audio for those who might not be able to access them, I thought the same idea with manga.

I've translated and recorded the first chapter of "Gin to Kin" by Fukumoto Nobuyuki. This manga describes the dealings of "Gin-ou" (King Gin) and his associates, in the under-belly of society where shady dealings with stock speculators and politicians is the norm.

The idea is simple:
Choose a chapter of a series, and read it outloud to a soundfile. Read dialogues and describe the visuals.
Writers could write 'scripts' of the dialog and visual descriptions for the Readers to use. Readers could read and describe (either directly from the manga, or from a 'script' that someone else has written) into audio.
[ As you can clearly hear from my horrible presentation, it dosen't have to sound 'professional'. ]

As an alternative, screen readers could also be used to read these 'scripts' if spoken audio isn't available.

Interesting Idea?

I often tried to read Mangas or Comics in PDF-Format, without any success. But your Idea is great. I like Animes and ohter Comic Series. but Mangas as Audio-Files would be great, because Animes are sometimes very difficult to listen to it. the sound effects of these series are sometimes very strange.

Hi.

I deffinately like this idea. My brother's a big anime fan, and I regularly steel anime series from him, ---- most recently samurai 7, ---- I even own the entirety of Kenshin.

my only concern would be with those mangas which are much more visually intraspective, and sometimes even confusing, ---- for example Neon Genesis of Evangellion.

while not quite the same (as Avatar is obviously an animated series), I'm wondering if they'd come out something like these transcripts?

Please let me know more about this as I'm deffinately interested.

thanks, that's great! Imho Kenshin is one of the best anime from a low vision perspective. visually the action isn't too fast and there is always an audience to comment on what is happening. Also, from a low vision perspective, it helps that everyone has distinctly coloured outfits and so are more visible during fight scenes, but I know that as with all of these things, more goes on in the manga, so it's great I finally get to read that.

Hmmmm, which series of gundam wing is that? I've seen one of them before but I'm not precisely sure which as I know there have been quite a few. The one I saw had five pilots, with the main charactor being Hero.
