I was sitting in the bunker one smoggy day,
Wondering how I'd make money to pay,
All those high priced machine gun wielding merks,
Who shot toxic creatures on the toxic earth.
So I did the mash!
I did the monster mash.
The monster mash!
I can kill them for cash.
he did the mash
their skulls I can smash,
He did the mash,
I made monster mash.

From the toxic deserts where the mutants rome,
To the dungeons full of mutating foam,
I new that things would be less nasty,
In the wastes now there was no ascii,
So I  Got this mash!
He got the monster mash.
I wasted monster mash.
The monster mash.
I could kill them for cash.
The monster mash.
There skulls I could smash.
The monster mash,
Lets talk monster mash

In the times of yore in the days of old,
When knights fort well and men were bold,
I could hier some men to fight for my king,
Even if just, In this war sim

They used to mash!
They still did monster mash.
The monster mash.
They could kill them for cash.
The monster mash.
Their skulls they could smash.
They did the mash.
Lets talk monster mash

A skeleton feeling alone,
With no body to call his own.
Don't worry or weep or moan,
Just bash someone, with your eye bone,
And you can mash!
You can monster mash.
The eye bone mash!
Your skulls they can smash.
The monster mash.
You can kill them for cash.
The monster mash.
Just do the monster mash.

From the dungeon levels where Adventurer's fate
To the future time when things aren't so great,
sinse a sequel's coming traveling through time,
Just feel free to think about what's in your mind,
So Lets talk mash!
Lets do the monster mash.
The monster mash.
there  will be pets you can catch.
The monster mash.
It'll make a splash.
The monster mash.
With more monster mash!

Now excuse me people  sinse I need to run,
The time for talking is nearly done,
With vile infestations all over the place,
There's only one way to save the human race,
We'll need to mash!
and make some monster mash!
Some monster mash!
It'll make some cash.
Some monster mash!
Their skulls we can smash!
The mosnter mash!
Yes, monster mash!

waaaaoooooooo! waaaaaooooo! waaaap waap waaaaooo!

With our dreaming and singing, Ceaseless and sorrowless we! The glory about us clinging Of the glorious futures we see,
Our souls with high music ringing; O men! It must ever be
That we dwell in our dreaming and singing, A little apart from ye. (Arthur O'Shaughnessy 1873.)

Ok dark. You got my interest. How do you come up with such post? LOL.

All that is gold does not glitter, Not all those who wander are lost; The old that is strong does not wither, Deep roots are not reached by the frost. From the ashes a fire shall be woken, A light from the shadows shall spring; Renewed shall be blade that was broken, The crownless again shall be king.

Hi,
Dark, this is very epic indeed. How long did it take you to come up with the lyrics?
For those wondering, the monster mash and the style of lyric is a play on a classic song. If you are either not too sure what the song is all about, or even if you just want to relive some awesome nostalgia and sing along, then here is a YouTube link:

Lol Aaron, I don't know about nostalgia sinse the original was apparently 1962 literally 20 years before I was born, but hay it's one of these you hear all the time even now especially around halloween.

Actually it wasn't too bad to write once I listened to the tune and imagined the mad scientist voice, though why are there no propprer rhymes for ascii? I did consider pesky ascii.
I'm also not absolutely happy about mercs rhyming with earth either.
It just occurred to me when i was thinking of news while walking reever this morning that all the things I had to post about involved smacking around monsters and getting paid for doing so, ---- hence the new idea for the meaning of "monster mash" big_smile.

very clever but I have one question: what is it meant to be about. I'm left at the end wondering what games you're actually talking about and I'm pretty sure a lot of other people are too.

Who's that trip trapping over My bridge? Come find out.

Oh gawd, I remember that song. I also remember that it made it to being the number one song on Billboard's top 100 songs list twice.

Dark, great lyricks, you should either be a commedian or a song writer, or both!

And for your listening pleasure, here's the song that was on the flip side of the Monster Mash 45 RPM single, which I didn't think was that bad.

@SirBadger
, "adventure to fate" and "the wastes" and "war sim" all of which got named in the song, but you can also follow the links.

@Gene, glad you like, I did have quite a lot of fun writing this one and thanks for the extra link.
