i

fully agree with aaron except about the forum closing. i suggest, however

this topic should be closed.
that's all i have to say for now.

You guys should delete this topic and never show it agin. This is not a

good thing to read when someone is new to the forum. Though I've been a

faithful member or visitor of this website, I just registered to use the

forum a week ago. I was so suprized how petty and silly some of the people

are on here. It made me a little sad to see all these people bitching and

moaning. How about taking that energy and spreading the words about

audiogames to sighted developers. Anyway just a new guy no one important.

Thanks

Ok

here I am commenting again despite my resolution not to. Ok so I'm not

going to say anything more about TONK if I can help it. If Kyle decides to

release the game in spite of all this nonsense then more power to him.

That'd be showing a determination not to let petty folks drag him down. If

on the other hand he decides to withhold it as I'm sure he has, I support

him in this also, even though it would mean depriving us of a good game. It

shows the rest of us that the more we keep compalining and whining, the

greater the chance that we'll lose developers. I hate to say it but that's

what'll happen if we keep this up. It's why I never complained despite my

frustration. As for Emulators, I myself don't entirely approve of them. I

will only emulate games if they aren't available in the United States to be

quite honest. Notable titles would be Final Fantasies 2 and 3 for the

regular Nintendo. Then again FF2 is available now in the forms of FF:

Origins and FF: Dawn of Souls.

But wait, what's that? A transport! Saved am I! Hark, over here! Hey nonny non, please help!

Put

it this way, there is no such game, I bet he's just trying to look cool.

oh

come on mike, sorry to say this, but its not kyle, but you acting like what

you call a looooooser. sorry again, but this is getting on my nerves. i hate

to read posts like the last one over and over and over again.
and yes the

game is probably discontinued again. kyle never posts something here

anymore, i guess he's had enough again and i can truely understand why.

2005-10-14 07:19:05

Mike

you may be righ about the fact that there is no succh game as Tournament of

the Nine Kings, but I think it more accurate that there is no longer any

such game thanks to people like you. Although like I said in the event that

Kyle did decide to release the game in spite of all the crap he's been

getting, that would show determination. Then again so might not releasing

the game. While releasing it shows determination not to let petty whiners

and, to use Mike's word, Looosers, drag him down, choosing not to do so

would in my eyes show a determination to punish said Looosers for their

crap. Yes, it would deprive the rest of us of what could be a great game,

but I can't say I blame Kyle for leaving. God knows I'd leave if I were a

developer and this nonsense was what I got for posting here. Where's the

supposed game from QUAG? For all we know it's not even at the pen and paper

stage what with the lack of news about it. Even BSC Games, which has given

us very little info on Castle Quest, posts updates from time to time. Here I

am acting as though BSC's closed mouth policy is a bad thing. At least

they're not having to deal with crap like this. Then again they don't post

on here at least as far as I know. So peoples, unless we want to risk losing

those developers we have left to us, let's please quit with the griping. Or

are we turning into another Gamefaqs style forum? No, that was not a

compliment.

But wait, what's that? A transport! Saved am I! Hark, over here! Hey nonny non, please help!

Somehow

I missed the doubting messages, I had read the first few and last few at one

point but missed the ones in between. I can easily see how this could affect

a person's self confidence.

Mike:
Look who's talking. You put up a

site, with minimal accessibility mostly due to the fact that you're too

lazy to use anything other than the basic HTML, and a coming soon section...

then lo and behold you declare yourself a developer.

Everyone here is

getting fed up with your attitude Mike. It isn't us that's the problem.

There have been several threads where you've posted in a reasonable manner

and people have responded likewise, why can't you do that here? You're a

major sore spot in the community here.

kile is not the only one who stoped comming and posting

here
haven't ya all bin wondering what's up with cm2 and one of our

dearest game makers?
well.. mike and his 13 year old gang , at leest you

can be "proud" of what you did to this people
the fakt that I my self am

stil working on games and I'm stil up this business ,it's just due to the

fakt that among those of us there are steell some sensable people like lee

davis and AA and CX2 and some others I didn't mention..
but if you dont

guys com your selfs a bit,my motivation to make games (witch had very much

lowered since that tonk business), will stop!

What? I must've missed something. Was Cloning Malice II discontinued, or

did Munawar just quit coming on here? I could certainly understand either

what with all the nonsense going on.

But wait, what's that? A transport! Saved am I! Hark, over here! Hey nonny non, please help!

2005-10-14 20:40:14

Agreed again. Mike, if there is no Tonk, whatabout your so-called

game? Since there's no evidence that it exists, should we ignore it? huh?

Should we? Seeing as how a small ***er has so much sense, let's see you

make a good game then! Defend yourself now. On your next post, I want to see

you defend yourself. You've been griping too long, and now it's time for

you to prove that you're making a game. Anyone else agree?

How

about this for a suggestion. We all post messages in a civil manner. Even if

someone doesn't do this I have noticed a trend in humans, it is very hard

to stay mad at someone who is being perfectly polite. The venom just fizzles

out of the argument.

Shall we try it? Not trying to patronise, just

trying to get some sort of order back here.

BrianP, I have to admit, I think this forum tops some of the Gamefaqs

forums, but I see your point, wholeheartedly agree, and it makes me both

amused and sisgusted.
Were I a moderator or admin, I'd simply lock this

topic here and now with no further griping. It's tiresome, it's

circuitous, it goes nowhere. CX2 is right though; if it isn't going to be

locked, the easiest thing to do is just be civil.

On a sidenote, though,

maybe it's just me but I don't find Mike's site (skeletal as it is) very

difficult to access. I've no trouble navigating it in the least.

I think this'll get annoying, bu my question who agrees with my last

post?

Discord: clemchowder633

2005-10-15 06:38:37

yes

assault fraek i agree. i don't think mike shouldn't say such things at

least right now because he even hasn't got a game out. well yes, i think we

really should quit now with this stuff.

2005-10-15 09:03:44

Oh

believe me I've been trying to remain civil throughout all this, but it

sure hasn't been easy. Poor Kyle. I feel sorry for the guy. But I agree.

This constant flaming and arguing is getting us nowhere. So please, before

anymore of our dwindling supply of developers decides to give up, let's

quit with the public griping. That goes for everyone here, not just some of

us. It's all right to have doubts but please, for the sake of all of us,

don't post them on here. If too many developers see that sort of thing we

really will lose them. You'd be surprised how much damage a few simple

words can cause.

But wait, what's that? A transport! Saved am I! Hark, over here! Hey nonny non, please help!

Hi

all,

I am new to this forum, and have just spent a fair while reading

this topic with interest...and I was wondering whether this is a

joke?

The maturity shown in some of these posts is less than convincing,

I am guessing that I am slightly older than most of you guys but is this

really the VI community of gamers?  really?

I was interested in what goes

on here cause I used to work in the design team for a middle size software

producer before I lost my sight three years ago, and I am really surprised

to see the lack of a common positivity running through the ranks of

developers and players alike.

I hate to say this but there is no god

given right to accessible games.  If you all want to see gaming move beyond

where it is now then a solid market is going to have to develop that

attracts quality developers to spend time getting the more complex games to

market.

Companies who ride high in the standard sighted world of game

software are aware of the VI community and the concept of accessible gaming,

I know this for a fact, but they are hardly likely to take a community

seriously when it cant construct a strong, well thought out position that

will make people sit up and take notice.

This forum is a natural starting

point for those of us who lose our sight suddenly half way through playing

games on whatever console, or paying a fortune on a whizz bang graphics card

for our latest monster games PC, and we arrive here desperate to find a

outlet for our gaming gene.

So, all I can say is treat the idea of

audio/accessible gaming with some care for the web is full of ideas and good

ones at that, that never came to anything...

By the way, my first audio

game was bought for me by one of the developers of Grand Theft Auto, who had

spent his lunchtime playing Bavisofts Chillingham...go figure...

I will

sit back now and await the flames of derision...

Cheers

Gubbins:
Interesting to hear that mainstream developers have heard of

us.

This is only one community on this forum, and I know many people just

aren't interested in forums. There are many people on a Yahoo discussion

list from what I hear, and many more prefer face to face

discussion.

Given the size of the community here it would only seem to

take a couple of bad examples to wreck the whole place.

Let's let this

topic lie though, please? Gubbins, if you want to make a topic about making

mainstream developers pay attention I'd be interested to read it, I don't

know about anyone else.
