Hi all. I'm new to the community here, and I am interested in creating games for those who are blind. I'm just wondering if the more common screen readers are able to read text that's embedded in flash movies?

Thanks for your time!

Short answer?  No.
Long answer?  If you figure out flash accessibility and specifically use it which no one does, but it still depends greatly on the screen reader and the browser.  It also depends on the phase of the moon.  Don't do this, use HTML5 instead.

Thanks for your reply, camlorn. I had a feeling that would be an issue, as the text in Flash movies is normally not selectable. Much appreciated!

Hello Mcallon5538.
Welcome to the forum! No it can't but using standard html stuff will work. I don't know why there isn't an access fix for this, companies have had plenty of time to figure this kind of thing out.
Anyway mcallon, good luck we can always use new developers around here.
