Well sonic v2 does not want to download.
there are lots of packs which won't play or have sound, though some like mortal combat I downloaded from a link not via the downloader and those do work.
to the person that fixed sonic thanks a bunch

Hi all.
I would like to introduce my second sound pack: BassHunter.
You asked for more techno? There you go. smile Lots of awesome tracks. If you beat this pack, then you can look forward to one of their latest releases, which is a totally different style. big_smile
I hope you enjoy this. Comments are very much welcome.
If there are any genres you wanna see, then please let me know. I have so many ideas for some great packs. Now, after I've got the hang of this, I can make packs much quicker than my first pack. The BassHunter pack took me about 3 hours including finding all the songs I needed.
Again, comments are very much welcome.

Best regards SLJ.

I have another genre that I wana see.
this time, I would like it to be a jazz genre.
because it is my favorite genre.

2015-03-01 02:02:35

Hi.
Thanks for the suggestion. Jazz is one of the genres I don't have, and one of the genres which have never interest me. But a pack might get me interested. smile
However, a friend of mine likes jazz, and he might be able to make a pack. Nick: Have you read my guide on how to make packs? Do you find it useable? I would like to hear a jazz pack myself, but as I don't listen to the music, I can't create one at the moment. If no one wanna make a jazz pack, I might offer to make one if someone wanna send me the music and sounds for the pack. But that wouldn't be a high priority. But thanks a lot for the suggestion.

Best regards SLJ.

did you include a boot song in the BassHunter soundpack?

2015-03-01 09:59:33

No, there's no boot song. why? There's a loop song which plays in the main menu.

Hi.
firstly a few things, yesterday someone updated the sonic pack.
and now like a lot of packs its soundless.
sonic v2 is still broken.
however that's not all.
Oriol I know we have 2 threads for this game but as this has to do with packs I'll post these in here.
Is there a or can there be an option to adjust the music volume, for the entire game or for in game while leaving the effects alone?
I have noticed in say the sonic pack, z star, dubstep base hunter and all other dub packs for example that some effects are louder than others and sometimes music can drown them out.
I also noticed that some effects such as in all the base hunter and dubstep techno packs are not all at the same volume.
I have noticed that the sonic packs you can get a situation where things just jell with the music to much and you can't tell the difference.
In the rasta pack, and in all levels past level8 on the adventure at c pack the pack actions etc an happen where they are out of sync and 2 or 3 actions can happen at once, and its impossible to do 3 actions really at once.
While not a big issue if downloading packs and you have no network connection it will error out but the loop sound for the download does not close and additional attempts with no network just starts more loops of the ticking till you are full of ticks.
in the beat star pack the effects are to subtle and you really have to listen to them hard even in level1 to get them to well go the way you want.
So yeah I guess there is a lot of bugs in here but still

2015-03-01 21:11:10

Hi.
the zedstar pack I guesss that's what you are referring to I have no  control over as I am not its creator.
I will look into the volume thing.
I am also working on a new mode.
Oh and people, get your credits.ogg files ready and update your packs accordingly
because next version of beatstar will announce credits.

Hi.
I like the idea of being able to control the volume. I'm sorry for the volume of all songs aren't the same in the BassHunter pack. I noticed that then I was debugging the pack, but I wasn't sure if that was going to be an issue or not. I can of course fix that if needed.

Hello,
@oriol: I've got something in the works as I said the other day, and I decided to make a complete version of the content for you to take a look at which is why I haven't contacted you yet. I'm almost done with it though.

O hey, Key, since your here anyway, would you mind if I made a battle zone sound pack?  I mean I was like 99 percent sure you couldn't care less, but I wanted to make sure to be polite.

Also, SLJ, I really like your pack, the music and sounds are good, it's challenging but fun, the level transitions are basically seamless, and there are a hoooooole! lot of levels, like, what, twenty?
The only things I found are that yes, some of the BPM's are messed up but I'm sure someone could help you with that, maybe even Oriol if you ask, and that the backspace is cool, but a bit loud compared to the songs, as well as the tab having a bit of a long sound for signifying success, which can be distracting, even if it is pretty cool.

2015-03-02 14:42:59

Defender: Thank you very much for your nice comments about my sound pack. I'm the creator of both the Cascada sound pack and the BassHunter sound pack.
Some of the music in the Cascada sound pack is very loud. Therefore, I was forced to turn up the volume on the sounds to make sure they would be heard when playing the loud songs.
Regarding the tab key, yes that can be confusing. But, the cool thing about this, which also was the idea behind this sound, is if you time this right, the sound wil be played when the NeXT beat starts, which sounds pretty cool. big_smile
Yep, the Cascada pack have 20 levels. 10 songs, but the songs are splitted up into two levels for each song. big_smile
The last song in the Cascada pack is very nice. I'm glad you find the pack challenging. I've done my best to not make the pack annoying and unfair, but challenging, and worth playing because of the tracks.
Regarding the beats wich are messed up: I hope someone can help me fixing that. It's impossible to fix that by using the pack Tool on a virtual machine. If it's a huge issue, I'll contact Oriol about this privately.
Again, thanks soooooo much for your awesome comments. That makes me really wanna make more packs in the future, and I'm also pretty sure that all the hard Work i put into this is all worth it. big_smile

One thing you could do is edit the bpm.txt file manually afterwards, assuming the pack creation tool does allow you to do that. If not, then that might be a suggestion for a future version.
I got a couple of ideas for soundpacks, which I may or may not finish because I keep getting distracted. But I should definitely try it and see if they're any good.

2015-03-02 16:06:35

Arjan: Yep I can manually edit the bpm file, but I have no idea on how to figure out the milli seconds. smile

Hello,
For Guardians, I usede the bpm tool as a benchmark and then edited manually, removing some miliseconds and adding until it debuggede properly. If you get 2400 or something, you probably won't want to remove the first2, but you will want to play with the 400 a bit. So you might get 2400 which might be too much, so you decrease it to 2390, 2380, etc, then you fine tune it from there again. 2000 miliseconds is two seconds.

2015-03-02 16:25:01

I can edit those files myself *grin*
mortal_kombat pack should play... doesn't it?

I would like a soundpack, but this time I would like it to be a resident evil soundpack with 30 levels and cutscenes.
I do not want the cutscenes to be short, since the cutscenes should be long and played especially when I complete as many levels as I get the hang of my timing from the rhythm so that I can get a lot of beatcoins.
make sure to include a boot song before the main menu comes up.

2015-03-03 09:53:30

Nick: That would be quite easy to make. Do you have all the cutseens you want in the pack, and what music do you wan in the levels? The hårdest thing would be to get the cutseens. But if you can get those and of course the music you want, the rest should be easy.

Best regards SLJ.

no I do not hav any cutscenes for the resident evil soundpack if I already made one, but unfortunately it would take a lot of time to make one.
also, are you having issues with the random mode?
because it keeps switching levels occasionaly preventing me to progress in the game.
