dear gamers
i am looking for some good monster sounds, that i can download
free of charge.
i have scoured findsounds.com, and i am now looking for
other resources.
i have played on the sighted game doom, and found the
sounds on there very good, and i am looking for something simmilar for my
modding.
can anyone give me some pointers?

the horror sound effects pages.
I forgot. Did you already try a search on findsounds.com for growl?
Maybe that will produce some useful results. You could also take some animal
sounds and add effects (flanger etc.). I think some sounds in Doom are also
animal sounds.

you still have doom in your computer? If so, check in its directory to see
if you can find its sounds folder or something that has wavs in it, anyway.
If you find a sounds folder which has wavs in it, then you should be all
set. If you found a sounds folder with sounds that are not .wavs, then
things get a bit more complex. Anyway, see if you can get this far and post
your results if you wouldn't mind. If the sounds are not in .wav format and
you don't know what to do about that, I will post instructions when I read
your findings. Good luck!
It's
worth a shot, but I've a feeling ID tend to package their materials like
sounds into specific files. Examples are Quake has two files in the ID1
directory which contain all the sounds, graphics and maps for the
game.
Some developers leave the foiles lying around, but many slip them
into these files which are difficult to get at.

only had doom on ps, not om pc, but those kind of things are copyrighted.
Ok, here is the backup method then, and I just thought about it. Go online
and see if you can find a game called Alone in the Dark. If you can find it,
download the demo, it's about 82 mb in size. That game has it's sounds in
a perfectly easy to access sounds folder, and they are all wavs. Also, this
game is a horror game, which means it has all sorts of zombie sounds and
other monster sounds. You might find some of the other sounds in it useful,
as well.
