The save file is in the following location:

%appdata\Vgstorm\Children of Dragons\Paladin of the Sky

In that folder is a file called save.sav, which is your save file. You can copy this to another location to backup your save.

Thank you. smile My save file is now backed up.

12th floor of hades spoilers
I am at the part where you have to fight lord of the underworld. I have tried fighting him with all my chars. They all deal massive amounts of damage to him but he just shrugs it off and stays at 100% no matter what I do. He doesn't even do that much damage to my characters, but his regen seems to be through the roof because he stays at full. I once dealt 10000+ damage to him with one of my dragon strike scrolls and he was still at 100%. I was surprised that everyone else managed to defeat him okay, well, at least none of the first 500 posts on this topic indicated that they had trouble with him. Dice don't seem to work against him at all, and the knife only does about 2500 damage with the character that has the most impact, which is Lucy. All my characters are about level 48 to 52. None of them can get him below 100%. Does he just regen that much hp every round, or does he have more than like 30 million hp? If the latter I can just keep beating on him until he dies, but if the former I have no idea what to do. Any help would be appreciated.
end spoilers
some general thoughts about gameplay and party members now:
I hate gabe. A lot. The only thing he has going for him is his power 80 dragon strike scroll, but all his stats are mediocre, so he really sucks when it comes to training up because I like mindlessly grinding when running through the random encounter dungeons. On the other hand, Ceicil is a freaking power house, especially with just the boring old demon's gift, even though he knows lunar cannon and the other thing. Waiting  3 or 4 seconds for that much power is worth it to me.
Shauna is cool. Her spells are really hard to cast though, because the rhythm and wait times are irregular. Especially not a fan of trying to cast giga candella. I did like death in 3 easy steps but I have to re-remember how long between each of the steps  every time I restart the game and want to use that scroll. I never even bothered to learn embodiment of righteousness.
Ross has slightly easier dragon strike scrolls than most but is better at grinding in random encounter dungeons. He gets more chances to run experience than the other chars so his level always seems to be slightly higher than the rest of the party. Wish his impact was less gold, but since he is overall quite balanced, I can live with that. And final shot is just cool.
Lucy is really cool. She's a really nice tank, but can deal consistent easy damage because of her high impact. She has 27 impact which means she can deal the equivalent of about a roll of 15 or 16 by Ross. her dragonstrike spells are extremely difficult to cast because of the crazy long wait time before the first beep, and they are about as powerful as the other people's scrolls, even though the power on them is much higher, because her strength is so pitiful. I'm a big fan of the high hp and defense combination. It makes her really hard to take down.
Questions:
1 do all the stats shops, like the zopolis market, heaven shop and statistics shop on rec floor 2, have the same prices for stats? Or is one of them a bit more economically priced than the others?
2 Are there ever better healing potions than the +500 hp ones? This is not a very important question nor is it a request to make better potions.
3 sometimes my dragon strike scroll practice doesn't work. You say in the manual it only works once per scroll per battle. But sometimes, I hold down the right shift key and press enter, and it acts as though I am actually trying to cast the spell. I suggest you make holding shift-enter would, if you had already used up your practice for that scroll, let you know, instead of proceeding as though you hadn't pressed shift.
4 Does the stair blocked off on wing 1 where he says it's off limits, kid, ever become accessible before the post game? Or is that a post game area.

Hi.

I'm not sure if this has been answered already but since this is abig topic I'll ask it again.

i'm at the part where your party members fight one another to proove that ross loves his friends, is there a way to keep this? I've tried and tried and just can'tdo it. WOuld leveling up help? also is there a way to level one character and leave the rest alone?

I'm gone for real :)

2015-01-03 14:37:52

It's really hard. Especially for the really dumb chars like when you have to fight gabe against the rest. You have to play to each of teir strengths and weaknesses. So when you fight each of your chars against gabe, you don't have to worry aobut it and just roll the dice against him till he dies beacuse he's super weak without his scrolls. Against chars like ceicil and Shauna you have to use dragon strike scrolls to dish out huge damage..

I beat the main game a few days ago and am just trying to find these last galactic dusts, though I am running out of places to look. I know I forgot to check for dusts in the area behind general gaming facility, but I can't think of any other areas to search. The game is about 30 to 40 hr of playtime which includes the numerous saves and reloads I had to do due to dying during boss fights. That's not too bad for an english game, so good job guys!

Hi.
It's totally awesome that the game takes that long time to beat. I haven't had much time to play the full version, but I'll get back to the game as soon as possible, looking very much forward to play this again.

Hi, is there any way to get back into Ross' hades dream area? I need to go back there and check for galactic dusts. I really need to because I'm up to 33/36 and it's the only area I didn't recheck.

I know you can get back to zopolis if you make Gabriel play the organ. And you can get back to heaven if Ross does it. I know that the other characters, as far as I know, fail to be able to play it though. So is there any character who can get back into hades, either by playing the organ or by another means? If so how

As far as I know, there's no way to get back there, so you need to be sure you have any and all dusts from that area before leaving, as you can't get back there.

Hi.
I'm still at the planet which I don't remember what's called, but the place where the demo version ends.
I don't like the way you suddenly get transported without any warning at all. Do I ever get back to the ship again where the game starts? I never explored the rest of the ship.

That's how the battle works. You'll never scratch him no matter how much damage you inflict. Just use your strongest scrolls and sttay alive till the scripted end of the battle.

But wait, what's that? A transport! Saved am I! Hark, over here! Hey nonny non, please help!

I've been playing Paladin and really enjoyed it. I know this has been discussed a lot, but once again how many galactic dusts are there to find? I've found 35, I can't go left and right in the wastelands before the Pierre fight. Is there anything there to find? Am I missing anything?

2015-01-27 20:11:56

You should be able to go left and right before Pierre. There is a save point near him and a galactic dust near that save point, if you haven't gotten it.

Hi.
I have played this game a lot lately, and I'm really loving the game.
I'm stuck, really stuck for the first time, and I have no idea on how to progress. I'm currently fighting Gangster Jason in the drugs factory, and I have no idea on how to beat him. I have noticed that his attacks takes less health if I'm using the characters who don't have much health at maximum. I can't brake through his shield, I can only do some random attacks and I can't avoid his attacks. I find the battle very unfair because of the shield. Do you have any tips on what I can do to beat him?

Best regards SLJ.

It's been a while since I played, but if I remember correctly, there is a pattern to what you can do.

Have you noticed that his shield changes colors? Each different color means you can hit him with a different type of attack (dice, knife, dragon strike scroll). Unfortunately, I have forgotten which color represents which attack type, but I'm pretty sure it goes in a cycle.

Just having another go at this game, and I have some thoughts now that I'm five or six months down the road from my last serious playthrough.

1. The dragonstrike scrolls that have like fourteen seconds of dead air space suck. Just plain suck. Volcanic Storm, I'm looking at you.
2. Gabriel is sort of an overlooked gem. His scrolls suck, his stats aren't great, but his upgrades are cheap and he gets way more coins than other chars, so I suspect I'll be able to use him late-game as a powerhouse.
3. I noticed that Cecil appears to get a potion discount.
4. I'm just about to fight Lord of the Underworld in Hades for the second time, my characters are around level 60, I've done the ghost-killing side-quest to get the true-sight ability and the save-anywhere feature, and I'm only about nine hours in. My only gripe now is that I didn't level Lucy to 70...I forgot what her Final Oblivion is, and I want to hear it again. I really do wish there is a way to keep her alive though. ...So yeah, those of you saying it's like 30-40 hours of gameplay...not so much. I'm not even really trying to speedrun, and I'm going to be able to finish in under twelve hours, guaranteed. Post-game content will add another three or four hours, maybe, but if I beat the final boss with a timestamp of greater than twenty hours, I'll be surprised.
5. Grammar and spelling issues. Oh god. The word "to" is spelled wrong at least half a dozen times in dialogue, and there are no commas in places where there ought to be. For instance, "You have too go home Ross" or some such; there should be a comma after home. These sorts of mistakes abound, and it grates every time I hear one.
6. I feel like some of the areas are needlessly big just...because. Like Tower of Regret, for instance; I like the saving-people mechanic but intensely dislike floor 5. There really ought to be a clue elsewhere in the tower about that floor.

Anyway, that's me done for awhile.

Hi.
Wow, I can see that I'm not nearly close to complete the game yet. smile
I'm fighting the boss called Gangster Jason in the drugs factory, and I've played for like 17 hours. But well, this is my first playthrough. smile

Man. I would like this game a lot more if it wasn't so dependent on memorizing every single scroll in the game, have still never beaten the final boss because of this very reason. No thanks :d

Take care, it's a desert out there.

2015-02-18 04:14:28

If you're at a sufficient level, you can essentially memorize about 20-30 percent of the scrolls and just sponge hits when he asks for scrolls you don't know. You ought to have more than enough HP for it on all your characters, especially factoring in that Kelly's Death Dimension and Simon's Final Oblivion, if you have them, hit wickedly hard. Mass Slaughter from Cecil also hits fairly hard, so it's worth learning that one.

Personally, I learn the really easy ones like Aura Master, Heaven's Winds, Avenging Spirit for Ross/Gabriel, Destruction of the Heavens with Ross, Giga candela and Embodiment of Selflessness with Shauna, Infinite Pain and Mass Slaughter with Cecil, Merciless Vengeance and Death Dimension with Kelly and Eternal Vortex plus Final Oblivion, maybe Blackhole as well, from Simon. Everything else is pretty much gravy, though I confess having Wraith's Curse from Gabriel would probably help.
That lets you ignore the stupider scrolls like Volcanic Storm and Death in Three Easy Steps, which are quickly outclassed anyway.
This whole scroll thing strikes me as neat idea with not-so-well-thought-out execution. It really is too bad that the dev is ironclad about this and refuses to consider alternatives to some of the timings.

I'm currently fighting Stella and find this damn frustrating!
1: Why those pauses in the long dialog before the battle? Please, let me skip this after having listened to this 30 times!
2: Not being able to practice the new scroll "Final shot" when playing on a virtual machine makes it nearly impossible to use the scroll successfully. So, I'm giving up, for now, and I'll come back to this for sure. I just wish the damn timing could be calibrated, because it sucks on a virtual machine. This is a shame because the game is really great. So I don't wanna give up just because of that, but this battle, not being able to practice the scroll and annoying dialog where you have to hammer the x key or an other key, wait, press the key again, wait, skip some more dialog gets on my nerves. smile
