hello,
I recently baught dolphin orphius from meridian one as my trial is about to expire and I use it to death in my david and eric videos on youtube. I tried using the activation but it wouldn't work. I tried everything from longer passwords, disabling UAC and even disabling windows firewall, but It still won't activate. Is there anything I'm doing wrong?
(for security reasons, I am not giving the activation code.)
I'm afraid I'm not sure sinse I've only ever used orphius along with supernova and it's licensing and activation has always been the same as Supernovas.
I'd be interested to know what Orphius version 3 voices are like sinse after Dolphin sold the development writes to Meridian, Meridian now have version 3 out, though I'm still using the v2 human voices (I'm using Alan right now).
I've always found Orphius (at least with it's human voices), the best compromise between understandability and fast reaction speed, indeed after using Realspeak Vocalize for a while I only just realized that I was having to type slower to get realspeak to actually speak what I wrote more efficiently than I'd need to with Orphius.

I'm trying a demo of Orpheus now. I like the voices. Yeah most of them sound robotic but at least you can change a lot of things about them. The only 2 human sounding voices I found were the females for UK and US English. I'm trying both, Orpheus tts and Orpheus plus.
I'm having a problem with orphius unrellated to activation: the custom voices I made don't show up in any sapi 5 splications. this is bad because I created 2 custom voices: one to serve as a narrator and one for the new robot antagonist, trs-64 (a mashup of the names of 2 American home computers)

Where can I download this tts, and does it work with nvda/jaws/sapi5?
It works with both SAPI4 and SAPI5. I don't know the US price though, but it can be downloaded, in 30-day trial form at http://speech.meridian-one.co.uk/products.html
Hi. Yes the TTs works with NVDA JAWS and sapi 5 and sapi 4.
As for the custom voices not appearing in SAPI5 voice menus, I think you have to have the thing activated and fully working to create and edit voices. Same for the various updates that are released, because, if my memory is correct, Meridian-One is currently working on Orpheus TTS and Orpheus TTS Plus version 4.0.
forget the activation issue. It is now activated. modderators, go ahead and change this to "problem with dolphin orphius".
