Can anyone direct me to the place where I can find sport games for the blind and/or visually impaired to play such as boxing, auto racing, or football?  My wife is also blind and she likes to play games from time to time.  If you can help us locate games such as life, monopoly, or any other famus board video game for the visually impaired or blind to play, it would be greatly appreciated. We would also like to know if there are any classic video games available for us to play such as space invaders, pac man, etc? We also enjoy the accesible slot machine games for the blind as well, but have had trouble in locating a good program. If anyone can help us with locating these games, again, we would greatly appreciate it.  Thanks in advance for any and all responses to this inquiry. Please feel free to send a quick email to gregory [email protected] to let us know where to find and purchase these great games.

www.kitchensinc.net
Under windows self voicing games I believe. It has several traditional board games such as monopoly and life available for free.

Not sure of the link but I believe for car racing a good choice might be Top Speed 2, also free and capable of being played in multiplayer.

Hope this helps.Edit:
I'm sure someone can also point you to one of the space invaders type games out there, there have been several imitations made for the blind. Oh and www.gmagames.com has an adapted remake of Pacman.

You can find a very handy list of all audio and other games at http://www.pcsgames.net/  Who also sell the packman talks game mentioned earlier, http://www.draconisentertainment.com/  also sell a very addictive packman style game called dynaman wich even gives you the ability to create your own mazes to play in rather than having one standard level as in traditional packman. they also sell a very good space invaders style game, Alien outback, though in that genre I'd also recommend judgement day from http://www.l-works.net/linfo.php

who also have a free remake of the classic duckhunt game.

Then, Usa games are just releasing a great remake of a classic platformer from te 80's, montizumas return (originally Montizumas revenge), which you can find at http://www.usagames.us.

there are also many audio games that while not specific remakes of classic arcade titles, very much follow the same sort of style of gameplay, so I'd deffinately advise checking the Pcs games list and trying a lot of things out. Some of the best arcade style games Imho have been produced by lighttech interactive at http://www.lighttechinteractive.com/webpage/index.php they are also free, which helps.

Finally, My personal favourite racing game is Railracer from blind adrenaline found at http://www.blindadrenaline.com/ Though it's sort of got a futuristic theme, the control and racing style is really involved, and there are also options for things like online play (even entire online tournaments), or creating your own tracks. It does take a litle getting used to, but imho it's well worth it.

I hope with these, and with the above recommendations you can find some of the stuff your looking for.

Draconis also sell a fun ten pin bowling game called Ten Pin Alley, which can be played multiplayer from the same computer as can the Kitchens Inc games in a lot of cases. Since you're a couple this is something I felt might be worth mentioning. Top Speed 2 requires two seperate computers but can be played over a local network or similar connection, Rail Racer can only be played over the specific public server at the moment though is still fun single player.

Not saying RR is a bad suggestion, just wanted to describe the multiplayer possibilities for the aforementioned reason. Even my technophobic sighted mother finds Ten Pin Alley amusing so that must say something, laugh.

Ah, forgot about Ten pin alley there Cx2, wooopse! I know the multiplayer is one of the main selling points of the game though, but haven't really had time to try that out myself being as I don't own a cloning machine, ;D.

as for a boxing game, i think i can help.
I am a fan of boxing, and a very realistic and thrilling game to play is the savage gamit. (sorry if i spelt that one wrong)
But i do not remember where to find it.
Some one else will have to direct you to the web-site.

thanks ivan, I forgot about that one. it seems to have been abandoned by it's original author, and the website which used to have it is perminantly down, but looking at te X site games page, it seems tey've acquired the savage gambit, and will perhaps be doing further work on the game, ---- or at least sticking it up on their site, but Mike probably knows more about that than I do.

Anyway, if your interested, you can find X site at http://www.x-sight-interactive.net/

Check out our Top 25 Web Sites for Gamers who are blind at www.7128.com.
That list has annotated links to a bunch of really good places to get games, many of them totally free.
If your wife likes word games or mystery games, she might check out the blind accessible games we offer at that site.
