WARNING! Please note that some parts of this walkthrough may spoil the game, so continue reading at your own risk!
Also, note that some parts of this walkthrough, especially the part which explains how to defeat the boss, only work with TDV1, but it's basically the same procedure. I will update this article as soon as I played through the mission in TDV2.

Three-D Velocity CAN be very frustrating, so you should turn it off when you think you're getting some kind of agressive, for instance if you've been killed for the third time. Better close the game, forget about it for a while, and if you feel you could give it another shot, go ahead, but be concentrated though. smile

This article is divided into two main parts and describes how to play Three-D Velocity's mission mode. You should follow those instructions carefully:

  • Step1: Head to the island. At the beginning, change your course to something around 60 degrees. You will also get a great view when flying about 30000 up to 40000 feet, once you're on the island. Make sure your airspeed is something around 600 knots so you won't waste too much fuel.
Tip: If you throttle up till the afterburners kick in, press down arrow once to turn off your afterburners again

  • Step2: Once you are on the island, lock on the training grounds. If you cannot find them, increase your height. Make sure you don't fly over 50000 feet. Because the training grounds are heavily guarded, it is recommendable you tag the object with an LTS, once you are close enough. Then turn around and fire a cruise missile.

  • Step3: We're done here, so let's head over to the airbase and do the same procedure. Destroy the fighters and head over to the aircraft carier, we're safe at the moment.
NOTE: Do not waste a refueler if you can get to the aircraft carier safely, especially if you are close to the carier (something around sector u20).

  • Step4: Head to the power plants. Use a cruise missile to destroy it and get rid of those choppers!

  • Step5 (This is optional): Depending on how much integrity you have, you can call a refueler, because the way to the aircraft carier is way too long. Also, fighters will appear randomly.

  • Step6: Get yourself to the bridge and destroy it. You can use a cruise missile or you just quickly fly over it and fire your guns. However, it's not recommendable, because you could be hit by projectiles.

  • Step7 (optional, but highly recommended!): On your way to the radar stations, you could land on the aircraft carier and replenish your aircraft.

  • Step8: Once you (optionally) replenished your Aircraft, make your way to the Radar stations. Destroy both of them.
NOTE: Do not waste any of your cruise missiles here, it is recommendable to use your guns. I'll explain why in a moment...

How to defeat Julius Brutus, also known as "Dark Blaze"

WARNING! If you don't want to spoil the whole game, you should miss this section at once.

  • Step1: Make sure you're facing away from "dark blaze", so he's at about six or seven o clock. Use the afterburners and don't worry about the incoming missiles from behind at once. There may be multiple choppers in front of you. Actually, they're harmless in the first stage, but you should take them out when they're in front of you.

  • Step2: Once you hear the command "Go in for the kill!" or "Fire!", make a high-G turn and place an LTS. Turn around and fire a cruise missile, they will cause the most damage. Once the missile hit, do the same procedure again. Once you hear "Get outa there!" or "Break off your attack!", make a high-G turn so Dark Blaze is at 6 o clock and get away from him.

  • Step3: Make sure Brutus is behind you. Do NOT fire a cruise missile while he attacks you. He has the ability to teleport to the left/right of you and the missile would go somewhere else and if it doesn't hit anything, you won't be able to fire any more cruise missiles for a while. So make sure you only fire cruise missiles if you're sure Brutus would not appear elsewhere to attack you and avoid the missile.

  • Step4: Depending on where exactly you are located, at least at 10000 pounds of fuel, call a refueler, which will also equip you with weapons, should you run out.

  • Step5: Another problem is getting to the refueler. If you're not facing the aircraft carier (something around sector U22), the refueler is coming from behind you. To pass Brutus' aircraft, you can either wait for "Go in for the kill!" and just turn around and keep going. This method is a very risky one, because the missiles he fired before might still move towards you and would not self destruct in time. Otherwise, Brutus could suddenly start attacking you and you're history.
On the other hand you could try the following:
    1. Bank two times to the left/right.
    2. Depending on which direction you are facing, wait till the missiles fly across you and faid out.
    3. Wait till DarkBlaze is located at right behind you again and bank two more in the direction you were banking before.
    4. Now, locate the refueler...
You could also land on the carier, but this is very risky though. So make sure you have enough refueler calls left, so you don't need to land on the carier.

  • Step6: After you replenished your aircraft, make sure DarkBlaze is located behind you again and get speed if you're not sure whether he's attacking or not. Now, do the same procedure as usual, just as nothing happened.

With this walkthrough, you should be able to defeat Julius Brutus in Three-D Velocity's MissionMode. Hope this helps.
Oh and one more thing: Don't care about the fighters and choppers in all three boss stages. Just make sure everything is located behind you. Maybe you hit something else when firing a missile, but then you don't have to worry about this one anymore.

HAPPY GAMING!
