hi everyone
i've exiting news. but first some background information.
i can still remember that some members of this community me included have tried the browser game desert-operations.
at that time it wasn't playable at all. at least for a blind user. the buildings you can construct hadn't any labling so it was a lot of clicking and hoping you open the correct buildingtab. last year in april me and a friend looked it over again, and at that time weren't any improvements made. so i opned a topic on the forum and wrote a ingame message to a admin. i haven't got any reply and i went offline for other business.
now ... at least one year later i logged in again and i was really surprised. in positive. now my screenreader can read wich buildings i have in my base, and when a building needs constructing still i can read it, something like ... build a simulator ... i don't know in english because i am playing on the dutch server. but i asume this mentenance has gone through all servers.
goal of the game:
you'll start with a set of several thousands of dollars and no building. you've to build a command centre. and while you're building that a general takes your hand and guides you through the basic steps of building your base. it takes a lot of time before a building is completed or several buildings are completed. it will take much less time to build a house instead of 90 houses.
the goal of the game is to develop a good strategy were you can climb the ranklist with. you can attack other bases, or you can build a huge army to surprise a attacking army.
it is up to you. but in the netherlands we say the attack is the greatest defence.
you can see the best for yourself.
and if the buildings aren't labled we all can make a topic on the forum of our own country and shout out for maintenance.
i am not sure if it was my shout wich made the buildings labled. but it could be.
i am using jaws 13 and one of the latest releases of internet explorer.
of nvda, hal, window eyes, system acces i don't knjjow anything but i think it works the same.
the layout is a bit of finding out where you are, you should getting used to it.
but in my oppinion it is completely playable and in my case accessible.
