well, basically when you start the game you'll get a text box with your character's name, you can just leave that actually
the next choice box is your starting job, of which there are about 20
after the text boxes, you find yourself in pakido, your first town
you can talk to people, go buy some items, see your master, do a tutorial or leave
if you leave, which is the bottom choice, you choose where you want to go, save/load, open the menu or quit the game
if you just started playing you'll have 2 choices at the top for places, pakido where you just came from and mairu hegen or something like that, yukio please excuse my bad romanization! hahaha
go to the second one and choose the top choice in that new menu, you're hear some text and then turn 1, and you start fighting with all your chars
its hard to explain, so I'll just do a basic recording of a fight after school today
but basics
there is a field for you to battle in, and each of your characters can move 4 spaces in any direction as long as nothing's blocking you
there are 2 different ping sounds to tell you where your party and the enemy is
there are 2 types of attacks, direct and indirect
direct is if you're facing an enemy and you'd run in to them if you kept going
indirect is if you can just hear the ping but either because you can't move anymore or because you don't want to
press a to attack, if its an indirect attack you'll hear your character attack, if its direct....
press the right arrow for a heavy attack, down for a medium attack and left for a light attack
I usually do 2 heavy attacks then a light attack
press W while you're wandering around for your skills/magic, press I for items and q if you want the character to do nothing
