i agree with you that it will be better when i let the player walk around, but when i want to do that i need a tutorial about how to create a map because the tutorial included with the engine is very vague to me.

but this is an audiogame version of my previously created gamebook, with random elements like the winning or losing of an fight.

ok thanks. but can you both or others please give me the code for a map, a function to let the player walk, a way to keep using the scripts i've written like the_tower script so they can walk in the tower and going upstairs etc etc.

everything i need to make it more interactive.

how do you start this game?
well i no how to start, i rite my name. press enter. press f for some reason and it takes me to a forust i think. then e takes meto a tower then the game just sstops. well it doesn't bring up an error it just sits there.

when you've created your char you've to press the f key to finalise your char, just to make sure that you want that character. when you start, are you walking along a road where the sea can be heared. when you enter the tower you can go upstairs, go around the corner, follow your uncle, go through the portal and enter the forest. fight the amulet raider *you can lose and you'll return to the edge of the forest) and when you win you've ended the demo.

all keys, from the road to the tower for an example are spoken in a sapi message. it sais: "press the e key to enter the tower or the l key to leave it behind."

for as far as i know the keys for entereing a new area are spoken ... like the p for entering the portal or d for going downstairs.

if not please tell me and i'll look to the game once more. i'll play it again and i'll see if it is the case.

you shouldn't forget that this game is like an audio based gamebook. more advanced than my html version.

but please tell me if you need more information.

ooh ... that's weird. i defined the sapi variable.
i defined:

tts_voice v;

and when i want to speak a message i used:

v.speak_wait("my message");

it's very strange it doesn't work at your pc.

on my 32 bit machien win7 it works fine.

i don't know how to fix this, maybe other members can help you out. and me of course so i know what i need to do to fix your problem.

Sapi works very well for me. Maybe you should repair it?
Kitchensinc do have a tool which should fix sapi problems.

But I'm  really really not able to understand what's your problem. Droppbox works just fine for me. I can upload and download stuff very well.

This shoulden't be a problem. I own a german PC and it works very well.
Do you have looked at the dropbox Tray icon? There you can find the information whether your file is currently uploading or not. If it is, then it is normal that you get this error. Wait a bit and look again. If he says "all files are up to date" or something like this, it should work.
If you use NVDA, there's a global plugin for checking droppbox uploading statuses.
