MsgBox "In the village of Vernok was a hunter named Joe. He was the sort of person that is calm, collected, and didn't allow many things to bother him. One day while walking along the road, he came across an old scroll. He opened it up and tried to understand what he was looking at. He saw what appeared to be a few trees, a swamp, and on the far side of the scroll, he saw sharp points that resembled mountains. Oh! It hit him. It wasn't a scroll he was looking at but rather a map. On the mountains there was a written word Bobo and he knew what that meant. Joe reflected back at his grandfather telling him about an ancient land named Bobo and the many treasures hidden there, particularly an ancient tribal statue.  The statue was supposedly placed in a cave that was located in the center of a mountain."
MsgBox "Joe knew that the land was very far from Vernok, but being adventurous, he decided to try to find it.  He set out."
MsgBox "Join began to walk towards the land of Maw.  He was holding the map in his hand.  A Mawbian woman approached him. Can I help you? she asked. Joe explained that he was searching for the land of Bobo. The Mawbian woman chuckled at him and pointed towards a distant jungle. She explained that by cutting through the jungle, he could cut his journey in half."
MsgBox "Joe nodded his head in appreciation and began to walk towards the jungle. When he arrived there, he could hear a gentle stream, birds, and an occasional monkey.  It looked inviting."
End Sub

Private Sub l1_Click()
MsgBox "Joe went into the jungle. Once he entered, he could faintly see what appeared to be flat "
MsgBox "grasslands. He looked at his map and noticed that on the other side of the jungle were "
MsgBox "pictures of grass. Based on this, he decided to head in that direction. This took him deeper "
MsgBox "into the jungle."
MsgBox "Along the way, he noticed very strange markings on the trees. Voodoo doctor markings he"
MsgBox "told himself. His grandfather once told him a voodoo doctor always marks his territory.  Joe "
MsgBox "knew that most voodoo doctors could train jungle animals to alert them of intruders.  "
MsgBox "Aware of this, Joe pulled out his blow dart gun knowing that he must use it on any animals "
MsgBox "that he sees. He didn't want the voodoo doctor to know his location. "
MsgBox "As he began to walk deeper into the jungle, he would shoot (stun) the animals as quickly as "
MsgBox "he would see them.  The animals, however, began to appear so quickly that he was unable to "
MsgBox "keep up.   He knew this meant trouble. He heard a horrific sound in the distance coming at "
MsgBox "him.  IT WAS THE VOODOO DOCTOR!!!"
MsgBox "Joe's grandfather told him that the voodoo doctor and his trained animals could not locate a "
MsgBox "person if they were in a tree. For some unexplained reason, it hid a person from them."
MsgBox "He looked around for any low hanging branch or vine but couldn't find any. He saw that the "
MsgBox "trees had been intentionally shaved off. This didn't look good for Joe, but he wasn't yet "
MsgBox "frightened.  He noticed a bird sitting in a tree and tossed a rock toward it. The bird "
MsgBox "frantically flew away, inadvertently knocking a branch free. Joe grabbed the branch and"
MsgBox "began climbing upward.  "
MsgBox "The voodoo doctor eventually arrived at the tree in which Joe was hiding.  He was   stomping "

MsgBox "Joe pulled out his map and took a long look at it. The map showed that the grassy area was "
MsgBox "right ahead.  He emerged out of the jungle expecting to encounter the grasslands, but to his "
MsgBox "surprise, it was a swamp.  Joe wasn't exactly comfortable with this situation. After all, "
MsgBox "the sun was beginning to set and he didn't know what to expect.  Were there beasts?  Maybe "
MsgBox "quicksand?  He didn't know.  After pondering a bit, he decided to hurry so that he might "
MsgBox "make it across the swamp. There appeared to be a river in the distance, which would offer "
MsgBox "good drinking water as well as fresh fish for dinner."
MsgBox "Along the way he encountered a few spitting geysers. Joe knew the danger of walking too "
MsgBox "closely it could kill him.  He also looked intently at the surrounding swamp searching for"
MsgBox "a dark green color. That, he knew, meant deep thick swamp water that could easily cost him "
MsgBox "his life."
MsgBox "Joe noticed a beautiful bird sitting on a tree branch.  The bird was so stunning that he "
MsgBox "could not take his eyes off of it.  He was so distracted that he walked directly into the "
MsgBox "deep water. He panicked, struggling against the pull of the thick water."
MsgBox "He swam for his life, swallowing large amounts of water. He gradually began to weaken.  He "
MsgBox "reached out in absolute desperation and blindly came across some roots hanging in the water. "
MsgBox "He latched onto the roots like a vulture on his prey.  He weakly pulled himself to land.  He "
MsgBox "laid there for a long time, unable to breath and vomiting up water.  Eventually he arose and "
MsgBox "walked towards the river in the near distance."

Private Sub l3_Click()
MsgBox "Joe came up to a bustling river that he knew had clean water and edible fish. He looked "
MsgBox "around and began to gather the thick riverweeds in order to make a net. He cast it into the "
MsgBox "river and began to catch the passing fish. The river's current was strong enough that it "
MsgBox "brought many schools of fish past him. He had hit the jackpot.  A crocodile appeared in "
MsgBox "front of him, but Joe knew that the river's current was strong enough to pull the large "
MsgBox "beast past him.  After a while of fishing, he built a fire and cooked his catch.  After he "
MsgBox "finished his meal, he fell in a very deep sleep brought on by the day's ordeals."
MsgBox "At the break of dawn, he arose and grabbed the map, which was sitting beside the fizzling "
MsgBox "coals from the fire. He had placed it there prior to falling asleep since the swamp waters"
MsgBox "had drenched it. It was now dried out enough for him to recognize some of the markings on "
MsgBox "it."
MsgBox "He decided that he should walk down the side of the river for a while. As he was looking at "

MsgBox "musical, almost like a church choir. He paused a minute, caught up in the majestic sound. "
MsgBox "Something, however, didn't seem quite right - almost sinister.   He recalled his grandfather "
MsgBox "telling him about gnappers, bugs that sounded majestic due to their ability to harmonize."
MsgBox "His grandfather also told him that one bite from a gnapper would cause death in seconds."
MsgBox "Joe quickly broke from the mesmerizing sound of the bugs.  He knew he had to react fast or "
MsgBox "his life was in danger. The annoying pest that he had shaken off him earlier was a gnapper.  "
MsgBox "It had let out a warning cry, summoning the distant swarm, which was now in pursuit of Joe."
MsgBox "Joe ran as quickly as possible, smacking gnappers off the exposed parts of his flesh.  A "

MsgBox "in his pocket, he began to walk slowly down the slope of the valley. As he walked, Joe "
MsgBox "marveled at the beautiful nature around him. To his left were beautiful flowers that covered "
MsgBox "the ground like a quilted blanket."
MsgBox "Joe eventually arrived at two large trees where he stopped for a much needed rest.  As he "
MsgBox "began to close his eyes, he noticed that one of the trees was covered with large scratch "
MsgBox "marks.  Joe was filled with terror.  The ferocious tigers that were indigenous to this area "
MsgBox ""
MsgBox "there pondering his options, Joe observed a tiger cub playing in the clearing.  He decided "
MsgBox "to distract the cub by tossing a rock sharply to his right.  At the same time, Joe headed "
MsgBox "quickly toward his destination in the opposite direction.    "
MsgBox "Joe reached the base of a mountain, which he knew from his map to be the border of Bobo."
End Sub

Private Sub l7_Click()
MsgBox "As he began to ascend, Joe used any crack or nook in the side of the mountain to grab onto. He wished he would have kept the rope from the canoe, but it was too late now.  He noticed a large cleft to his left so he reached for it.  Just as he did, he discovered a large rattlesnake looking at him.  Joe knew that he must remain still in order to keep the snake from striking him."
MsgBox "He began to breathe slowly and calmly, even though he was almost hysterical with fear."
MsgBox "Soon, the rattler began to slither away.  Joe, in his panic, didn't realize that the snake was moving away from him.  He just noticed movement.  He scurried in the opposite direction as fast as he could.  The snake lunged at him and latched onto his foot with its fangs. Joe kicked it into the side of the mountain until it fell away. "
MsgBox "He felt a throbbing in his foot and knew he had been struck. The question was, how bad was it?  Would it be fatal? He had few options, so resigned himself to his fate, whatever that might be.  He continued to move up the side of the mountain hoping to find a ledge on which to rest.  He eventually came to a ledge that was just wide enough for him to place his backside on.  He stopped and looked down at the bitten foot and noticed something - the rattler had bitten into his shoe but somehow did not make it through the thick coverings to his foot.  He smiled, remembering that the village shoe crafter had made a mistake when constructing his shoes.  Joe had asked for soft deerskin but the shoemaker had used thick horse leather instead.  The burning pain Joe was feeling in his foot was not the poison of a rattler but rather the firm grip of the shoe on his foot.  His shoes were pinching his toes. "
MsgBox "He rested his head back on the mountain and sighed a deep sigh of relief. That was a close call, he thought to himself."
MsgBox "Joe suddenly heard screaming from above him.  He saw a gorilla, which seemed to be mildly aggravated by his presence.  As the gorilla began to throw coconuts at him, Joe laughed at the fellow's playful streak."
MsgBox "As he arose and began to climb toward the gorilla, the primate lunged a coconut that hit Joe in the hand. It hurt so bad that Joe pulled his hand away and almost plunged to his death. He then realized that his funny friend could easily kill him if one of those hard coconuts would hit him on the head."
MsgBox "Joe began avoiding the coconuts and kept climbing up the mountain in a desperate search for the hidden cave that he had seen on the map. He eventually came to a large crack in the side of the mountain and he was struck with amazement.  This was the cave that his grandfather had told him about   His body trembled with excitement as he realized how close he was to finding the ancient treasure.  "
End Sub

Private Sub l8_Click()
MsgBox "Joe walked into the dimly lit cave and immediately saw it! There it was, the ancient treasure he had heard about for so long. He fell to one knee and began to laugh. There lay thousands of gold coins. He picked one up and looked at it. It was engraved with a parrot and nothing else. Joe then noticed the walls of the cave, which were covered with dozens of painted parrots.  He wondered about the ancient Bobo tribe and their fascination with parrots.  "
MsgBox "He quickly forgot about the parrots as he began gathering the gold coins.  As he picked one up, a scorpion lunged at his hand.  This time he knew for certain that he had been bit."
MsgBox "Joe put his hand to his mouth and sucked so hard that his ears started to ring. He could taste the small amount of poison coming from his hand.  He spit it on the ground."
MsgBox "He then realized that if there was one scorpion, there could possibly be more. So he began kicking the coins with his foot prior to picking them up. Joe came across many scorpions while gathering the coins."
MsgBox "Joe knew that the treasure consisted of more than these coins.  He began to search the cave for the ancient Bobo tribal statue.  He noticed what appeared to be an opening on one side of the cave.   He entered and immediately saw it.  The ancient Bobo tribal statue!"
MsgBox "It was a combination of gold, silver, bronze, diamonds, rubies, and gems of all kinds. All of the stones and gold were blended into an exquisitely shaped cup. The rim was covered in precious stones.  The base of the cup was about 10 inches round and stood about 3 feet tall. It was pure gold."
MsgBox "He stared at it for a long long time. He reflected back at the long journey and fiery trials he had to go through to get to this moment."
MsgBox "Joe looked at the walls where he noticed more pictures.  The first picture depicted a "
MsgBox "warrior in the distance, watching a man who was touching the statue.  The next picture "
MsgBox "displayed a person arranging what appeared to be bone pipes.  The same warrior was also "
MsgBox "watching this person.  The final picture showed the warrior killing a person.  Below this "
MsgBox "picture was the word Marpoo.  Joe now knew the meaning of the pictures.  He recalled the"
MsgBox "story told to him by his grandfather.  The story went like this....A person found the "
MsgBox "ancient Bobo tribal statue in a cave.  As the person attempted to take the statue from the "
MsgBox "cave, the nearby Marpoo warrior was awakened.  The warrior was angered when he saw what the "
MsgBox "person was trying to do, so he captured the person to kill him. There was only one reprieve "
MsgBox "for this person.  He must be able to arrange a set of bone pipes in proper order from "
MsgBox "highest to lowest pitch in order to preserve his life.  If the pipes were arranged in proper "
MsgBox "order, a secret door would open and the person would be allowed to escape.  If not, the "
MsgBox "warrior would kill the person.   The person had only a minute or so to complete the "
MsgBox "arrangement of the pipes."
End Sub

Private Sub l9_Click()
MsgBox "Joe looked at the paintings on the wall a second time and then at the ancient Bobo tribal "
MsgBox "statue. The story that was told to him as a child could now become a reality.  He knew that "
MsgBox "if he grabbed the statue, it would awaken Marpoo.  He would then have to quickly arrange the "
MsgBox "pipes to escape through the secret passage. "
MsgBox "Joe debated whether to leave with just the coins or should attempt to grab the statue. He "
MsgBox "stared at the statue for a long time, pondering.  In a split second Joe grabbed the ancient "
MsgBox "statue and ran to the bone pipes hanging on the wall.  As he grabbed the bone pipes, he "
MsgBox "discovered that they were actual human bones.  Joe surmised that the bones were from past "
MsgBox "victims.  I wont be the next one, he thought to himself."
MsgBox "Soon he heard a roar unlike anything he had heard before.  Marpoo! he told himself. The"
MsgBox "roar became louder each time Joe blew a bone pipe.  Unknown until this time, Joe discovered "
MsgBox "that he had a natural ability to hear tones. He began arranging the pipes in proper order "
MsgBox "with little effort. When he had 3 pipes remaining, he turned and looked at the warrior.  "
MsgBox "Marpoo was huge, standing about 10 feet tall and 4 feet wide.  He was smiling and had his "
MsgBox "hand extended as if to shake hands.  Joe was completely taken back.  Was the warrior trying "
MsgBox "to be friends?  Thinking about the human bones that he was arranging, Joe decided that it "
MsgBox "was a trick.  He hurriedly blew on the remaining pipes and finished arranging them.  "
MsgBox "Immediately, the secret passage door began to open."
MsgBox "Joe glanced back at Marpoo who was now coming toward him.  The great warrior was no longer "
MsgBox "smiling.  Marpoo looked at him with fire in his eyes.  This was the first time in centuries "
MsgBox "that Marpoo had been beat.  He was not going to allow Joe to escape easily. "
MsgBox "Joe lunged toward the barely opened door, cracking his jaw.  He then broke several ribs as "
MsgBox "he twisted and squirmed to get through the tiny opening that had been created.  Out of the "
MsgBox "corner of his eyes, he could see Marpoo coming to kill him."
MsgBox "Marpoo shot out his hand and clawed at Joe's arm. Joe managed to maintain his hold on the "
MsgBox "statue, but his arm felt like the mouth of the devil had bitten it.  He saw a large "
MsgBox "waterfall ahead and ran toward it.  Looking over his shoulder, he could see that Marpoo was "
MsgBox "gaining on him."
