Dido.  I don't really understand the point of the play center.

Hi,

The purpose of the PlayCenter is to provide a

home for games *hosted* by AudioGames.net. At the moment all the games in

the archive can be downloaded from the developers' websites. The purpose of

the PlayCenter is that you can download games directly from the

AudioGames.net website. The purpose of the PlayCenter is also that in the

future you can play games (accessible Flash/Shockwave/Java-games) here at

the AudioGames.net website! Like I said in the news, we're currently in the

process of adding our own games (The Curb Game, Drive, etc.). You may have

noticed these games cannot be downloaded from www.soundsupport.net anymore.

Sander and I decided to move those games over to AudioGames.net and, for the

online games, provide a space within the AudioGames.net website where these

games can be played (similar to The Curb Game on the SoundSupport.net

website). I have developed many research/prototype audio games over the past

few years which I'd like to put online*. We hope for the PlayCenter to be

an online accessible/audio game resource, similar to for instance

http://games.yahoo.com and ...er... (google-google)... www.candystand.com

and similar websites smile . This type of "service" is still missing in the

audio game community. Due to our lack of time don't expect a lot of games

soon, though. We're working on it! And if you wish to see a certain (remake

of a) game here in an online form (such as a "space invaders"-type game, an

"arkenoid"- type game, etc.) please tell us! When the PlayCenter really

opens (that is, when the first game is added), we will also expand this

forum with a special PlayCenter-section where you can find info about the

games and communicate about them.

Hope this clears it all up a bit!

Greets,

Richard!

* Also: there have already been several projects

involving accessible online audio games in Flash or Shockwave (like those of

the Sonokids' games and the games by Dan G

richod,
please, please try to get terra sonica! i heard the ingame

recording, i wouyld love to see it on the play centor for download or

play.
i am guessing the downloadable game may be about 100 mb, due to the

voice clips and sounds. i think you need to disable evil sound things or

something, or break through something, walls of sound, using hmm... i don't

exactly know, read the article on it and it was good. anyone have more info?

hay, what else have you developed? i've ehard of "dark - a garden

wonder". im not too sure about wat games i'd like to see remaked.
oh, for

arcade games, go to http://mame32roms.chessman21.com, download mame32, and

get: x men, blade master and a few others from there. blade master and x men

are side scrolling fighters. they arn't really for blind people, but i am

planning to make an mp3 file with me playing them and telling you what i do.

basicly, just go right and when you hear yourself getting hit, attack like

hell!

it

would be cool to have the curb game and other online games be downloadable

too instead of only being able to be played online for the playCenter

2005-11-27 12:51:50

Yes, but then it would only be a DownloadCenter

instead of a PlayCenter smile

Hi

Aaron,

TerraSonica is property of a company that went bankrupt...they

never released the source code. Tomorrow, I will ask the makers of it

whether is would be possible to obtain the application and make it

downloadable...

Richard,
Microhosting sounds like a great idea to me. I'll have to talk to the owners of the flash games (TPB.se / DBB.dk / timgames.org) about this though. In any case, I can assist with English translations of instructions that you can store in connection to the game links.
