like that game but yeah I hate the voices I as hoping for new ones...

i can't even start the game. well it says the requirements are windows 98
or higher, well i have windows xp pro, 40 mb free space and 40 for
installation, well in c: i have over 75 gb left of free space. directX must
be good as well, since you need 8.1 or later and troopanum worked for me,
which needed 8.0 or later and i got an error like bad game. id file. and not
the thing like directsound with anything like that. well sod was real cool
when i played it and now i got a computer for home and my laptop i only had
is now for school, which has no games on it. so i want to play it again
especially because all the new features but how? someone knows how i can fix
the error?

mike, your starting to get really annoying. look at your signature. now that
is a real bad signature.
well, the game is good, but i hate that i don't have free movement, it
really sucks now.
although the game is as good as it ever was.
The Bad
game file error has been mentioned repeatedly on the Audyssey list, which I
just joined erecently, along with the sound issues. One suggestion is to
press control + r to reset the sound card, but this doesn't always seem to
work.
By the way Mike, that would be classed as personal abuse and be a
breach of the forum rules.

As for swearing at Mike: um...we're talking about a user that
is strongly disliked here, who insults people with his signature and is not
mature enough to deserve civility, let alone utilize it. Standing up for the
person will do no good, but I plan no further responses on the subject
unless I feel they are warranted.
Personal opinions about a certain user do not justify uncivil behavior. The
proper response is to ignore, not engage in uncivil behavior themselves.

me for being tired of the guy's antics though.
And no, that message about
MSN and such where someone tried rhyming and half-succeeded isn't really
spam. Spam is usually described as multiple
interruptive/off-topic/repetitive posts from the same user (though not
always, of course).
Back on
topic there's apparently a new patch available which helps with something
called a "bad game id" error, don't know if this will
help.

Cool. I knew there was a patch but I didn't have the URL. That should
clear up the Bad Game ID error. I don't know why some people have it and
others don't. I never had it myself.

it worked now but i hate the default is just walking forward continuously.
You
can change that in the Keystrokes.ini file in c:\program files\shades of
doom. I personally don't know how to modify that since I never really had
any problems with the continuous walking nor any real desire to change it,
but you can set the controls up the way they were in the original. The
Keystrokes file should open up in any word processing program and you can
make any changes there. Then all you have to do is save it and it should
work. That's one thing David Greenwood's told people on their mailing
list, so yes, you can alter the keystrokes if you want to. If I was to
change anything it would be to put the Bio Grnades on the numer 0 so all the
weapons were on the numer row.
