No. Unless the owner grants license it is illegal. It doesn't matter if
the game is for sale anymore or not.
I
don't care, Adora doesn't know, Adora doesn't care. Let's crack em! Who
knows how to crack? Or the other option is to give eachother keys...
i
know what you mean, bavisoft. but we can't buy the games anymore can we?
and those who still want to play the games and not the demos the only chance
to get them is to crack them isn't it?
well they can always do like self
destruct they can get a keygen in the game so someone who still wants to
play the full versions can use it. well, nothing about this may be true, its
just my oppinion. i don't care what they do, but i would like to play the
full version of mb or something so i cant do it now
It's
illegal no matter why you think you should be able to do it or not. If the
company has not released the games as freeware or abandonware, then it's
illegal to crack them.
Though I must say, I would much love a full version
of MB, since I played the demo and thought it was half-decent, anyway.
Well maybe it isn't proper but I know I would have loved to play (i even
tried to buy) pinball extreme. If anyone wants to give there key I'm
at:
[email protected]
We haven't heard anything from this company and
I'm sure we won't again unless someone buys the rights. I think that's
been done before hasn't it? I can't quite... uh... Yeah it has!

The
vultures are starting to circle...
It's barely been any time in the real
world since the news about Adora. At least give them more time.
Oh, and
they *will* know you're doing this if you keep talking about it on this
forum. Use a bit of common sense.
This is one of the reasons people should purchase something they want, for
there is no guarantee that it will be available in the future.
An
example: Disney Corporation releases videos for a limited time and after
that they are unavailable. It is not legal, moral, or ethical to pirate a
Disney Video simply because it is unavailable for purchase.
I don't know what to think now...
I've got all the games, and I
have no inclination to give out the keys. The company is gonna hopefully
stay up. I don't want anyone to start cracking just because adora isn't
functioning.
You idiot Mike. You can't buy from them anymore. I got them before
they went on hiatus.
Just
wanted to make it clear, I was in no way trying to say that I wanted a
cracked version/key to MB. Only saying that I want a chance to play it in
its entirety. Whether that comes in the form of abandonware later down the
road, or having to buy it if/when Adora's back on its feet, I don't
care.
I shamefully admit to having played a cracked game or two in the
past, but I felt bad about it and don't think I'd ever do it again.
Totally agreed. I had *once* played a cracked version of troop 2 I
think it was. I uninstalled it immediately, and never cracked another of
BSC's games. I haven't played cracked games for awhile, but some people
seem to like sending keys around to each other, and it so happens I got the
keys for a few of the adora games. Not that I used them, but I stillh h
them.
p.s. Sorry for the braille contraction for have in the last line. I
am also doing homework on my pac mate which has a braille keyboard.
I
can assure you that had funds been available I'd have purchased Alien
Outback. Unfortunately at the last time the company was still up I didn't
have the funds. I also was at school so I couldn't have installed in on
any computers (my personal one was and is still dead), so I lost my
opportunity. Unfortunately the demo I had on the computer I'm using had
expired long before I returned home, by which time Adora was---well I don't
wanna say dead, but it's whatever it is. So what happens if the games
become abandonware? That's not a term with which I'm familiar. Do they
just remove the demo limitations?
Legally there is no such thing as abandonware. The ownership of a work does
not expire because an individual or company ceases to produce or support
that work. The rights of ownership are still held by the indivudual or
company. While it is likely that an individual or company that has
"abandoned" a work will not seek damages for copyright violations, they may
still do so. Statutory damages are hefty. For more information:

Don't call me that. I was
just wondering.
well,
how about emailing adora instead of asking on the forum? adora do not come
on the forum so noone actually knows the answer. it will be probably no, but
except they're gonna release the games as abandonware.
That's if they even reply to you. I wrote to them at the first opportunity
and have heard nothing since, well over a month ago. So I'm guessing no.
I'll tell you what happens. I didn't look at the news section on the
frontpage of adora (I guess I'm the idiot) so I purchased pbx and waited,
waited, checked email, waited, checked website, waited, and nothing. My
order is still pending and no one has responded to my emails. So hopefully
you can see why I'm just a little frustrated and am jsut plainly asking for
a key. I didn't have very much time to buy this game so it's not like AOB
or anything.

Guess we're left in the dust until such time as we hear differently.
And Bavisoft, I'm jost going to point out that even once Disney Corporation
makes their videos unavailable you can still find nonpirated copies if you
know where to look. Places like Amazon.com often carry used copies. Granted
I don't know if that's truly legal but still...I just thought I'd mention
it. Of course the situation is different here. You're not likely to find
Alien Outback on Amazon.com, or if you do it'll be something totally
different (hehh hehh).
BryanP, you are exactly correct re:used copies. It is perfectly legal if
the original license allows for the transfer of the user license which
videos usually do. What would not be legal is keeping a copy for yourself
and reselling the original to someone else.
I'm a
little cheesed off because I only just found the demos for pinball and ten
pin alley, then within a week or two Adora went... whatever.
I strongly
suspect there isn't even anyone checking email there anymore.
well,
if you'd have red my post in "all you guys" ,I sed that there are
some good people on this forum, this topic demonstrated it!
my hart chears
when I read this topic, particularly your post jade
thanks
best regards to

Oh
yeah. I was hacked off. I'd just played Alien Outback for the first time
and Adora decides to go on permanent vacation or whatever. Let's hope
somebody buys the company!
