I

made bloody sure to get Brinivor's maximum bid on the cup, and the Hale

Blade was easy to get.
I'll keep that in mind, then, and just store the

remainder of my good stuff (expensive stuff) in my dwelling, so that

when/if? the time comes that someone'll pay half-decent gold for it, I can

capitalize. And there's no point killing the dragon unless someone'll

actually pay a good price for the emeralds.

*eagerly awaits Daggerspire

and the other bits of AG stuff that's been promised of late*

Dragon? There's a dragon? Could I have missed a quest? I could use the

EXP, even if the items aren't better than what I have. I heard of a dragon

egg quest somewhere but could never find it.

But wait, what's that? A transport! Saved am I! Hark, over here! Hey nonny non, please help!

Dragon Egg: Random Encounter in Trithik till you get the band of six Tsaryl

or whatever, and kill 'em and get the egg they had. Then keep random

encountering till you see the dusk dragon circling, and use the egg.

As

for killing a dragon, try going to Talenis after you'r experienced enough.

Some dude'll tell you about a dragon's lair. Just beat the info out of him

unless you wanna fork a huge hunk of gold over. *rolls eyes* That dragon's

nasty though, go in there with three blessings and pray.

Is

it the same kid who tells you about the statue? That's the only guy I know

of who has information.

But wait, what's that? A transport! Saved am I! Hark, over here! Hey nonny non, please help!

2005-10-16 08:25:28

Nope

nope. You run into this guy when leaving the weapon shop or armour shop in

Talenis. You might have to have done something, though. I usually encounter

him "Barnlin, his name is", after Westwold and Gralgarak's tomb, but before

SBH and the Murk.

Hmmm, that'd explain why I've never met him. 'Course I don't think I

visited those shops before attempting those quests. I'd already gotten the

Hale Blade and the armor I had was pretty good for where I was. As I recall

it was a Knight's Breastplate, Gralgarak's Shieled and the rest of the

gear from the statue quest.

2005-10-17 14:44:02

hi,
i restarted my veidinous character.
I must say he's better now, i

kept going untill i got magic.
i now have the ability to conjour ollusions,

they do work most of the time.
I'm also a member of the silver crest,

i've killed a thern-worm and got my silver feather from a takaback.
I'mve

got a lot of gold, but i'm waiting to buy some exotic weapons in triffic.

is there anywhere i can go or do to get more magical abilities, besides my

current one i mean.
and on one of my adventures in triffic i was robbed, i

got my gold back but got a goblin statuet from one bulky man i knocked

out.
anyone know what i should do with it?
thanks

also, as my alternative character arkarian i have restarted him as well,

and have come across two items.
I successfully drank the hammertongue in

the stoneback tavern in hawklor, and i now have a flask of the strong drink,

and an enchanted dagger.
So, firstly, are there any characters in the

outlying regions who i can give the drink to, and where can i get the

highest price for my dagger.
or, should i hold on to it for the

moment.
thanks

2005-10-17 18:24:23

As

for the flask of Hammertongue, you used to be able to give it to the giant

in the mountains but you can't do that anymore. I don't even take it

myself since as far as I know you can't do anything with it. As for the

enchanted dagger, the highest price you can get is 300 or so, and that's at

Bryniver's in Trithik. Everywhere else will only give you a hundred, and

it's worth several thousand. As to your other question, you can visit the

Grey Circle in Talinus to learn magic, but it costs loads of EXP, and you

can only get in after completeing The Secret of Stoneback Hill, one of the

adventures in Trithik. You can also acquire another ability by using the

Tattered Scroll found in Stoneback Hill as well. Also, Ethulle, the woman in

the Murk, can train you to learn one magical ability, and you can get

another from the second Murk quest. So there are a few ways to gain magical

abilities, but you'll want a lot more experience, both to increase your

Melee Rating (you want at least 40 to tackle Stoneback Hill), and to afford

new abilities at the Grey Circle. My current character has all the spheres

of magic except Necromancy, and I plan on learning it as soon as I can, that

being once I've gotten my MR up a bit.

But wait, what's that? A transport! Saved am I! Hark, over here! Hey nonny non, please help!

2005-10-17 23:16:17

thx, and any suggestion of what i do with my goblin statuet?
thx

See

what it might sell for, and if it's worth it to ya, sell it. If you get

told it's worth some outrageous amount of gold though, I'd simply stash it

in your dwelling or whatnot.

If I play my newly created character,

Sharvyn, correctly...he's gonna have a MR of 64 when he's all done. He's

57 without having touched Kyul-Thanor, SBH or the Murk.

it's worth gold, i offered it to the peddler in that tiny village colleya

or something, i was only offered 1 gold token.
Do you know any character

who want's the thing? and if so, what town are they in.
I used it during

the westwold adventure, light streamed from it's mouth.
I got quite a few

items from old westwold, er a flayl, a derk, a padded sleeves, studded

gauntlets, and rescued three prisoners.
but then i got killed by a goblin

huntsman before i could get outa there.
p.s i got a jarix stone, do you

know what i can do with it? or what i need to do with i?
thx guys.

The

character I'm playing with now has no magic, but her MR is at 64 and she's

just about to tackle Stoneback Hill. And yes I've completed all the current

quests in Kyul-Thanor including Return of Ironfist. Man I wish I coulda

killed him. I whipped him pretty good and he decided to run off. Even those

Stone Constructs of his were no match for me. Now if only I could kill that

blasted Netherwraith...I'd be willing to bet it's got the key you need for

that one chest that has the mask in it. I've always forced the lid open or

used magic but that's too unpredictable and I could use the EXP reward you

get for having the right key. And isn't there a key to the last door as

well?

But wait, what's that? A transport! Saved am I! Hark, over here! Hey nonny non, please help!

2005-10-20 22:59:38

The

key to the last door is easy to find. There's an apparently useless item

you get from the chest in SBH, in the easternmost north room with the female

sorcerer thing. I'm sure you can figure out how to retrieve it.
I haven't

yet found another way to open the chest besides forcing it or using magic,

either. When you find a Netherwraith, you could always try the trick I

mentioned. But instead of unequipping your sword, go running around with it

unequipped since battles are pretty much instantaneous. Then, when you see

it, find out what happens.

Oh, and as for the statuette, I don't know of

any use for it nor anyone who wants it. If you had trouble with the

Huntsman, be very very careful of the war band. I had a stellar MR and

almost lost, myself.

2005-10-21 05:25:04

I

know about the skull mask. Is that what you're talking about? All that does

is let you get by the hands in the last corridor. But as for a key I've

never managed to find it. I did notice there was a small hole bored into the

bottom of that chest where the mask was but I could never figure out what if

any significance it might have. BTW, have you played Daggerspire yet? It

just came out apparently.

But wait, what's that? A transport! Saved am I! Hark, over here! Hey nonny non, please help!

2005-10-21 05:32:25

And

what was that about unequipping my sword? I don't seem to remember

mentioning that, and anyways I don't have the skill of unarmed combat.

Right now I'm just trying to get my one mage character's Melee Rating up.

She's at twenty-eight or so now and I know that if I want her to succeed in

Stoneback Hill to pick a quest at random I'm gonna need a better Melee

Rating than that. Well, now that I've realized random encounters are a good

way to earn both EXp and money I should do fine as long as I'm careful what

I fight. I did find that dragon egg quest. Nice little EXP bonus, too. I

wonder if you'll be able to call on her in future quests? Well, I've got

some gobblins to thrash so I better get to it. Oh, and if you have played or

are playing Daggerspire, don't even try to kill that winged imp. You can

hit it for 39 damage and it'll still get away. Infuriating, I know, but

that's apparently the way it works. I mean you should attack it when it

shows up because you need what it's carrying, but you won't be able to

actually kill it...at least I couldn't, and that was with my other

character who had an MR of 63.

But wait, what's that? A transport! Saved am I! Hark, over here! Hey nonny non, please help!

2005-10-21 15:27:55

what's the deal with the mirc?
I've been in there like three times and i

always get nothing accept the same message, you are in the tangle of the

mirc, to the south you see human footprints, but nothing else.
Once i found

a moving statue with a flame and a serpant carved onto his back but nothing

else.
Is there a trick to finding out where to go,
thx

The

Murk is huge and tangled. But you've got to find five random encounters

with Stone Guardians and kill them and collect the bronze disc shards they

drop. Also, there's a huge stone guardian way in the north that you've got

to destroy for his shard. It takes anywhere from ten minutes to an hour and

a half, depending on how lucky/strong you are. It's well worth the

annoyance in the end, though, I'll say that much.

Brian: a few things of

note:
1. I've already beaten Daggerspire, and was annoyed beyond telling

with that blasted imp. Took me forever to get the third key too...but I got

it.
2. Next time you play SBH, try using the thin iron rod you get from the

enemy in that room when prompted. That was easy.
3. As I've said before,

some enemies depend upon your MR for their strength. So if your MR is 24

you'll get the same message as if it were 50. Thus, if simply wandering

around looking for one of these enemies, leave your sword unequipped. The

instant an enemy pops up, re-equip your sword. You'll see what I mean. The

easiest example would be one of the harder of the seven knights west of

Durnsig.

hi,
so what's the deal with these bronze shards?
and how long does it

take to ice these guardians.
and do you know any advventures where i can

get some powerful weapons? what i got now is a battle axe for veidinous,

that's pretty strong, and an enchanted dagger for arkarian. They're both

pretty strong, but i'd like something with some real drive. What is the

best adventure for plundering weaponry?
and where can i get some easy gold,

nothing too hard, ya know, easy adventures.I tried that dernsig adventure

with the 7 knights but i always get killed, what exactly would i get in

return for getting rid of these stone knights?
thx
bye

The

seven knights each have to be killed seven times, eventually yields seven

pieces of equipment. The only things that are really worth it to me, though,

are Blade of the Fox (first time killing all seven) and Cape of the Griffon

(seventh time killing them all). If you're going to do that, MAKE SURE you

examine the plinth from time to time and place your hand in it after you've

killed the seven. Yields 256EXP at the end, but the EXP from each knight

isn't bad either. Blade of the Fox is MR+4 and sometimes adds an extra

attack to your enemy, so it's a decent weapon. I'd go so far as to say

it's second best to the Hale Blade. (If you want that one try winning the

Trithik tournament then talking to Brinivor, beyond that I'm not going to

spoil.)

The bronze disc shards are found by beating the random-encounter

Stone Guardians in the Murk. There are seven shards, total, but since Trote

gives you one and since one of the statues is stationary, you only have to

encounter five statues randomly. Once you do that, return to Ethyl the Wise,

then go pretty much due east. Beyond that, yet again, I won't spoil. You

may email me for extra help if necessary.

Too

bad you couldn't just get the ones you wanted. I agree though, only the

Blade of the Fox and Cape of the Gryphon are really worth it, although I do

like the Helm of the Stag. However when you've got a Plate Helm that gives

you six or however many SP you get, and you have the Helm of the Stag which

only gives you one I think the answer is pretty obvious. The same goes for

Gauntlets of the Wolf and practicaly all the rest of that stuff.

But wait, what's that? A transport! Saved am I! Hark, over here! Hey nonny non, please help!

2005-10-26 03:34:12

Well, I stand corrected. There is one place where one can get halfway

decent prices for one's weapons and armor. Aside from Bryniver of course,

if you visit the bazaar in Graldok, you can get much better money for your

goods. You still can't get exactly what some of those items are worth but

it's much closer to it than anywhere else. Just to give you an example,

each piece of equipment from the Seven Knight Statue quest will net you a

thousand gold. This means that if you sell Gauntlets of the Wolf, Helm of

the Stag, Ring of the Serpent, Belt of the Bear and Shield of the Dragon

that's an easy 5000 right there. Note I didn't say Blade of the Fox or

Cape of the Gryphon. While that would add another 2000 to your total, it

would significantly detract from your Melle Rating. Also, magical items

generally net you a grand, so if you have one of those belts that you're

not too keen on you can sell it for some good dough. This post is for those

who are frustrated with only being able to get 100 gold for everything

you've got. It doesn't work for other items, just weapons and armor, but

it's a good way to get that extra stuff off your hands and make a decent

profit. I also have a tip for those of you who don't want to be thrashed by

Illiok the Brave upon leaving the bazaar for the first time. This is

something I discovered just this afternoon and it netted me some good EXP.

If you have a mastery of 30 or higher in Elementalism, you can use that to

great effect against Illiok, regardless of your Melee Rating. The downside

of course is that this means you will not be able to subdue him. You can't

use Elementalism when you're just fighting to subdue. I tried confronting

Illiok with a character who had an MR of 65 as well as three Blessings of

Protection and I still was no match for him, so this suggests to me that you

have to be incredibly strong, probably stronger than you can be at this

point in the game, to actually subdue him. Therefore I'm not certain what

the outcome is if you do manage to do it.

But wait, what's that? A transport! Saved am I! Hark, over here! Hey nonny non, please help!
