Jaws
does indicate that there's a period at the end of the link to LWorks web
site, but when I open it there isn't one.
Jaws, and possibly other
screen readers, does this occasionally so you don't get a line with a
period or other minor character and nothing else adding extra rubbish to
your navigation of the page.
My guess is the forum system set the period
not to be a link, but some screen readers put the period on the same line as
the link to keep things neat.
