It seems we've got a premium on epicness this season, with swords and quests, worlds needing saving and scary creatures popping up all over the place!

First we have Entombed, now we've got several new recently discovered items.

First off thanks to Orin, is the interactive fiction game Story of Lacuna (index page pending0. This is a complex and incredibly well rwritten piece of If, with dynamic features such as characters who will tune their reactions to what you do, some evil, ---- but guessable puzles, and a highly useful keyword and conversation system which replaces all those nasty guess the verb moments.

You can find information, downloads, and all other such nice things Here on the Blue lacuna site.

Then, some loopy person calling himself Dark has been wandering the net aimelessly, and has stumbled into a vaguely Viking related rpg, Warriors 2, a game with huge amounts of exploration, many locations to discover, all the usual good stuff like quests and monsters and big bad swords of smiting, pluss the chance to become a God.

Despite the rather dubious and dodgy source of information, the game is good. You can see it's spiffy new Index page here or alternatively just Swing over This way for the Warriors 2 site

So, a good month all round, ---- even if Goblins, Orcs, trolls and other such clobberables might be in short supply over the next year.

With our dreaming and singing, Ceaseless and sorrowless we! The glory about us clinging Of the glorious futures we see,
Our souls with high music ringing; O men! It must ever be
That we dwell in our dreaming and singing, A little apart from ye. (Arthur O'Shaughnessy 1873.)
