Hi folks.
Well, it's been talked about for a while now, and it's in my hands *the beta is public invite only so I think it's safe to discuss this*. What I'm referring to is NVidia's Geforce Now cloud gpu. Unfortunately, it is nowhere near accessible, on the mac at least. On windows the splashscreen just appears and then disappears after about 10 seconds. Admittedly I could make a keyboard guide on logging in with Aira's help, but it's a dynamically changing application, and with the OCR on the Mac being so flaky and dependent on external software, I don't have much confidence. I really thought we had a lot going for this as not everyone has or cares to have a decent graphics card, not to mention if you use a macbook anything you are extremely! limited on graphics card upgrades, and virtual machine graphics drivers are mediocre at best. This would allow any midrange to high-performance machine to serve as your gaming rig. Well, not for us if it isn't even accessible.
NVidia hasn't responded to my tweet yet, so it looks like email's the next route. Their Twitter seems to only retweet and is a public relations gig rather than a support Twitter, unless I"m missing something.

I discovered nVidia's inaccessibility back when I still had my home built gaming rig. It was because of that that I didn't bother to install any nVidia drivers from nVidia themselves on my first laptop and just used what came with Windows. It is also why I didn't look for my second laptop that I just bought to have nVidia GPUs in it.

Which is why I wasn't surprised to see that this thing was inaccessible, and seeing as it's kind of a half-open beta I'm not all that convinced they'll take individual feedback much.

Well, voiceover ocr was a flop. Off to live chat I go, then I'm calling Aira. Blanket solution, but it'll at least give me an idea of how this isn't working. Lol.

Well, update. Absolutely nothing in the client is accessible, and Aira did a fantastic job in helping us come to that conclusion. Lol, and the part about Aira isn't sarcasm either, they really were a huge help in reading everything out, but the amount of mouse movement my agent had to do really proved no screenreader could stand a chance with this current build. For that I am very grateful as I was able to find that out in a fraction of the time it would've taken if I had made one OCR attempt after another.
I engaged in a live chat with the support representatives. Explained my situation, they told me to try and submit feedback through the GeForce Now app. Told them I couldn't do that because, again, the client was inaccessible. The rep couldn't' have been more nice about it and just went ahead and submitted my feedback to the development team no further questions asked, with my directive to have them respond to my email in regard to the feedback. So my support experience couldn't have been better, because it was the most honest, hassle-free support I've had for an otherwise inaccessible product, now let's see if the development team will respond back and if they listen. At the end of the day I'm glad this is in beta stages and that this is not the full product yet as there is a slight chance that we may actually be able to get things moving before the product rolls out for fully public use.

Slightly off topic, but...

I do love Aira, I just wish they'd send me glasses that actually work worth a damn.

Now, back to topic.

One response to Aira in post 6 then I, too, will go back on topic. Have you signed up and aren't getting the glasses, or have you gotten defective ones? Or have your glasses not even arrived, mine took a few weeks because of the backlog. You also might not to look out for the Horizons as those do have a far bigger viewing angle than the iPal/Austria.
Alright now back on topic.
As for Steam, obviously it's no surprise that steam is inaccessible on the GFN servers because the local copy isn't either, but that does mean that unless Valve actually does something to make it accessible, even if GFN becomes accessible in a future beta, there's nothing GeForce could do for Steam. After all, you still have to login to Steam to play your pc games on the GFN rig.

I asked Ian if he had been made aware of GFN and if he was able to get into the beta. Apparently not, and something tells me they changed their signup page because he couldn't even get past that. Back when I requested access that part was fine. That can't be good.

You should try contacting them again and let them know about this forum and how many people are having issues with it. I too tried to use Geforce now with little success. even when you get help signing up and whatnot, you'd need help launching the games. I now have a dell g7 laptop so no longer have to worry about this. I would've loved to try it though, sounded like such an awesome concept.

I did contact them a while back, but it was a support specialist that would get in contact with the developers on my behalf, because the feedback submission was also inaccessible. If I don't hear a response back within the next few days I definitely will contact them again and direct them to this thread.
