Hi all. I have a barely used braillenote touch 18, perfect condition, had it for a little over a year. What would be the best place to sell it? Has anyone on here ever sold assistive technology before?

Why don't you try the mailinglist:

It's pretty much a Craigslist for the blind, and it can include assistive technology as well as other stuff people wish to sell. Pretty low-traffic if you don't mind a dozen or so emails a day from the list, or there's always digest mode, though personally I like seeing individual offers one at a time in case there's something that I don't want to miss.

Thanks man, I'll take a look at that later. What do you think a fair price would be for it? I was thinking about half the MSRP $2000.

Back when I did a lot of selling on eBay, my standard for a used item with all of it's accessories and documentation as half the current price of a brand new one, and had great success with that, so if half of new is what you're thinking, I'd say go with it.

This sounds very interesting, but why exactly are you selling it? You have to pay through the nose to get these things, why sell it now?

@6 Glad i'm not the only one with the same idea haha. It's literally perfect, not a scratch on it. I took a shitload of photos of it, just in case.
@7 To be honest with you, i thought it would've been used a lot, but i use my computer for everything so it just ended up collecting dust LOL.

Blind Bargains has a classified that is a good place to sell that kind of thing, but at $5 for a 30 day listing, it isn't free. I'd recommend a buy, sell, trade email list which what I use when I have stuff to sell and have sold everything I've offered at the price I was asking. The buy, sell, trade list I use is one that is moderated by the Blind Mice Mall, the same place that hosts the Movie Vault.
