Hi Chris.
I get what you are saying, and it makes perfect sense. It makes things more realistic, and gives me an idea about what's required and what I need to learn before being able to make anything usable out of it.
I'll try to get something up and running for my own enjoyment. If I ever get it working, then I will learn a lot from doing so, and be more prepared for the future. I might also be better at coming up with suggestions for new features, if I have my own little experimental thing to mess around with, rather than messing up your public server by building random stuff. smile
I'm the kind of person who learns best by braking things, figure out what I did wrong and why, and keep trying until I succeed.
Maybe it's better to help by being a builder on the public server. Because I can't code Python, but I have a ton of ideas for buildings and new things in generel. I just don't wanna mess anything up. smile

Best regards SLJ.

Yeah, we definitely need builders, as maps need to encrease their content.
While I'm kind of the codev, it's chris' choice wether he wants to promote your or not.

Have a nice day.

What we're doing for builders is come on, we'll give you a zone for you to "impress" us with.

That means build something fun, but don't try to make the biggest and best starship or the most powerful-sounding castle or whatever...

There's a few basic guidelines I should stick somewhere for building, but the basic idea is:

Make your zone believeable.
Never tell a player how they feel or react. Stuff like "You feel a chill as you walk through this room" is stupid. You might be dealing with a cold-as-ice character who doesn't care about the child corpses you've decorated the walls with... Or they may have been there 3 milion times and are immune to the the sight. Similarly don't say "You start to sweatas the sun beats down" because they might be wearing protection, be viewing through a camera or proper love the heat.
You must must must use proper spelling, punctuation and capitalisation. The other stuff can be worked with, but if you're that person who says "If my screen reader says it right then it's right and I don't care" then you can kiss your builder bit goodbye. smile
Finally, and most importantly, don't mess with other peoples' stuff without their permission.

It is worth noting at this point that my spelling is god-bollock awful, so I'm not lording it over anyone. smile

If you havent' been scared off by this diatribe, please feel free to drop by and I'll assign you a zone.

Take care,
Chris Norman

OK. If you could send me a mail in the game (you can do that from the main game menu - where you will also find the rules which we just wrote last night), and let me know you're interested in building. That way I know who you are in the game and can go ahead and create you a zone with a room and drop you there.

Cheers, and look forward to seeing what you come up with.

Mail sent. I really like how this system works. The only thing which might seems confusing is: There is a "send" button after you have wrote the subject line. This send button jumps down to the mail text field. Maybe just have both text fields at once. Well, not a big issue, just a suggestion. smile

Actually with the subject field you can just hit enter. You can't do that with the message field because it's multiline. I could use forms, but then people really would moan about having to jump in and out of things, so I went for a chained callbacks kind of setup. You'll see a lot of that chained prompt boxes scattered about.

I'm fine with others having access to my sounds, it's just that since I don't code, I don't bother with Get Hub, unless I'm downloading files from a link someone sent me.

No worries. In that case, if you can send me an email - or PM or whatever - we can sort out a way of sharing sounds.

Thank you so much for your contribution, it is greatly apprecaited. If there's anything I can do in return I'm more than happy to oblige.

Do you plan on making a web rap around for this? As it stands, the only way I can do anything is by pressing the buttons on the page of the letter I want to press, and I don't get any audio either. Can you give me an idea of what sort of sounds you're looking for? I'm not Sound Ideas, so stuff like gun shots are going to be a challenge, if not impossible.

If you use chrome, its probably the new update where you now have to go into chrome://flags and find the autoplay thin and change it to no user gesture required.

Hi Chris.
I'm not sure if I should leave this kind of feedback here. Just let me know if you need the feedback in other ways:
I created a test room just to see how things works and what's available to me. Looks really awesome so far.
Then I tried to delete my room, I got an error. I can't delete my room. I'm not sure if I'm doing anything wrong.
I have also tried to create an object. When I create it, it doesn't appears in the room. Can you tell more about how it should work? I tried to create a pet just to see how it works.
I assume I should keep the space theme when building. I'm not sure if outdoor areas would fit in the space theme as well.
Again, just let me know if you want this discussion or this kind of feedback other places than here.
Keep up the fantastic job with this project. This will turn into something really fantastic for sure...

The objects will be in your inventory which you can access through F11, if you want to put them down, there's a drop option there.

@SLJ you can just make them anchored. They'll be  automatically on the groundif you do that
About the theme, you're free to keep which theme you like, even if is not space. Chris does like sci-fy and he wanted to mix sci-fy and simulation.
But I believe, you can set up the theme you want, just do not expect much, since features aren't a lot at this stage.

Have a nice day.

I would love to become a builder for this game. I’ve always wanted to do something with games! But I just don’t have programming experience and don’t have any idea how to do any of those kind of things.
